Call me Gryph for short, if you like. In-case the avatar, the name, and the themes of my stories didn't make it apparent; big Gryphon fan here.

When a mysterious feathered visitor arrives in Ponyville, the tidings he brings seem to send Applejack into an emotional tailspin. The CMC resolve to get to the bottom of the mystery, by whatever means necessary!

Hard lessons about the nature of war and peace, thrilling tales of times gone by, and copious quantities of tree-sap await the trio as they seek answers to tough questions.

(Not Tagged for gore or mature, but contains PG rated scenes of non-gory fantasy action violence. And creepy monsters. Written for an EQD flash-fic Memorial Day event.)

I rather enjoyed this story, and find it quite memorable. The action segments interspersed with the Ponyville goings-on are a nice alternating device.

One thing, the phrase you're looking for was "semi-sapient", all animals are already sentient, with the possible exception of sponges.

Over a stadia in distance...

No idea whatsoever what this sentence near the end is trying to convey or describe.

I'm flattered that I convinced you to look deeper at my other works, and I *greatly* appreciate the encouragement and thanks.

I'd also like to point out that my TCB is a new and original subset universe; no prior TCB knowledge is needed, and you will find the setting very different (for better, or worse) to any other TCB you have ever read.

thank you for this story. it hit me in the feels hardcore.

I'm glad to hear it, and I appreciate the compliment!

👏👏👏 This story is very underratedted and deserves more attention. You did catch me by surprise a few times with the plot twists. I have nothing but praise for this fic.

Thank you so much! :pinkiehappy:

Glad to know I didn't telegraph my twists too much; When I'm writing shorter stories I tend to fall into that trap.
Longer books give the luxury of building towards twists with greater subtlety, over a more protracted period.
