S02E01 The Return of Harmony Part 1

View Online

Twilight walked into the complete chaos at Sweet Apple Acres unperturbed. Tossing her spellbook to Spike, she reassured her friends. "Don't worry, everyone. I've learned a new spell that'll fix everything."

Without hesitation, she fired it off. Great waves of purple magic radiated in all directions, sweeping over everything.

When Twilight opened her eyes again. It had worked! The corn no longer popped, the bunnies were back to normal, and the clouds were raining ordinary water.

Only Pinkie seemed disappointed.

A moment later, though, Spike burped up a letter.

Twilight grabbed it before it fell to the ground. After reading it quickly, she shouted to her friends. "Come on, girls. Princess Celestia wants to see us all in Canterlot immediately!"

* * *

"Oh, so boring, Celestia. Really? Fine, I'll tell you, but I'll only tell you my way." Discord flitted over to a different window. "To retrieve your missing Elements, just make sense of this change of events. Twists and turns are my master plan. Then find the Elements back where you began." With an echoing laugh, he vanished entirely.

Fluttershy trembled. "Can we go home now?"

"What do you reckon he meant?" Applejack asked. "Twists and turns and ending back where we started?"

"No, Fluttershy, we can't go home just yet." Twilight looked out through the window at where Discord's statue had once been. "We have a little errand we need to do first."

The rainbow-colored magic shot from pony to pony, flowing around in a ring between all six of them.

In a snap, Discord appeared in the middle of the ring.

"What's this?" He looked around him. "You shouldn't be able to do that yet. Who taught you that?"

Twilight smiled at him. "Princess Celestia happened to know a Discord summoning spell."

"I really should never have taught her that one." Discord covered his face with his paw. "Well, no matter. You'll still never find your precious elements, so if you'll excuse me..."

Twilight giggled.

"What now? What's so funny?" Discord's eyes narrowed. "I don't appreciate being left out of the joke, mind you."

"Why does everyone think those silly things are so important?" She waved a hoof at him. "Those necklaces don't matter. The six of us are the Elements of Harmony."

Discord glanced around at the ponies surrounding him. "Uh-oh."

Before he could even teleport away, the magic swirled around him. His scream trailed off as the stone once again encased his body.

"Good work, Twilight." Celestia walked over from her throne. "Good work, all of you. That should probably hold him for another thousand years or so. Why don't you all take tomorrow off?"

Spike had to carefully restrain himself to just shouting at Twilight, not slapping her.

Thankfully, it got the job done. She seemed to snap out of her private little nightmare.

"That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!" he said. "You're not going to be sent back to magic kindergarten."

"You're right." Twilight's confidence would have been reassuring if it wasn't immediately followed by, "I have no reason to worry. Because I'm going to solve a friend's problem and get that letter to Princess Celestia before sundown!"

Spike sighed.

"So... got any problems, troubles, conundrums, or any other sort of issues, major or minor, that I as a good friend could help you solve?"

"Huh. Hmm. Huunh." Spike thought hard. He knew there would be trouble if he didn't manage to think of something. In the end, he could only think of one thing, desperate as it was. "Twilight, I hate you."

"What?" Twilight jumped back. "What do you mean?"

"The sight of you makes me sick, and I wish I could leave."

Tears welled up in her eyes. "But... Spike, I thought we were... I thought..."

"Well I guess you thought wrong." Spike crossed his arms.

"Spike, please! Whatever it was I did wrong, I'm sorry!"

"Oh." Spike smiled and hugged her. "Okay then, I forgive you, and we're friends again."

Twilight looked down at him. "Huh?"

"Good luck with learning something about friendship and all. I'll go check on how the picnic preparations are going, okay?"

"Oh!" Twilight giggled and hugged him. "I see!" She paused for a moment. "Yeah, I guess that counts. Well, you go ahead. I've got a letter to write about the value of apologizing and forgiveness."

S02E04 Luna Eclipsed

"It is of no use, Twilight Sparkle." Princess Luna hung her head low. "They have never liked us and they never shall."

Twilight thought for a moment. "Hm... Me and my friends know you've been turned good because we saw it... but none of these other ponies have."

Luna glanced over at her. "Implying...?"

"I think I know what to do." Twilight smiled. "We'll just need to gather up my friends."

* * *

"Muahahaha!" Luna stomped her hooves into the ground timed along with a lightning strike. The ponies of Ponyville were good and terrified now, and she had their complete attention.

