Applebloom finds a big spider in the barn and gets scared. To frightened to deal with it herself, she asks her big sister to take care of the problem. Applejack thinks her sister is being silly, but decides to take care of the problem. However it turns out that the spider is a lot bigger than she anticipated.
Will she be able to handle the problem or will she forever be known as the pony who failed to take care of a spider?

Spike’s been feeling down lately, he feels anxious, bored, and confined. Something’s bugging him, but he doesn't know what. So when Rainbow Dash tells him that Twilight has a spell to change his form, he figures that turning into a unicorn would impress Rarity, as well as get his mind off of things.
Shenanigans ensue, and Twilight relents. However, instead of doing what they asked, she genies them. Turning Spike into a mare, and Rainbow Dash into a male dragon.

Now they must survive the week like this.

When it comes to light that Shining Armour has been in a secret affair with Rarity, it leaves Princess Cadence and Spike stunned and badly hurt. Leaning on each other for comfort, the two devise a plan to not only get revenge on the ponies that hurt them, but maybe even heal their broken hearts along the way.

Spike and Twilight return from the alternate world to only see that Spike has not changed back to a dragon. This Spike isn't a puppy though and must show the world that he isn't a pet but much more. Watch as Spike grows into his destiny as a protector of not just the wildlife of Equestria but the very balance of nature itself. Spike will have to battle against everything from, manticores, hydras, constellation beast, timberwolves, corrupt forest gods, and everything in between.
