What is life? Discord wants to know. In attempt to find out the answer, he goes to Fluttershy's. But when Fluttershy asks him "What is love?" Discord has a lot put on his mind... until he receives a gift from Fluttershy, leaving him shocked, but more open-minded.

"All my life, I've wanted to fly
But I don't have the wings, and I wonder why
I can't break away..."
Most pegasi figure out flying easily enough. Heck, most of them figure out how to do it before they even get their cutie marks.

But not me. I couldn’t do it, no matter how hard I tried. I couldn’t even hover. Not for more than a few seconds, anyway. And not even Rainbow Dash, the greatest flier in Equestria, could seem to help me. We tried everything, and I failed every time. Day after day, I tried – and day after day, I failed, until finally I was ready to just give up. I’d never be able to do it. Nopony would ever be able to help me to fly...

...until one day, somepony did.

It's been a few years, but it finally happened. Rarity finally told him it just wasn't gong to work out. Now all Spike wants to do is sit in his room and wallow in his misery. Fortunately, Rainbow Dash has other ideas. After all, she needs a partner for the Equestrian Unity Challenge and he could use some time away from home. Of course, making a partnership work is hard enough without the introduction of unexpected rivals or unexpected feelings.

Spike gets a visit from a truly loyal friend, but she isn't just coming for a regular visit. what does rainbow have to say? And how will it affect their relationship?

Ever since Twilight came to town, Mayor Mare's position as leader of Ponyville has been slipping. With her destiny overshadowed by the new princess on the block, it's time for the old gray mare to move on.

On his way from visiting Zecora he finds a black gem that he decides to eat and grants him the power over shadows and darkness. Pranks and chaos ensues as he uses his new found power's to have some fun on Nightmare Night.

When Scootaloo gets caught in the storm of the century she finds her way to Twilight's LIbrary where she takes refuge. She joins in Twilight and Spike's little game and finds her heart touched by the librarians assistant. She tries to get Spike to see how she feels but is cut short by the Evil Enchantress Twilight SparKill who whisks her off to a creepy dungeon. Will Spike be able to rescue her from the clutches of evil?

When they began to read the ancient book Twilight and Spike only had the slightest of ideas what it could possibly be about. As the illuminated inks revealed to them an image of Princess Celestia locked in combat with a massive dragon and his sons they realized that the song written upon the aged pages was telling of a long forgotten battle...

... and that the Celestia they know and love is capable of things they dare not imagine.

That was what Twilight had in mind when she invited Luna over for tea one afternoon. A relaxing, friendly meeting between two fellow princesses where they can commiserate and share their experiences. An invitation to a stronger friendship than they had before, offered to a pony displaced in time.

What she got was an uncomfortable assertion about her relationship with her number one assistant, Spike. One that she is having difficulty refuting.