Twilight and her fiends walked into the town square, right on cue. "Your nights of tyranny are over, Nightmare Moon!" Twilight shouted. "Because we have the Elements of Harmony!"

"What?" Luna made sure to exaggerate her voice for effect. "How could that possibly be?"

Twilight's horn glowed, and soon, so did all the jewels she and her friends were wearing. A massive rainbow blast, far bigger than the real one, rose up and smashed back down onto the Princess.

When the rainbow hit her, it did little more than tickle. It was mostly just illusion magic, after all. But Luna made sure to give the best cries of pain and outrage she could muster before collapsing theatrically.

As soon as the rainbow was gone, Twilight and her friends walked calmly up to Luna. After a moment, Twilight turned and spoke to the crowd. "We've used the Elements of Harmony to turn her back to good!" Only Luna was close enough to hear the whispered "again" at the end. "Now you all have no reason to fear her."

Luna smiled at the townsponies, and just like that, some switch flipped in their heads. Now they were all smiles and adoring curiosity. Nightmare Night was saved!

S02E05 Sisterhooves Social

"The Sisterhooves Social!" Apple Bloom jumped up. "Applejack an' I do it every year! You an' Rarity can compete against other sister teams in all these neat events!"

Sweetie Belle grinned wide. "That sounds like the perfect way for us to hang out! Rarity will think it's an excellent idea."

* * *

Rarity held a hoof up to her chest. "What a ri—" She looked down at the face Sweetie Belle was making. Their sisterly relationship had been more than a little strained lately. It was time to make up for it, to do something to salvage it. "...riveting idea, Sweetie Belle."

"Really?" She squeaked. "You want to do it?"

Rarity winced. "Of course."

* * *

The two of them panted together at the finish line, exhausted.

"Wow... Rarity." Sweetie Belle took a deep breath. "You really did it. You really do care about me!"

Rarity smiled, looking down at herself. "And I didn't even have to get too dirty." Standing up, she shuddered at the thought of how sweaty she'd gotten. "Still... I think a visit to the spa is in order."

"Aww!"

Twilight Sparkle stepped up to them, cutting Sweetie Belle's protest short. "Come on now, Sweetie Belle. Your sister did something you like, so you can go with her and do something she likes. Isn't that fair?"

Sweetie Belle shrugged. "Yeah. I guess so."

S02E06 The Cutie Pox

View Online

"I'm sorry, Applejack! I dunno how to make it stop!"

Applejack looked at her little sister and winced. "Well, I know somepony who might!"

* * *

"Three cutie marks. Three talents. I've never seen anything like it!" Twilight tapped a hoof to her chin. "I was just reading something about unusual equine illnesses. What was it?"

"Perplexing Pony Plagues, perhaps? " Spike came hopping down the stairs with the book in his claws.

Twilight smiled. "Yes, Spike, you're amazing!" She wasted no time in cracking the book open. "Hay fever... the trots..." She gasped. "Cutie pox!"

"Cutie pox?" Everyone else shouted.

"Cutie pox. This puzzling pony plague afflicted a population of ponies back in the paleopony period! Random cutie marks appeared all over the ponies' bodies, causing them to perform all the talents that came with them!"

"Just like me!" Apple Bloom said.

"Yes, but what's the cure?" Applejack trotted in place. "What's the cure?"

"It says there's no known cure."

Everyone else shouted again, "No known cure?"

Twilight waved a hoof at them. "Don't worry. Just because the book doesn't know a cure doesn't mean I can't make a cure on the spot." Her horn began to glow. "Now, hold still, Apple Bloom. This might feel strange."

"Sacrebleu!" Apple Bloom looked down at her flank, now adorned with another mark. "Plus de marques de cutie!"

In a moment, though, Twilight's magic washed over her, blasting the marks away. Finally, she was able to stop tap-dancing. She was free.

"Gee, thank ya, Twilight." Applejack hugged her sister. "I wouldn't have known what to do if it wasn't for you."

"Any time." Twilight grinned back. "That's what friends are for."

S02E07 May the Best Pet Win!

View Online

Rainbow jumped down from her tree branch. "Hey, now wait a minute! Just because I don't have a pet now doesn't mean I never want a pet!"

"Ohh! Oh, really? You really want a pet? Really?" Fluttershy caught her and dragged her away. "Because I have exactly the pet for you!"

* * *

Rainbow Dash stared at it. "A turtle?"

"Tortoise."

"Fluttershy, this is not flying or cool."

