Spike and Ember's hard work together in the Gauntlet of Fire failed. Neither retrieved the blood sceptur or became Dragon Lord. But neither did Grable. Equestria was safe, for a while. The new Dragon Lord later decided that Equestria was done and has unleashed all dragons under his command to rampage and destroy Equestria. Some Dragons really hate ponies, others just want their pillows. No matter what the reason, it means pony blood must be shed.

The war has been waging for several years. The Wonderbolts were easily outmatched in the air. Project Alicorn Wings was started to reclaim the skies and support the ground troops who were also hunting the Dragons. Unicorns and Earth Ponies join their Pegasus brothers in the air, using steel wings and behind guns, busting up and killing dragons whenever they come to threaten their homes.

Defending their homes means many make the ultimate sacrifice. And every engagement doesn't guarantee the death of a Dragon.

One day after talking with Starlight, Spike begins to glow most unusually. He quickly realizes that this is the call of the dragon lord, and that means he is needed in the dragon lands again.

Not willing to send the dragon off on his own, Twilight decides have to Starlight go with him, hoping the change of scenery will help her student get over her recent failure to redeem Queen Chrysalis.

But upon arriving in the dragon lands, Spike and Starlight discover that Dragon Lady Ember is facing a challenge to her authority in the form of Garble, and the possibility of war looms overhead. To make matters worse, Starlight doesn't see how she'll be of any help.

After all, if Starlight couldn't redeem Queen Chrysalis, how is she supposed to help a species she knows nothing about? Will Spike and Starlight be able to help, or will it be up to Spike alone to save the day?

Let’s just say Jason’s action somehow were seen by many televisions on earth. This small group of humans don’t care about what Jason went through. All they cared about was what he did to their favorites.

Developing romantic feelings for a friend is awkward.

It's extra awkward when you're a ruler, they're an ambassador of another nation, and oh, bonus, they were raised immersed in that nation's culture and so you have no idea if the signals you're trying to give are even being picked up on.

On a visit to Ponyville to catch up with Spike, Ember has just noticed how handsome her first and best friend has gotten, and has no idea what to do with herself about it. She needs to figure that out asap, and so needs some advice, badly. Thankfully, ponies are good with mushy-feely things, so she just needs to track down the local romance expert and shake them down.

And hopefully not burn the town down in the process.

But he must be in the wrong place. After all, dragons don't do friendship.

When Thorax brings his brother, Pharynx, on a trip to Ponyville, he runs into Ember. While spending time with her, Pharynx nearly goes insane from their seemingly lovey-dovey conversations.

Princess Ember isn't exactly thrilled this day. Her trek through Ponyville on behest of Spike has seen her trying to flee from all the ponies calling her a 'waifu'(des). She can't escape. All she wanted to do was find the little dragon.

Dragons are known for being big strong creatures, to the pointed where they're getting pretty violent. Dragon Lord Ember, however, has been wanting to make a piece connection with the ponies and other kingdoms of Equestria.

Yet there's one dragon who's not wanting to team up with the others but rather take over all Equestria starting with the Dragon Lord. To do this, he uses the power of a stone to erase Ember's memories. Now that she's no longer knowing she's in charge the dragon raises to power and no dragon can stop him. Keyword, "Dragon."
