However, she gets challenged by Spike one day when he tells his friends that he would never be able to fall in love with her. Given Rainbow's competitive nature, a new challenge between the two of them begins.

Rainbow Dash was just cruising through life, one cupcake at a time. However, after a freak encounter in the kitchens of Sugarcube Corner, the pegasus finds herself faced with something she's never encountered before: love.

However, this is not your average love story. For you see, the object of her affection isn't some handsome stallion with a windswept mane and gorgeous abs. No; her love is a sink.

Now, Rainbow must face the challenges that come with love, all while learning to deal with strange urges, teething children, and dresses.

This is a fanfic interspersed with the lyrics of "Rainy Day Man" from Sailor Moon to show the growing relationship between Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Applejack is the faithful, loyal best friend who is always Rainbow Dash's shoulder, there through thick and thin no matter what. And throughout, the two begin to realize their feelings for one another. This is my first ponyfic, so I hope you enjoy it. :)

Rainbow Dash, the greatest flier in all of Equestria and the Element of Loyalty, has had only one dream her entire life: to join The Wonderbolts. What Dash doesn't realize is that doing this would ultimately mean giving up her friends. In fact, she never even gave it a thought until a pegasus named Sound Cloud arrives in Ponyville looking for her. This pony is shrouded with secrets- what could this pegasus want with Rainbow Dash? More importantly, when the time comes for Dash to make her decision, what will she choose: dreams, or loyalty?

When your life is as dull a gray as the world that surrounds you, the mundanities can make it all seem meaningless. Sometimes all we need is a little color -- or six -- to reintroduce us to what truly makes life worth living.

It took years for Quills to finally find the inspiration to write, but now that he has, he realizes the story he was creating has a lot more meaning for him, as well as the pegasus who inspired it.

This is the semi-sequel to my previous short story "A Writer's Inspiration," where I wanted to take another slice of life inspired from my own trials and tribulations as a writer, and just how much of an impact Rainbow Dash was to me just as much as she was to Quills.

Rainbow Dash is having an awful, terrible, no-good very bad day. Nothing seems to be going right!
