Dream Valley's teacher suffers a nervous breakdown, courtesy of her pupils. It seems nopony will take on a classroom full of delinquent fillies and colts... until a teacher from the past literally pops up one day. But an out-of-time teacher? This could be good. 
Especially that this school appears to have half-demon students. 
Just as I expected, Cheerilee needs to teach, but her information is dusty. Comedy will ensue shortly. Pinkie! We need popcorn! The extra large bag this time!

This story is worth reading so far I mean it takes one person with a seeing condition to Scare Cheerilee off on her first day.

Oh God. I got that reference almost 2 milliseconds -after- I had that same thought about the alcove. Oh God. OH GOD.
The end of the last chapter REALLY got to me. ANYONE (human or pony) who harms a mentally challenged person in that matter ought to die in a red pool of blood or lit on fire and left their remains to burn. Great chapter though! Can't wait to find out what happens next.

This was some great update and a nice way of pointing out how tough someone like Baby Quackers has it with a rough mom. It truly got to me within this chapter. I sure do hope that Cheerilee can do the right thing.
Plus I want to see how you do Surprise Pony, and show why she so inspriational to Pinkie Pie Character.

Nice update as it seems that the return of 80s Cheerilee was a nice surprise for this chapter.

I think Sparkler's suffering far worse being locked up with all those Psychotic G1 villains. Warden Locket has a tendency to look the other way when inmates do bad stuff to mares who do what Sparkler did

First off, Great update to the storyline as Cheerilee finally finds out what happen to the former Ponyville. Her reactions to the destruction of her former home is just...so emotional and just very spot-on.
Still, I would have thought Cheerilee would be a bit smarter to know Diamond Tiara very well, as she was a pain in the flank due to her snobbish attitude and her wealthy upbringing.
I also liked the references you made to your other stories as well as the references you made ot the show overall, as we finally get an answer as to why Time Travel isn't used in you stories. Something bad must have occured within the past that caused time travel to become inffective.
However, given the upcoming Season 2 finale of FIM, couldn't you just hold off on the whole "Twilight's brother" thing, until it's all short out upon what happen to him.
Still overall nice update as it seems that Cheerilee finally gets a mare in her life. I'm willing to bet that the CMCs are smiling down upon her right now.

I would point out that the key is Twilight BELIEVES she is an echo, at the same time that Moondancer is getting ready for her 'soccer mom' crusade against cheerilee. Two things that'll hit her like a ton of bricks, and both at the same time. That may turn everpony against her, don't ya think
Uh oh, it seems that Baby North Star maybe messing with things she can't control.
NIce to see things going well for Cheerilee, but if what Twilight and the others are suggesting, they could break up such a mismatch family that Cheerilee build for herself.

206801 I got that foreboding feeling when Wigwam was talking about how Surprise wanted the construction materials up where "there's nothing up there but a small alcove". Especially after he had just said how Sweet Stuff and Surprise were going to handle (hoofle?) the issue with Sparkler.

, it was Surprise herself who was sealed behind the wall: SURPRISE!
So Cheerilee meets the mysterious biped known as a human. She takes it much better than a lot of the other surprises of this era.
So I guess that Big Mac and Miss Cheerilee WERE able to tear their gazes away from each-others eyes for a little while.
Love springs from Xanth come to mind.
This chapter was very touching.
Apparently I have a dark mind and a dark sense of humor because I imagined Cheerilee Pinkie Promising to try to let the past go, breaking that promise right away, and then Pinkie Pie Zombie bursting out of her coffin shouting "You broke a Pinkie Promise!" like she did in "The Last Roundup", and then confronting Cheerilee. Yes, I know that Pinkie would be nothing but bones by then, but that is what my mind instantly thought of.
For some reason, I'm reminded of Tom Riddle's diary from Harry Potter.
So the book appears as what a pony seems to need it to be.

If Cheerilee really IS a figment from the book, and somewhere, in time the original Cheerilee lived out her life in Ponyville, then Spike would have most likely have been aware of her passing. Wigwam is planning on arranging a meeting between Miss Cheerilee and Spike. I wonder if he is still afraid of zombie ponies. I think that you can see where I'm going with this.
I get the feeling that if Baby North Star really DOES free Ahuizotl, he will probably eat or try to eat her.

-He would know. I mean after being literally hurled into a pit leading there, escaping, and then being sent back there via magical incineration he would be bound to know.

-I take it that Cheerilee will also be responsible for rescuing Dream Valley from same great evil?
