Hey did you steal this from Hasbro, because it seems almost EXACTLY like what I think they will do when Trixie returns in Season 3 Episode 3.

That was a nice lil story, I think there are a few things you can do to give it a bit of a bump up though. I would have this set before Twilight tried to get into Celestia's school for gifted unicorns, you could have her say something about the next day they were supposed to try and get into the school together but she couldnt find Trixie and thats when she got scooped up by Celestia. The only other thing I can think of atm is adding a lil more to Twilight telling Trixie that she was her only friend, that untill she got to Ponyville she gave up on having anymore friends after Trixie.

No, but I randomly thought about Trixie's relevance to the show, so I watched the beginning and ending of her episode. As it played out, there was room to play with the idea that Twilight and Trixie may have known each other when they were fillies and I got excited to play with that idea.

That idea of "Twilight giving up on friends after Trixie" was originally planned to be written in and now that you bring it up I'm almost disappointed I didn't somehow include it. The way it was flowing made that extra detail seem trivial at the time, but upon further thought, I could've continued Twilight's flashback a bit longer to show the audience that. I guess I was afraid I would make it too "telly" so I left it floating in the air for the audience to come to that conclusion, and that's just plain lazy writing...now I'm mad at myself....I'M. SO. PATHETIC!!!

I dont think you even have to make it a flash back, I think making it more telly would work better since it would enable us to see Trixies's reaction to it, just a simple line with Twilight saying till she hadn't had another friend till she moved to Ponyville would be fine, I think it would also work a bit better to convince Trixie that Twilight never betrayed her.