Fluttershy pushed the two of them closer together. "Rainbow, remember when you said you owed me one?"

"No."

Fluttershy smiled. "Well, way back in flight school, when you'd gotten your tail stuck in the locker, remember when I..."

"Oh." Rainbow rubbed the back of her head. "Right. Let's not re-live that again."

"Well, I'm calling in my debt. This tortoise is the perfect pet for you, and you need to trust me... if that's okay with you."

Rainbow winced. "But... Fluttershy. It doesn't fly! How am I supposed to take him home?"

"No problem! Here, I keep these around for pegasai who come looking for pets." Fluttershy rushed inside, then back out, holding some propeller with a strap. "They're good for keeping all kinds of animals up in the sky where pegasai can enjoy them."

A few minutes of fumbling with straps, and the tortoise was flying around merrily.

"Well..." Rainbow watched it careen around. "It is flying now... and big."

Fluttershy winked. "That's two out of three!"

"But it's still not cool. Can't I have that falcon instead?"

Fluttershy had to duck to avoid the flying tortoise. A moment later, it smashed into the falcon, knocking it off its perch with an ungraceful squawk.

Rainbow stared at it. "Oh... heh. That was kind of cool."

"And you do owe me one," Fluttershy added.

"Okay, fine." Rainbow shrugged. "I'll take The Turtle."

"Tortoise."

"Nope. I'm naming him 'The Turtle'. I don't wanna be corrected about it all the time."

Applejack glanced over at Rainbow. "Awesomely heroic that day and awesomely arrogant ever since."

"Mm-hm." Pinkie and Twilight nodded.

"So," Twilight asked, "what are we going to do about it?"

Applejack winked. "Well, I've always figured honesty is the best policy." She walked over to Rainbow Dash and shoved away the adoring fans. "Rainbow, can we talk?"

"Well, I am pretty busy with all my fame, but I guess I can spare a minute with an old friend." Rainbow led Applejack to a quieter corner. "So, what's up?"

"Rainbow. You've gotten a big head."

She laughed. "Applejack, my head's the same size it's always been."

"No, no. You're getting full of yourself. Too proud and too arrogant. It's fine to be awesome and all, but it's not good to shove it in everypony's faces."

Rainbow rolled her eyes. "But..."

Applejack stopped her with a stare. "Remember Trixie?"

"Yeah."

"Don't be Trixie."

It took a few moments for it to sink into Rainbow's head. "Oh! I get it!"

"You get what?" Applejack looked on hoping it had worked.

"I can still be awesome, but I just need to be nice about it, too." Rainbow smiled.

"Well..." Applejack shook her head. "Close enough."

"Oh, don't be so modest!" Twilight waved. "This dress you made is beautiful!"

Everywhere around the garden, ponies gasped. Everyone froze.

Rarity's other four friends gathered in behind Twilight. "We all think so!"

Fancy Pants leaned down to Rarity. "You know these ponies?"

"Yes. Yes I do know them. They are my friends, and they are, without a doubt, the most important ponies I know."

"Important ponies?" Jet Set shook his head. "These ruffians?"

At that moment, Princess Celestia entered the garden. After an obligatory bow from everyone present, she smiled at Twilight. "There you are, Twilight. I thought I might come in for a quick visit to your birthday party since it's in Canterlot this year." She looked around. "It looks like you've merged your birthday party with the Canterlot Garden Party. That's quite an honor for them."

The Canterlot nobles all stood staring at Celestia with their jaws hanging open.

"Well, don't mind me, ponies. This should be about Twilight and her friends." Celestia winked at Rarity. "Please do continue the festivities."

"Uh, no problem..." Junebug walked away a little faster than necessary. "H-Happy birthday, Spike!"

"What are you doing?" Twilight intensified her glare. "You're out here demanding gifts now?"

Spike blinked. "Wow, you're right, Twilight. I don't know what got into me. Thanks for snapping me out of it. I'd better go give Cheerilee her hat back."

"Oh no you don't." Twilight teleported the hat back to Cheerilee with barely a thought. "I'm taking you back home. I've been reading a book called How to Train Your Dragon, and it has some pretty specific warnings about greed."

Spike sighed, but he followed her back to the library.

Twilight looked at her squabbling friends in the theater's back room. This was hopeless.

She shook her head. "I'll just do the whole thing."

"Well, thank you, Mr. Filthy—" Cheerilee winced at the look he gave her. "I mean, Mr. Rich. What a wonderful day of sharing! And thank you for being a part of Family Appreciation Day! Now, uh, let's see who will be bringing in a family member for next Monday's Family Appreciation Day." She scanned her paper. "Um... Oh! Apple Bloom!"

