Scootaloo spends her days with the CMC's going to school, practicing her flying, and trying to get her cutie mark.... and trying to hang out with her idol as much as possible. But of course, when an idea to get her quazi-sister Rainbow Dash to "officially" be her instructor, what's a filly to do? Everything in her power to one-up and trick her, of course... how else does a silly filly earn a victory?

Post Sleepless In Ponyville-

Rainbow Dash has decided that she is going to spend some much needed quality time with her honorary little sister, Scootaloo. In doing so, she finds out more about Scoots than she planned, and that the filly really is in need of an older sister.

And she will be that big sister.

I'm posting this as an AU, mainly because it deviates from canon just after Sleepless In Ponyville. Plus, future installments will be later episodes that are set in this storyline.

Its late. Zap apple season is over. AJ is in the barn finishing up some work, when a knock on the door is heard.
Who could it be at this hour?
It's Rainbow.

Rainbow Dash teaches Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle how to fly. Sweetie Belle. Oh, and Derpy brings muffins.

When it starts raining, Rainbow Dash starts thinking her parents and her life when she gets a knock at the door only to find Scootaloo

Scootaloo has not been able to fly her whole life; her wings haven't grown large enough. And she still hasn't gotten her cutie mark.
When it is found out that this is due to Scootaloo being born with a rare and horrible disease, she is determined to take one flight.

After seeing how much Scootaloo wants to fly, Rainbow Dash decides to take her for a flight.
The trip takes Rainbow Dash into heavy thoughts as to why she always hung around Scootaloo.

Dash realises how much regret can destroy someones life, and how a past crime can weigh heavily on her chest.
