After several years spent amongst the dragons, Spike returns to Canterlot to take an entry exam at Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Individuals. His old friend is there to witness it, and she is not too happy with what she sees.

I rewatched Season 4 this week, and after Inspiration Manifestation, my personal ban on writing fanfiction disintegrated and this oneshot somehow happened. Consider this a brief look into Rarity's state of mind after this episode's main events. No shipping goggles required, though you're welcome to bring them along if you wish.

Rarity receives an invitation to Equestria’s most exclusive and secretive social club. The only catch is, she can only attend if she brings her lawfully wedded spouse. Fortunately, there’s a certain purple dragon who’s willing to help her overcome this little difficulty. It’s a simple, foolproof plan: get married, attend the club, and then get an annulment. Nothing is ever that simple, however… not their weekend, not their friendship, and certainly not their marriage.

Applejack was out on the orchard going about her usual daily business. She is startled by some creature causing her to nearly break her leg. Unable to do anything for herself she reaches out to her friends for assistance. Unfortunately they are all wrapped up in their own affairs, all except for Spike. Applejack had always thought Spike was a respectable dragon with a good head on his shoulders, maybe more than she thought. Will she start to feel for the one of a kind dragon or will she drive her self to the edge to deny it.

After Twilight became an alicorn, it seemed as though her entire personality was a bit off. Twilights behavior towards him was really weighing down on Spike, and his growth spurt just a few years ago didn't help with his romance/social life. With so little time to himself, and finding that his life wasn't going to go anywhere in Ponyville, Spike flew off towards the badlands to find his future. Though he left without saying a word, he did leave a note promising he would be back in a few years. While living out his life in the badlands, somedragon ends up opening his life to a whole new world...

First fanfiction ever, and this is just a Spike scenario that has been bugging me for the past month or two. And if you can't tell by what the description and title give you, then let it be known that this is a spike x dragoness fic.

As the story progresses, many other of the spike fiction authors might find tiny references to their stories... one of which is in the prologue.
So yea, big thanks for the inspiration from the multitude of spike fan fic writers.

Hope you guys will give it a shot. Oh, and Spike has wings and magic, but hides the magic from Twilight for obvious personal reasons. Also, didn't know whether or not to add alternate universe tag because there is a dragon civilization, but Equestria has just never known about it.

Chrysalis has been defeated, Applejack and Spike are married and now they are blessed with a daughter. Both of them will have to go through a new challenge; parenthood. Something they don't know is that a new enemy is out and trying to ruin their lives. Will they be able to keep their family together or will it be separated?

Applejack: She is dependable and loyal, always willing to help anybody in need.

Spike: He isTwilight Sparkle's best friend and number one assistant. He has the ability to magically deliver scrolls to and from Princess Celestia with his green fire-breath.

Appleblaze: She is just as stubborn as her mother and has her father's unique power. Raised with love and care, she's always finding a way to solve her friends problems.

Today is Hearts and Hooves Day, a day where every pony in Equestria gives their special someponies their love and care. Usually everyone enjoys this day expecially Sweetie Belle, but for Spike, love is just a game for him since he knows that Rarity will never want a guy like him, however, that will soon change. When he receives a love letter from Sweetie Belle, Spike begins to reconsider his feelings for her older sister and asks Twilight for help while Sweetie Belle asks for Rarity's advice on what to do when Spike tells Sweetie if he has feelings for her or not.

No CMC tag since Scootaloo and Apple Bloom aren't major characters in the story.

This story is a sequel to Disparity

Last night the impossible happened: Spike asked Rarity to be his special somepony for Hearts and Hooves Day, and she accepted. So what if it took a magic disaster to seal the deal? The most romantic day of the year, and Spike’s life, is about to begin. He’s dreamed of this one chance to win Rarity’s heart for years, and nothing is going to stand in his way; not even Rarity’s strange emotional jumps between happiness and panic.

Although this is technically a sequel, reading Disparity isn't necessary to enjoy what follows.

One normal and completely average morning, everything went wrong. Rarity arrives at the Castle of Friendship to pick up Spike for their weekly gem hunting trip, only to find that Spike has locked himself in his room and Twilight is working herself into a frenzy in the library. As she tries to piece together what happened that morning, and mend a damaged friendship, she'll make a number of startling revelations.