"But Miss Cheerilee. Monday is zap apple harvest day, and Applejack and Big McIntosh will be too busy to come and speak."

"Oh... well, what about your par—" Cheerilee stopped herself just before mentioning Apple Bloom's parents. Touchy subject, better avoid that. "Never mind. We'll just shuffle the schedule around a little..." She made a few marks on her paper. "There. Next week, Snips can be the one to bring his family in, and Apple Bloom will be the week after that."

"On no... now who are we going to get for a babysitter?" Missus Cake nearly swooned.

Pinkie sidled up, a wide smile on her face.

"Wait..." Mister Cake's eyes opened wide. "What if we didn't need one?"

Pinkie frowned.

Mister Cake grinned wide. "Honeybuns, you stay home and take care of the twins. I'll take Pinkie and get this catering order done."

"Surprise!" everyone yelled out at once.

Applejack jumped back and nearly lost her hat, but she quickly regained her composure. "Well, I'll be... Ya'll put together a whole surprise party just for me?"

"How'd it go? How'd it go?" Pinkie asked, jumping toward her.

Applejack smiled and crossed her front legs. "The blue ribbon in every single event, naturally."

"Wow, Applejack!" Twilight trotted up next to her. "That's a new record. Nopony's ever won all the events before!"

"You ready to do your part?" Applejack whispered in Twilight's ear.

She winked. "You bet."

Time Turner flipped the hourglass over, and with that, the race to produce cider was on.

The Apple family jumped to it, taking an early lead.

The Flim Flam brothers, though, seemed to be having some problems. "Why won't it work?" Flam asked.

"I don't know, brother of mine!" Flim replied. "But it's the magic. Our magic isn't powering the machine!"

* * *

Twilight watched from a hill above the action, grinning to herself. She could feel Flim's and Flam's magic pressing against her inhibitor spell, but there was no way they could overpower her.

The Apple family would be saved.

Twilight Sparkle walked up to two of her friends. "Hey, Rarity. Hey, Pinkie Pie. What are you looking at?"

"Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie answered. "Rainbow Dash! Isn't she the most daring devil? I mean, the most devilish darer? I mean—"

"She's dazzling," Rarity crooned, her head turning to watch Rainbow's sweep across the sky.

Pinkie bounced and smiled. "Ooh, yeah, that's a good word. She's dazzling!"

But Rainbow's routine took a turn for the worse, spiraling out of control. Everypony gasped.

Pinkie screamed, "A-yi-yi-yi-yi!"

But Twilight took action. She fired up a spell just in time, teleporting Rainbow safely next to the three of them.

"So much for dazzling," Pinkie mumbled.

"Hey!" Rainbow stomped her hooves. "What was that about?"

Rarity glared at her. "Be gracious, Rainbow. Twilight just saved you from a horrendous crash."

"I didn't need saving. I was doing fine on my own. Nothing bad would have happened." Rainbow shuffled back and forth for a moment, glancing back up at Rarity. "And, um, thanks, I guess."

Rarity grinned.

"Ugh! I gotta go." In a blur, Rainbow shot back up into the sky.

Twilight recoiled from running into the three fillies. "Oh my goodness, I didn't even see you there. I'm so so sorry."

Apple Bloom shook her head, then smiled. "Aw, it's okay, Twilight. It was an accident."

"I've just been reading the most fascinating book about Hearts and Hooves Day. Did you know that this holiday got its start because of a love potion?"

"Did you say a love potion?" Sweetie Belle's eyes went wide.

"That's right. It even has the recipe."

Now Sweetie Belle was looking particularly devious. "I... don't suppose we could borrow that book for a little while, do ya?"

"Of course you–" Then it clicked. Twilight narrowed her eyes at the three fillies. "Wait... why do you want to read about a love potion recipe?"

"Oh..." Scootaloo put her best innocent filly face on. "No reason."

Twilight raised an eyebrow. "I think I'm going to play it safe this time. No love potions for you... not just yet."

"Oh, you're sorry! Well, then, everything is fine!"

Pinkie cringed back. "... It is?"

"No!" Cranky bore down on her. "It isn't! Listen to me, kid, I will never be your friend!"

"Never, or never-ever?" Pinkie could barely hold herself together. It was the most horrible thing she'd ever heard. She backed out through the door.

