The year is 0001 PC (post-Chrysalis) and it's the first Hearth's Warming for the Reformed Changeling Hive. There's just one problem; none of them have ever celebrated it before!

Luckily, if there's one thing changelings are good at, it's learning how to mimic something. It's just those fine details that are hard to get right without having ever experienced them firsthand. They should probably get a pony to drop by and evaluate their work.

Colgate is a pony of simple pleasures. She wakes up, goes to work, avoids whatever nonsense is plaguing the city of Ponyville today, and heads home, leaving better suited ponies to clean up the weekly mess.

Until one day she wakes up, and it is not tomorrow.

This begins a series of circumstances that will eventually culminate with a conversation with a star, a lifesaving mattress, several pieces of magical cutlery, a series of one-hit KOs, and a chase through the past and the future for the fate of all Equestria.

Just a normal Tuesday in Ponyville, even when the exact date is negotiable.

Little does he know that this is the beginning of a path which will change the course of fate on Mount Aris.

Written for the Ponyfest 2020 Iron Author competition with a time limit of two hours and three mystery prompts to work with. Their ranking system was a bit... convoluted, but it arguably took seventh place. The story has been slightly expanded and cleaned up for posting.

So when Sunburst uncovers ancient records that that the Crystal Heart is but one piece of a set of artifacts, she jumps at the chance for adventure and a well deserved break. But when faced with countless challenges, new creatures, and exotic locations, will she ever get any time to actually rest?

The world is safe. The monsters are all gone or locked away or reformed, and a new generation of heroes has emerged to carry the torch. Finally, after years of service the Pillars of Old Equestria can at last relax and enjoy normal lives.

Time to enjoy the small pleasures of life like owning a home. Taking up hobbies. Starting a family.

As it turns out, that last option will open a door which cannot be closed that will cast everything they thought they knew about themselves in a harsh new light.

On Hearth's Warming Eve, Fluttershy waits, alone, in a run-down barn for her last hurrah. The final holiday party with a certain somepony as circumstances have forced their paths to part. But fate is funny sometimes, and may take things in an unexpected direction.
