Applejack is the faithful, loyal best friend who is always Rainbow Dash's shoulder, there through thick and thin no matter what. I liked it but it seemed a bit too short for a story that encompasses such a large story arc. There's nothing wrong with it but I personally would have liked it to be longer.
This was really good, and I liked your writing style, but the only thing was that the story could have been a little more in-detail, and a bit longer, just like Thefurehazzard said. Anyways I'd love to see more!
Not a bad read, however I want to note one thing that you state in your description. Applejack is the faithful, loyal best friend who is always Rainbow Dash's shoulder, there through thick and thin no matter what. In all honesty, you got that backwards, loyal and faithful and being by your side through thick and thin is Rainbow Dash, not Applejack. Applejack is dependable, and honest. Other than that I felt it could have used a little more detail so I give you a 4 out of 5 (I am only judging you on the story, not the description)

If I had more think-through time for it, it probably would have been longer. I basically got inspired to write this story this morning around 3:45am as I was about to crawl into bed, and spent til about 5am writing it out because I knew if I let it go it would never get written otherwise. And I hadn't been bitten with the inspiration bug for writing for so long I just HAD to get this out. I have a few more ideas in line that I'm hoping will be longer.

Indeed, RD is the loyal one. Applejack is described as faithful and strong, but in my personal opinion from the show, while RD may be loyal to her friends and would never abandon them, to me Applejack shows herself as more the pony that would be the shoulder to cry on and the rock rather than Rainbow Dash, but that's my personal view.

I'm not going to lie, I heavily considered Gilda for that first scene. But I didn't want to twist canon too much being somewhat new to the ponydom, since I'd had have to have shifted it a bit to the episode where Gilda came back, and it was far too late(or early!) for my brain to process the effort and detail that would need to go into it. ^_^
