All Art Is Quite Useless

When I'm not writing stories, I'm writing essays. My keyboard sees fairly frequent use. University student, high functioning Rainbow Dash enthusiast, and satirical activist.

You and Fluttershy have a child together. You probably should have considered the ramifications of interspecies breeding first.

It was a quiet, sunny day in Baltimare when it all went to sh*t.

Time to fight, I guess.

On a camping trip with Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo claims that she could beat the strongest pony in town in a fight. Rainbow Dash bursts out laughing.

Pre-reading by the brilliant Ceffyl Dwr once again, I cannot thank you enough man!

Junkie Mac lived in a torrent of tobacco ash, surrounded by pizza crusts and empty bottles in his rancid flat. Many times he had dreams of taking an axe, sharpening the blade and beginning to hack without mercy.

He used to have a life, but he was barely known for talking. That was before the crack, the glue, and everything he snorted. He used to have a family and they all just adored him, until he moved away in search of vices more important.

Follow me as I narrate the life of Macintosh, who got his wings and horn and traded them for open vein depositories. Watch as I show you what became of the first male alicorn in history, sparking much controversy.

Rated T for implicit drug use. The story is vaguely structured, free-form poetry.

Vinyl Scratch knows a lot about electronic music. She knows how it works, she knows its sub-genres, she knows how to create it, and she's got a deft ear when it comes to analysing it.

Other ponies? They're typically not so clued up, and that annoys her.

Spike constantly goes around doing self-absorbed, rude things, yet somehow nopony notices! Score!

What would it be like?

Spitfire has asked herself that question for years. From her upbringing to her graduation—and even her rise through the ranks of the Wonderbolts—a desire for change has always loomed in her heart, no matter how she might have suppressed it.

Now, with her strongest aspiration beginning to resurface, she's starting to remember why she wanted to make music in the first place: The world she lives in, the company she works for, the system she was born into, none of it is right, none of it should be the way it is. Could her music truly change that?

With a little help, Spitfire will come to realise that change is possible.

I cannot thank Ceffyl Dwr enough for the level of work he has put into pre-reading this story, offering suggestions, discussing and debating various details with me and generally helping me make this into something presentable. I'm immensely grateful.

Luna hasn’t been sleeping well.

Celestia has to wake her repeatedly in order to ask her to raise the moon in the evenings, and Luna is sure she’s beginning to wonder why.

If only Celestia realised that not all of her woes came from her nightly duties, that the dreamscape offered a much more damaging allure that she could barely help but indulge.

If only she realised that while she might govern the sleep of others, she does not have the same ability over herself.

Perhaps she can find solace in the dreams of another?
