The Mane Six are transported into some of their favorite books by Discord, who has once again broken free from his stone prison. His plan for revenge will see them enact the plot, storyline, and dangers of popular books, and maybe come out with a story or two to tell in Discord's new world.

One problem: The first book in the Daring Do series was the one with the Sapphire Statue. Remember, when Twilight presented the book yo Rainbow she announced "this is the first book in the series. I own all of them."
Maybe you can claim they're in the second or third book of the series, but the title and plot of the first one have in fact been revealed in the canon.

Not sure if I could handle actually working as an editor, at least during the school year. It just seems like a bit more than I can handle alongside my college schedule (although I've set up a schedule for next quarter where I won't have any classes on Monday or Wednesday, and will only have one 50 minute class on Friday). Now that I think about it, I think I'll wait until a week or two into the next quarter before deciding if I think I can handle it.

At the end of "Read it and Weep," the title of the second Daring Do book is "Daring Do and the Gryphon's Goblet." Unless you plan on making this "Gryphon's Goblet" their objective, I'd recommend skipping ahead to one with no information (Like the fifth), or maybe just settle for "One of Daring Do's many adventures."
Also, I'm beginning to become sort of confused. Will the characters from the book actually appear, or are our beloved Mane Cast forced to carry out the plotline in their stead? Because, well, that would mean the romance novel is--in a nutshell--shipping...

I am officially a confused pony. In your last reply, you seemed to vastly imply that Discord's dirty develries would destroy the Doer of Dares, but this chapter didn't seem to talk about her at all. Which isn't to say it's a bad chapter, I'm saying that I think you dropped a false hint.
Other than that, a short but good chapter. Rainbow's dream sequence was interesting (If a little frustrating for implying Twilight/Rainbow), and Twilight's resourcefulness with her magic is demonstrated incredibly well.
541036 Dang it. I said 'Next Chapter' because I assumed I would finish this 'Book' by this chapter... but then I didn't. I felt like I had to get something out there, and if I wrote any more it would've come out as "aisubhuiorn asldkjcniurn" because it was 2 in the morning.
I still can't figure out how the characters in the book will react to the Mane Six, but what is clear- the main character isn't there. Daring-Do won't be appearing, but depending on when I write whatever comes next (2 AM versus a sane time) it'll make some sense.

Not bad, and it's a good thing you're taking Spike into consideration. I don't think it's very smart to leave him out of the action, like even the show producers have done most other times. The only thing I can think of is that little detail about names--canon dictates that "Big McIntosh" is the correct way to write his name.
723460 Is that really what the canon has him written as? I could take 'Cadance', but Big McIntosh is just wrong. Plus, I checked the wiki(http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Macintosh), which lists him as Big Macintosh, and his nickname of Big Mac wouldn't make sense as McIntosh.