"Never, ever, ever, ever, ever!" Cranky slammed the door in her face.

"That's four 'evers'." Pinkie sat down, the dread growing in her. "That's like... forever!" She tapped a hoof to her head. "Think, Pinkie! What are we going to do about this?" She gasped. "I know!"

* * *

Pinkie and her six friends stood in front of Cranky's door. Pinkie knocked.

"Get lost, kid. I don't want any more..." Cranky's eye showed through the peephole. "What are all these ponies doing here?"

"We're here to show you the magic of friendship!" Twilight stepped forward, her tiara glittering.

The door opened. Cranky stepped out. "Now look here, I don't want any more distractions. I came here for some peace and quiet and–" He cringed when he saw the magic building up. "What are you..."

All six of them began to glow, and multicolored beams of light swirled out of their necklaces.

"Really?"

The beams merged into one huge rainbow and crashed into the donkey, swirling around him in a blinding flash.

A moment later, six mares and one donkey picked themselves up off the ground, most of them rubbing their heads.

Cranky shook on his hooves. He touched his newly restored head of hair. "Wow... I feel... wonderful!"

Sidling up to him, Pinkie leaned in close. "Wanna be best pals?"

He paused for a long moment, his eye twitching as if some buried thought was bothering him, but then he shrugged it off. "Sure."

Pinkie pumped her hoof in the air. "Elements of Harmony. Sixty percent of the time, it works every time."

He held up a cookbook page with a very complicated salad on it.

"I'm not sure I can even make that. Well... I don't want you to starve... Oh, are you sure I can't tempt you with a nice crisp piece of–"

Angel slapped the lettuce out of her hoof and shoved the book into her face.

"That's enough!" Fluttershy stomped her hoof.

The bunny stood strong against her... until she brought out The Stare.

Fluttershy stared into his eyes. "You are going to be a nice, obedient bunny, and you are going to eat the lovely salad I already made for you, and that's final." She blinked.

Angel teetered on his back legs for a moment, his head swirling around. He blinked repeatedly.

Fluttershy looked at him.

He hopped over and started eating some of the lettuce that had spilled on the floor.

"That's a good bunny." Fluttershy smiled.

"Is time travel fun, or does it hurt? I have so many questions–"

Future Twilight shoved her hoof into Twilight's mouth. "I have something extremely important to tell you about the future, and I only have a few seconds, so you've got to listen! Whatever you do, don't–" She vanished in a magical flash.

"Future Twilight? Oh no! What was she trying to warn me about? Her clothes, her mane, that scar..." Twilight held a hoof up to her face. "Oh, what a mess she is! ...I mean, I am... or I will be!" She gasped. "She must want me to prevent whatever horrible thing happens in the future!"

With another magical flash, Future Twilight reappeared. "Oh, good. It does work more than once."

"Are you...?"

"Don't talk to me. Don't say anything." Future Twilight stared her down.

Twilight gulped. "Okay."

"Now, whatever you do, don't waste your time worrying about some disaster in the future. I can promise you, everything will be perfectly fine, at least until after Tuesday morning." Future Twilight breathed a deep breath. "Ah. That's better." She looked closely at Twilight. "Got it?"

Twilight nodded. "Everything's fine through Tuesday morning. Got it."

Future Twilight was already beginning to fade away. "Good." She vanished completely, without a magical flash this time, just becoming more transparent until she was gone entirely.

Twilight blinked. She shook her head. "That's weird," she mumbled to herself. "I could have sworn there was someone else with me a moment ago... but I can't quite remember..." She shrugged. "Oh well. I'm sure it'll come to me eventually."

"Nothing!" Twilight threw down another book. "Nothing in this one either!"

"Nothing at all about dragons?" Spike buried his face in his claws. "This is getting ridiculous!"

"I know! It's hard to believe, but ponies know next to nothing about dragons." Twilight shook her head. "Apparently they're too rare and too scary to try to talk to or study."

Spike curled up into a little ball of misery. "I wonder if dragons cry..."

"Aw, Spike, don't forget – you have one more resource we haven't tried yet."

"Huh?"

Twilight grinned. "How about you send a letter to Princess Celestia?"

He jumped up. "Would she really do that for me?"

"Normally I wouldn't bother her about something like this." Twilight shrugged. "But we've definitely done due diligence in finding our own information, and we've come up completely dry. I think we're justified in asking her directly."

"Wow..." Spike stood there, blinking. "Okay."

* * *

Spike paced back and forth, back and forth through the library.

