I came here to read awesome stories, post mediocre ones, and chew gum.

And I'm all out of gum.

Well, actually, I never had any gum, but you get my point.

I like to consider myself fairly decent when it comes to grammar etc. (perhaps leaning with a rather large bias towards the British, i.e. PROPER, way of doing things, but anyway ;-P ) so if anypony fancies firing a story my way for a preread or whatever, then feel free.

You know, if, um, that's alright...

In case you're wondering, my avatar is now what one may refer to as my "ponysona". He has a lot of hair, just like I used to!

Ok, after much procrastination and other big words that mean I was mostly wasting my time, the latest chapter of The Truth has just gone live!

There are now definitely three chapters left to go, and I'm going to try and hold myself to getting them done soon-ish, hopefully before the time comes when I'll have been spending a year on this damn thing.

The Truth

Apple Bloom's parents died years ago in an accident, when she was only a baby. That's what Applejack and Big Macintosh have always told her, and even though they must have suffered a great deal they still managed to raise her properly and give her all the love her parents couldn't.

But her brother and sister have been hiding a secret, through shame, ever since their parents' deaths, and now the time has finally come to tell Apple Bloom who she really is. But how will the youngest Apple react to what really happened? Can their family bonds survive the truth?

(Credit to the author known as Somber, who wrote the fantastic "Simply Rarity", for the inspiration for some minor details about Sweetie Belle's family history. I don't think the story is on here, so go find it on Equestria Daily. Naio!)

Hues: The Haphazard Tale of Lilac Dreams

At first glance, Lilac Dreams seems to have it pretty good: youth, wealth, a loving family, good looks, a great body, a beautiful lilac coat and the legendary rainbow-coloured mane and tail only granted to a few Pegasi. Unfortunately, two major problems are present in this Pegasus' life:

1. Can you even begin to imagine what being called "Lilac" does for a stallion's street cred?

2.If he flies for too long he gets cranium-rending headaches that cause him to lose consciousness.

To help with his problem (the second one, nopony can help him with the first) he travels to Ponyville to seek the aid of the famous Twilight Sparkle, personal student of Princess Celestia herself, and her friend Rainbow Dash, the best young flier in Equestria.

What's that I hear you cry? "Shenanigans"? But how? It's not as if both mares are very beautiful and he finds himself attracted to each of them. Honest. That would just be silly, right?

Mirrored - Part 1: Applejack

EDIT: Come the revolutiontime when I get back to this, I'll be updating several aspects of it, including the amateurish description.

Adam Jack Smith is your average Southern farmer, not much else to say. Quite handsome in a rugged way, perhaps, and maybe with more than the usual amount of emphasis placed upon honesty at all times. But nothing bad.

And then a young woman falls into his life from a cloud. Odd.

She looks and behaves very much like a female version of himself. Also odd.

She claims to be a pony where she came from. Well that just takes the apple cookie.

Wish Upon A Shooting Stallion

Author's Note, added 17/3/2013: Do NOT read this, it is crap. Unless you want an example of how NOT to write stories, complete with a Gary Stu for good measure, then go right ahead!

When the Mane 6 set out their picnic that beautiful summer’s day, they had no idea it would be interrupted by a stallion crashing headfirst into it from the sky above. Or that this stallion would be an alicorn. Or be quite so handsome. Or have no cutie mark whatsoever, despite being fully grown.

This is all well and good, but why is he here? Why, despite his apparent perfection, do the six friends begin to feel more and more uneasy around him? And are his reasons for spending so much time around them all purely innocent?

>>499526 Well, it had two things going for it from the off!

1. RBDash47 put it in the Vault.

2. It was pretty short, so I just read it there and then! :pinkiehappy:

It was nice.

I totally get what you mean about all the F/F ships, too. It can be good, but everybody does it!
