Brownie Sundae is a simple mercenary. She does her job and keeps her promises. All she wants is to find employment that won't leave a bad taste in her mouth, but when gods and devils conspire to create havoc, what can one pony do to stop them?

A Ponyfinder crossover. No knowledge of Ponyfinder is required to understand the story, but some basic background information is included in the author's notes for Chapter 1. This story takes place in the same universe as A Dangerous Sparkle and The Apple Falls Far from the Tree (both by David Silver), but familiarity with those stories is also not required.

The story is somewhat violent and I attempted to portray the violence realistically, which may disturb some readers.

Originally posted as an Anon in Equestria short based on my own love of cars (and Luna), I started this story as a little thing to pass the time of a hot summer and being stuck in the only air conditioned room of the house. Three years later, this story has gone way beyond an automotive tale, and I'm still going at it, for better or for worse.

For anyone that has followed me and my pastebin, this story is the same, but I have combined some chapters and (obviously) rewritten it and given it a little polish from its original greentext style.

A human, having suffered due to the mysterious means of his transmission from one world to another, is stuck in bed recovering from his injures. While a little alarmed to find that the one looking after him is not human herself, he can't do much about it.

It helps that - as he finds - she's also rather good company.

A recurring nightmare convinces Luna that, since her return, she has never regained her sister's complete trust. And at the forthcoming Festival of the Eclipse, she decides to make amends with a bold gesture.

But Luna's solution causes consequences she never anticipated. Consequences the whole world will feel. Now, Celestia and Luna must set forth on an adventure that will take them even into Tartarus itself, and set everything right before it's too late.

And if they're lucky, they'll rediscover the trust they once had a thousand years ago.

The Exmoori: a mythic race of ancient warrior ponies who, according to legend, once ruled Equestria not by use of magic but by unspeakable technological creations. All legitimate archaeologists, of course, are aware of the fact that the Exmoor ponies are nothing more than a hoax or fairy tale.

Other entities, however, believe they were very much real.

A pair of mysterious albino Pegasi arrive at the ancestral home of Doctor Caballeron, bringing with them images of a carving in the ancient language of the Exmoori- -and promising him riches beyond his wildest dreams if he can bring them the artifact it mentions.

Simultaneously, a young and discredited academic arrives in Southern Equestria, bearing an ill-gotten fragment of the same text. He presents it to none other than Daring Do, who sets out to prove his theories true- -and to recover an artifact of profound and unknowable danger.

Wet pavement hissed under her tires, and the Caterpillar engine rumbled happily in front of her. Her truck was happiest when it was moving. She was happiest when she was moving.

Everypony enjoys myths and ponytales, even if they know such things aren't real. Alicorns fighting against a spirit of chaos? An ancient princess trapped in a library under a tree, waiting to be found? Quite enchanting and fantastic tales yes, but nonetheless as fictional as Daring Do and other such stories. At least, that's what Rarity used to think.

She doesn't anymore.

In many ways, Bon-Bon and Lyra consider themselves to be exceptionally lucky ponies: after all, they have each other. They also have a place in Ponyville's society, paying careers, and regularly-scheduled days during which they both actively consider divorce as a prelude to wildly galloping through what would ideally become the smoking ruins of the former society. Because when you own a candy shop, it's never the holiday. It's the day after.

And when a married couple has been avoiding a discussion about something real, it's everything.
