Granted the Community Choice award in the Everfree Northwest 2015 Pre-Con Writing Contest.

The one-shot story is based off the early spoilers for Episode 25 of Season 5, the Cutie Remark, as well as my own little headcanon as to what I think the show will go for. Also Days of Futures Past might have possibly helped inspire it too.

After a devastating battle with Starlight Glimmer ends in the Mane Six's defeat, Twilight gets hurdled back in time by Starlight in an attempt to erase her from history. What happens in the moment that Twilight was sent back to could change the course of Equestria forever.

No one alive today can say where she came from; simply that she has always been there.

And yet, few ponies have had a greater impact on Princess Celestia's life than Raven, her most faithful aide.

Inspired by and based off of a headcanon put forth by Heir-of-Rick, though perhaps a bit less insidious than what he had in mind. He very kindly provided an alternate version of his image for me to use as my cover image! Text added by me.

But there is grief even in the midst of joy: the Princess laments the loss of her beloved books, and a party stallion mourns a small rubber chicken.
