As a part of the Friendship Programme, you have been provided with this book by renowned psychologist, Signal Friend MD. Within these covers, you will learn: how to make friends, the history of the Grand World Peace, and how to prepare yourself—mind and body—for your upcoming conversion into a pony.

If you work through carefully, you may find information in these pages useful to you in your daily life. The object is to read, to remember, and to comprehend.

Before you start, please find a private spot, alone, away from distractions such as security nurses and your fellow inpatients, far from disruptive sounds such as telephone booths and corrective sirens. When reading this book, you must be free of external interference.

Read. Remember. Comprehend.

The Six Habits of Very Friendly Ponies is based on Within the Wires written by Jeffrey Cranor and Janina Matthewson.

As a newly naturalised Equestrian subject, you get occasional letters from the Princesses of Harmony about pony customs. You just didn't expect to get one from Applejack, about Hearts and Hooves. And why is it telling you to remain calm?

Inspired by the Welcome to Night Vale Valentine episode.

It's Hearth's Warming Eve, time for family, friends and tales of giant pony-eating cats. (Thanks, Iceland!) Oh and don't forget the terrorists holding Twilight's guests to ransom.

Why doesn't Twilight's Castle have guards again?

I'd also like to thank everyone who contributed their ideas on Book Abuse.

Twilight communicates linguistic predicament unto Princess Celestia utilising extremely simplified thousand entry lexicon. Jinkies! Yarn's description adopts theme opposing Twilight's quandry.

Just a silly little challenge I set myself where I had to adhere to only two rules:

1. I could only use the 1000 most commonly used words as dictated by the XKCD Simple Writer program. If that program allows it, I can use it.
2. I'm allowed to swap out any human specific words for pony ones e.g. pony instead of person, hoof instead of hand.

Rated Teen for a small amount of swearing, because of course swear words are commonly used.

There exists two Equestrias, Diurnal and Nocturnal, one ruled by Celestia and the other Nightmare Moon. Though they are intertwined, their cultures are worlds apart. Neither are allowed, by law, to see or interact with the other. Concordia, a cross-border agency, enforces this law with extreme prejudice. Break the law and face severe consequences.

Rarity, a private detective, has lived all her life in Diurnal Ponyville with this as a reality.

Ruby Becker, a human tourist, newly arrived in the city, has yet to experience the bizarre nature of the dual cities for herself.

Twilight Sparkle, a member of the Royal Inquisition, Nightmare Moon’s secret police, must work constantly with the knowledge that even she is not above Concordia.

All three soon get entangled in a conspiracy far stranger than this dual reality, one that involves the existence of the legendary Hippolyta, a third Equestria that lurks in the shadows between the ponies and the ponies.

(Inspired by China Mieville's novel, The City and the City).

Initial proof-reading by MindAssassin.

It is the eve of the Summer Solstice, and Princess Celestia has sent Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville to oversee the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville and make new friends. Probably more the latter, given everything seems to be running fine.

Twilight grudgingly accepts her task, unaware that cultists have singled her out as the Fourth Star, the final sacrifice they need to bring about the Second Coming of Nightmare Moon.

Inspired by David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks series.
