What doesn't quite seem to add up here is why Flurry Heart didn't tell Night Light that it was her idea on the previous night. They were (presumably) alone in her bedroom, there is zero cost to her to do so, and Night Light's reluctance was already well-known. (Before I got to the part of the third chapter where this was clearly a ruse, I was wondering why Twilight Velvet didn't just have a genderswap spell cast on her. That way a vigorously consenting grandfather would be available.)

Best question I've had so far. While I don't outline that why, the intention was for it to be the biological grandfather so a genderswap spell wouldn't be valid. Except in maybe a case where there is no grandfather or father to carry out the tradition. And as Flurry explained, she didn’t know how to react or feel so she probably also didn't know what to say.
I'm not sure how to feel about the story. On the one hand, I like the beginning, with Twilight x Night. I was hoping for a slower movement of time and more focus on Twilight x Night maybe some more conflict with Velvet but it's all been skipped in my opinion. I never thought Velvet would become part of this story at the end of "Arc 1" but now we skip a whole lot of stories to get to a new herd. I would suggest you take a breath and maybe start 'Arc II' from the beginning, it just feels like the story is all too rush. Take care :)

I put a lot of time into Shattered Pages and it turned out great. I'll fully admit that Turn the Page was a rush job. I do have two commissions coming down the pipe though. Both should be better than this one.
