wow i just noticed Armin's smile in the cover art and it is creepier then Pinkie in one of her bad "moods"
I assume this is written with the thought that one is caught up on the manga instead of watching the anime?
3123419 Nope.
Spike... his hands... Who's gonna heal that? :(
Fuuuck, just watched the newest episode. No idea how you're take on this is gonna look. I mean I shat a miniature brick house complete with indoor plumbing. Also seems like both gg and evetaku are falling behind. Had to grab it from Commie >_<

Well, upon seeing the ponies for the first time, the humans reacted with surprise and fear. In fact, Jean even starts by insulting Rainbow Dash and putting a sword to her face when she declares her offense to that, leading her to strike Jean in self-defense, and face it, she's Rainbow Dash, she's allowed to kick a trained soldier's ass when she's scores faster than him and takes him completely by surprise.
If you ask me, the last term I would use to describe the feelings of the humans towards the ponies is "trusting."
I really can't say the ponies are invincible, but when you consider the injuries these ponies get in the show and how it affects them (Rainbow Dash crashes headfirst into a mountain and she brushes it off like she stubbed her toe), they are pretty durable. Plus, once you read on, especially the latter few chapters, they will prove to be anything but invincible.
And if Marco was right about the whole "you can understand how the weak feel" thing, then Jean and Fluttershy would actually make for a very nice pairing.
Sure, they may be magical, talking ponies from another world, but they're far from all-powerful. In this aspect, really the only thing that has changed in this battle is that the Military has gained seven new soldiers with slightly enhanced abilities such as flying or using magic. Compared to the titan threat and the number of causalities that amounted from it, the changes that the ponies make (at least in this part of the story) would be minimal at best.
Personally, I think the titan threat pales in comparison to the malformed demigod that can warp reality to his will like the ponies have at home. However, I really can't see how the ponies have been "well adjusted" to their environment. They mourn the dead (and as you probably have seen in the beginning, they were repulsed by it), and when push comes to shove, they eventually nut up and kick ass.
Of course, you'd have to read the rest of the story to see this happen.
See third paragraph of mine.
Actually, if I remember the manga/anime correctly, the humans actually took to the whole "there's a titan that's killing other titans" and "our pal can turn into a 15 meter giant) thing pretty damned well. Why would a group talking, magical ponies suddenly become the line in the sand?
Spike may not be a titan, but he sure as hell is a lizard so I'm pretty sure his hand will regrow.
Wow, I've been reading this for the last two days, but I just had to comment on this chapter because it was just great.
First something I need to get off my chest, the whole time while reading this chapter, (and part of the previous ones) I was thinking this: Erwin and Celestia are eerily similar, so much it almost scares me, maybe I need to elaborate (or maybe I've been reading to much into this ) in the snk manga this is the arc where Erwin is outright stated to be willing to go almost any lengths if it means it's for the benefit of humanity, so it may seem too much of a stretch to compare him to Celestia, but if we (and by we I mean me and my crazy musings ) see beyond the shallow differences that for me at least, come from the enourmous change that there is between Equestria and the SNK universe, we have almost the same type of individual: an authority figure who has the uttermost trust (and loyalty) of its subordinates, who has the ability to see the bigger picture, that are willing to manipulate, giving limited information on X situation, completely trusting that if they (subordinates) are fit for whatever task they put on them, they will be able to figure out the solution themselves and turn into better persons (ahem soldiers...) from the experience, all for a greater good.
Mmm as I mentioned I went to far on that one, just something I feel like sharing, because I'm really loving this story so much.
Time to if I'm saying this correctly "cut a bitch!"
Dang! Poor Spike! But considering what happened to Gunther, he got off easy.
*Twi hears Spikes Scream;Motherly instincts* : OH SHIT! HE CUT HIS HAND DIDN'T HE?! SHIT! LET ME GO THERE! HE NEEDS SUPPORT!
Armin: Um, sure...?
: *Rocket-Booster wings activate!* I'M COMING!