"Relax, Spike." Twilight patted him as he walked by yet again. "If she's taking longer in her reply, that probably just means she's gathering a lot of information. It'll be worth it."

"I know, I know..." Spike didn't stop pacing. "It's just that–" He did stop. His cheeks bulged out, and he burped out a huge plume of green smoke.

The smoke resolved itself into a huge scroll, then dropped to the floor.

Spike pounced on it, scanning through it voraciously.

Twilight grinned, watching him.

"Hmm... Mmhm. Yep. Oh... wow... Huh. That's cool." Finally reaching the end of the scroll, Spike wrapped it back up.

"So, Spike, what did you learn about being a dragon?" Twilight could hardly wait to find out all the new information.

Spike blew his flames over the scroll, burning it away into a pile of ash. "Private dragon stuff." He waddled away.

"You were so close to the eight hundred wing power minimum!" Twilight hung her head low. "I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash."

Rainbow pulled her head out of the tree. "We've got to try again!"

"But you've pushed your crew to their limit already!" Twilight yanked Rainbow back. "If you break apart again, somepony could get hurt! You should quit, it's not safe!"

Rainbow shook her head. "No! One more time! I've gotta know we gave it our all! If I'm going down, I'm going down flying!"

Spitfire fluttered over. "Now that is the kind of spirit I like! Tell ya what, Dash: I'll be 'from Ponyville' for a day, and we'll get the job done. Together. What do you say?"

"Yes!" Rainbow did a little spontaneous back flip. "C'mon, ponies, let's make this happen!"

All of Ponyville's Pegasus ponies rushed back into action, including one honorary Ponyvillian. The tornado rose strong, draining the reservoir in short order and sending the water in a long, graceful arc all the way to Cloudsdale.

Rainbow Dash and Spitfire landed side-by-side.

"You showed some real spirit there, Dash." Spitfire punched Rainbow in the shoulder. "You'll make a fine Wonderbolt some day."

Rainbow didn't say anything. It was doubtful she could, with how widely she was smiling.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some new trainees to whip into shape. Gotta go!" Spitfire launched off into the distance.

Rainbow just sat there, squealing. She didn't notice Fluttershy quietly making her way in.

"Hi, Fluttershy," Twilight called out.

"Oh, Hi Twilight." Fluttershy looked around. "Am I... am I too late?"

"Yeah." Twilight shrugged. "Spitfire chipped in and they did just fine."

Fluttershy shrank down. "Oh. I hope Rainbow won't be mad."

Twilight looked over at Rainbow. The pegasus was still sitting, staring in the general direction of Cloudsdale with a huge grin on her face. "No," Twilight said, "I think Rainbow's going to be perfectly okay with it."

"I've got something to say! She's evil!" Twilight pointed an accusatory hoof at Cadance.

Everypony froze.

"Are you sure?" Celestia asked. "I trust you, of course, but this is quite the accusation."

Twilight nodded. "I'm sure."

"But... but... I'm not... I can't be evil!" Cadance broke down into tears. "What's happening? Why is she doing this to me?"

"Don't worry." Celestia gave a calm smile. "I have a simple spell that should clear up any misunderstandings. It reveals lies and deceptions."

Cadance's eyes went open wide. She grimaced.

"Right you are, Twilight." The changeling cackled. "And as queen of the changelings, it is up to me to find food for my subjects. Equestria has more love than any place I've ever encountered. My fellow changelings will be able to devour so much of it that we will gain more power than we have ever dreamed of!"

"No. You won't." Princess Celestia stalked toward her. "Now that I have revealed your true self, I can protect my subjects from you!" She took to the air and fired an intense beam of golden energy toward Queen Chrysalis.

The Queen shot back her own green beam, smashing it into Celestia's and even beginning to push it back.

Celestia winced. "Twilight! I little assistance, please?"

"Of course!" A violet beam shot out from Twilight's horn toward the changeling.

It, too was blocked and countered by a green beam, but with her magic split in two directions now, Chrysalis was losing ground on both fronts. "No! Fools! My army will–"

The violet and gold beams met in the middle, blasting the changeling away, straight through one of the stained glass windows of the hall.

Twilight stood there a moment, panting. "Whew... I wasn't expecting her to be that strong."

"Indeed." Celestia took a deep breath and twisted her neck back and forth, making a slight cracking sound. "Now, how about we go find the real Princess Cadance and get this wedding back on track?"

Twilight smiled. "You can count on us!"
