Part one of a three-part series.

Luna hates herself, she hates the pony she's become, she hates how she hurts others, especially when it's her sister,and she's sick of the nightmares and the guilt, and she can't take it anymore. Will Luna do the unthinkable or will the pony she cares for the most stop her and remind her of how much she is loved.

Rated T for suicidal thoughts and a bit of gore but not much.

Twilight Sparkle was a daughter to Nightlight and Twilight Velvet, a sister to Shining Armor, and a student to Princess Celestia. That was who she was, nothing more and nothing less.

However, on the longest day of the thousandth year, her world will change forever. A secret kept even from her will be revealed and her life will be forever changed.

This is a page that was found in Princess Luna's journal, telling the story of the transformation from Princess Luna to Nightmare Moon.

Luna, sister to Princess Celestia, and Princess of the Moon, has been hiding a secret that she has kept from everypony, even long before she had been transformed into Nightmare Moon...

She has been killing ponies while they slept, taking their souls to who knows where...

What thoughts in her mind have clouded her sanity, and driven her to do what all ponies consider to be the most heinous and unforgivable crime in all of Equestria? What happens when she takes a loved one far too soon before their time, and her horrible secret is brought to light?

She tries to stop it...But the monster inside is too strong. For Luna, there's only one way out.

Created in an attempt to resemble an actual episode of the show.

Luna has fallen into a deep coma from which she cannot be awoken no matter how many people come to her aid or whatever spells and medications are used. And her sister's knowledge of the dreamscape isn't as profound, preventing her from creating any real solutions. Celestia did, however, discover, in her brief trips into Luna's dreamscape, the words 'Promise' and 'final wish' floating within. She does not know what they mean.

Forced to stand by her sister's side at all times, Celestia sends the mane six, being the only ones she feels she can trust in this delicate situation, towards a potential solution which lies deep below Canterlot in a newly discovered area that has yet to be explored, much to Twilight's certain excitement. While it isn't certain that a solution lay within, there is no harm in trying.

Takes place, perhaps, at or after the finale of season 5. Non-canonballically, of course. It's also a makeshift birthday present for Lunaexcelsior. His birthday was June 1st, if I'm not mistaken. Joyeux anniverschtroumpf!

Princess Luna is plagued by a recurring nightmare, a nightmare where she has no power, no means of authority, no means of escape, and with each nightmare, the details of the dream become more and more horrific.

Fearing for her sanity, Princess Luna begins to realise that she has no help to turn to and that she must face this on her own.

Princess Luna becomes trapped in the dreams of an eleven year old girl and neither believes the other is real.

Luna loved her sister. She loved Celestia more than she loved the ponies of Equestria. However the ponies denied her. They only loved her sister and when Luna attempted to remedy their blasphemy her own beloved sister cast her from the world. Celestia had made Luna's own creation her cold and dismal prison. The stars had betrayed her. After a thousand years Luna had returned and her sister's pets had forced her to "exercise" her inner demon. The notion that she was ever possessed made her wonder what sort of lies Celestia had fed to her groveling sheep.

Luna stood alone in her tower and watched Canterlot burn. The changelings were bringing so much death and chaos. The captain of the guard was defeated. Princess Cadence was weakened and frail. The elements of harmony were no longer a threat and Celestia was incapacitated. Everything was proceeding as Luna had foreseen.

Shortly after the victory in the Everfree Forest by Twilight Sparkle and her new friends, Princess Luna arrives in Canterlot a sad, broken shell of her former self. In the depths of her grief, the princess of the moon receives an unexpected comfort in "one good stallion" - a young member of the Royal Guard seeking nothing more than to help where most are shying away from that duty. This meeting sets the futures of both involved in ways neither of them could have foreseen at the time - but who is the "one good stallion"? You'll have to read on to find out!
