Spike’s day is not off to a good start. Twilight is in micromanagement mode and it seems every pony is at least a little crazier than usual today. He’ll try to push through like always, but the population of Ponyville isn't going to make it easy for him.

Rumor has it that if a pony says Discord's name five times in front of a mirror, he's forced to appear there.

So who thought something like that could actually be true?

Following a Changeling attack that scatters every resident in Ponyville, Applejack holes up in her family home with only Apple Bloom for support. The doors and windows have been boarded shut. A thick fog covers everything in sight. Soon the first visitor comes to her door.

Not an easy decision, isn't it? Sure, a mind is something precious and all that, but the temptation of having such a power can be too much for certain ponies. It was too much for Trixie, and she fell for it. It's a good thing that Twilight Sparkle managed to save her from a life of insanity.

But, what would happen if Trixie's sanity wasn't the only price to pay? What else could the Amulet take from Trixie?

Chapter 1's Live Reading

After a run in with the Flim Flam brothers, Applejack and her family end up taking in the robotic stallion Big Lugnut. Big Lugnut denies all claims that he is a robot despite Applejack's constant persistence on the matter. This story chronicles the moments of tears and laughter during his exploits in and around Ponyville.

Apple Bloom gets a rare chance to spend the day with her friend (and possible relative!) Maud Pie. Of course, she knows there's more to Maud than it appears, but her special talent means helping Maud to figure that out, too.
