Oh, and I did spot a few minor typos. It seems like you're occasionally using the wrong orientation single/double quotes, which is probably just some bizarre problem with the editor you're using (I'm assuming you're writing this in another program and then copypasting, because otherwise it makes no sense. Oh well, I'll just blame Discord). It's not enough to detract from the story, but you should still look into it.

Loved the battle scene.

That battle scene was a replica of "superstar saga" and "inside story". Nothing new there.

Just the combos that will be pulled off that I can't stop thinking of: elements of harmony/starpower= good game.

Discord and bowser look like the classic brain and brawn combo. Like wario and waluigi... Oh snap, what about them! We need these guys to stir some crap up like popple and rookie (amnesia struck bowser) from superstar saga.

For someone like me, that have played all the Mario and Luigi games this is amazing!

It not only recreates the feeling from FiM, but also adds the quirkiness, the humor and the RPG feeling right into Equestria, all the classic parts like the initial fight with Bowser and the optional tutorial, the strange world, the fights with the mallets, everything was just like the games.

I loved the duet of Luigi and Fluttershy, those two would make amazing comedic scenes.

Also Trixie seems to be something to laugh about.

Would Fawful appear in this game? There is a lot to see and I'm here to read it with a big smile.

In a perfect world, he'd be in it, but I don't want to include him for two reasons:

1. He's an incredibly unique character and I feel like I'd have a hard time writing him while doing him justice.

2. With how I have the story planned, Fawful doesn't fit in at all. Bowser and Discord are the big bads of the story, and Bowser hates Fawful to no end, so I can't see them working together. Besides, after being his own villain, I can't see him stepping back and being someone's minion. And if I were to include Fawful as a rogue element, it would take away from Discord's presence in the story.

Overall, while I'd like to include him, it's just not doable.

I'd offer to help, but I'm not that good with making games. Aside from writing and thinking up ideas, I would likely not be very helpful. But I'll definitely keep an eye out for when this becomes a game! The fic itself is hilarious and awesome already!

In-story reasons: Firstly, Mario and Luigi are the most able fighters out of the group, therefore, they're going to attract a lot of aggro from most monsters. Also, roughly half of the enemies are Bowser's forces, and their largest concern is the brothers. Finally, given their skill in fighting, protecting the less combat-experienced ponies and keeping them out of the way seems the natural thing to do.

Out-of-Story reason: I'm writing this with the game in mind, and Mario and Luigi are typically the only ones that fight, barring their toddler selves in PiT and Bowser in BIS. I tried to think of a way to include the ponies as fighters, perhaps having them as swappable partners, ALA Paper Mario, but I felt it wouldn't work too well, as some characters don't work too well as fighters (mainly Fluttershy and Rarity, despite what we've seen of them in the show that points to the contrary). Instead, I decided to use them as the source of the Bros. Attacks (or, as they'll be called in the game, Friend Attacks), and introduce them in a similar way to Superstar Saga, where they learn an overworld ability that relates to a combat ability.

For those of you playing at home, the attacks revealed so far are:

Mario:

Spin Bros. with Luigi (Same as SS, not to appear in story, no overworld ability)

Mega Mario with Twilight (Mini Mario in overworld)

??? with Applejack (Buck in overworld)

??? with Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy

Partners in Time with Dr. Whooves (Side Quest A attack)

Luigi:

Bounce Bros. with Mario (see Spin Bros. above)

Green Missle with Pinkie Pie (Party Cannon in overworld)

??? with Rarity (Dowse in overworld)

??? with Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy

??? with ??? (Side Quest B attack)

So, the ponies aren't completely out of the fight, but they play more of a support role in combat than previous M&L RPG allies.

Well, I feel kinda pissed off if you're gonna render Fluttershy down to Luigi's cowardice levels. While I know he can be awesome when pushed or when tagged with Mario, Fluttershy is more than capable of coping for herself, at least more than Luigi.

Remember that Twilight can teleport and that the Two pegasi can carry them.

And why Luigi? And how does he belch them? Don't they come out of his hands (at least after using a Fire Flower)

Yeesh. Does it always have to be Luigi who's the butt monkey? Does he have an aura that gets everyone else to do this on him? Because I don't think Twilight and co. would keep doing this all the time.
