I've always been a lover and writer of fanfiction, but it wasn't until I got into MLP that I really found something I loved writing about. Hope you all enjoy.

This story is a sequel to Yugioh EQG: Ω Zenith

Years after the defeat of Zeronull and his evil, Duelling is still the world favourite past time. And now, Duellist new and old will come together in order to compete in an all new tournament. Who will win? Who will lose? Let's find out.

Looks like it’s time to D-D-D-D-Duel!

Nice! This'll be fun to read. Especially with the Deck Master Rule. I liked that in the Virtual World arc.

Back to one of your original series', and the one that got me interested in you to begin with.

Seven years since the defeat of Zeronull and his zealots (also technically four years since the end of the previous story, since the last chapter of that had a three year time-skip). It looks like a lot has happened since then. Twilight's Link Vrains is finally ready and is going to be showed off with a Deck Master tournament. I always enjoyed the Deck Masters and thought they added an interesting element. Looks like the first duel of the tournament will once again feature Flash, and this time he'll be facing off against Sunset Shimmer. They haven't faced each other since the first story in the series, assuming you can call what happened a "duel" since Sunset basically just ended a free-for-all Battle Royale with two quick Hinotama cards.

On a lesser note, it is great to see that Flash and Twilight are finally married here and Twilight is pregnant with their first child. I wonder if the story will end with her giving birth after the tournament?

It is Time to Duel! Deck Set! Into the VRAINS!

Cyberse. Does that mean there will be Link Monsters along with Pendulum Monsters.

Oh my god, this is incredible, I didn't think you would make a sequel to your YuGiOh stories again.

Those stories of yours were the first ones I read here on fimfiction and they were the ones that inspired me to write my own stories, which is why it feels so good to see you make a sequel and this time it's a tournament without any sinister reason.

I am very selective when it comes to tournaments in shonen anime, tournaments are almost always my favorite arcs and every good shonen must have an epic tournament.

But there are times when a break is needed, that is, a tournament without the world being in danger, examples of that type of tournaments would be:

- The Grand Championship in Kaibaland (YuGiOh DM)
- The 21 Tenkaichi Budokai (Dragon Ball)
- The DELUXE (Cardfight Vanguard Will+Dress)
- And every other Pokémon League.

Those are my favorite tournaments because they are where the world is not at risk, only fights for glory, and that is why my first story started like this, (Although later I fell into temptation and it became a little more shonen, with a tournament with villains but that not the point)

PS: I'm not accusing you of anything because I never published it, but I was thinking about making a bigger tournament in my supposed final Cardfight Vanguard story, but I thought it wouldn't be good to write a tournament for the final after a serious plot, and I scrapped it. the idea, but it seems like you also thought something similar, I'm sure you'll do it right.

Now here are my predictions about the duels and my reasons:

- Flash VS Sunset, with victory for Flash.
- Spike VS Smolder with victory for Spike.
- Sandbar VS Gallus, with victory for Sandbar.
- Fluttershy VS Trixie with victory for Fluttershy.
- Fizzlepop Berrytwist VS Silver Stream with victory for Fizzlepop.
- Wallflower VS Ocellus, I don't know who could win there.
- Apple Bloom VS Yona with victory for Apple Bloom.
- Scootaloo VS Sweetie Belle with victory for Scootaloo.

And here are the reasons why I believe that.

- I'm not saying that Flash defeated her because he was the protagonist, but because he never had a worthy revenge.

- I think Spike would defeat Smolder but he would let her know that he doesn't hold a grudge against her since he knows that she is not to blame for anything of what Garble did, and she could use a deck similar to Garble deck and I bet Spike knows how to counter it, Spike never defeated Garble in the story, but Flash and Sunburst did, so this could be good for him, besides Spike deserves a victory on camera, in the last story he couldn't stand out and you left him his rival (Heath) to Sunburst when he already save Starlight, and in the story before that, XX, when he beat Heath, Starlight kill his mood in the same chapther so quickly, and Smolder can be stronger than Garble and I bet she will make things hard for Spike.

- Sandbar Vs Gallus it was difficult to decide who would win, but since I thought Sandbar would advance a lot in the tournament, I thought he would fight Flash at some point, plus it would be epic to see a battle against his best friend, I think Sandbar and Gallus are It's best to friends be the only men in the group, just look at Spike and Big Mac, so its gonna be an interesting duel.

- Fluttershy would defeat Trixie because of what happened in XX where Trixie defeated Fluttershy, now that Fluttershy has grown as a duelist and person, she can take revenge on Trixie.

- And I only said it would be Fizlepop VS Silverstream just because of the movie, I don't really have any other reason, and we know how powerful Fizlepop is.

- And a battle between the most shy girls, not counting Fluttershy, Wallflower Blush VS Ocellus, there I really don't know who will win, nor can I decide who deserves it more.

- And the following predictions were made by discard.
But if Yona had to face a Crusader, it would be Apple Bloom by force.
Which would leave Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, another battle between great friends.

Those are my predictions which would be perfect for the next round, because I think they would be:

- Flash VS Fizzlepop with victory for Flash.
- Spike VS Fluttershy with victory for Spike.
- Sandbar VS the winner of the duel between Wallflower and Ocellus with victory for Sandbar.
- And finally Apple Bloom VS Scootaloo with victory for Scootaloo.

Let's see how my predictions go, good luck.

Speaking of Garble, I do hope Spike gets proper payback against him at some point.
Like Spike losing his deck to him(and needing Flash to get it back for him) and never got a rematch against Garble for that shameful defeat felt pretty weird honestly.
Like you can say Spike has improved, but him never getting to settle the score with that embarrassment kind of makes it awkward.
Like wouldn't it make sense for Spike to make up for that humiliation since it shows he's not the same guy as before from the start of the series?

I know I haven't read this series yet(only known stuff via TV Tropes) but I felt like saying this anyway.

Am I gonna have to wait until February 8th for the next chapter.

11814638
Well whatever. You've got other stories you haven't finished yet, so it makes sense why it takes so long.

11814638
By the way, I'm creating my own MLP story. This one's based on the main series MLP only with a few differences.

11814126
I bet Spike will summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8 during his Duel.

The first two matches for the tournament are off to a good start. Sunset's ability to restore her life points have always made her a difficult opponent, especially when she is able to restore them all to how they originally were. But Flash is making his counterattack on her, especially now that he has Flash Heart Dragon Alpha out.

I like the decks for Smolder and Ocellus. The insect deck suits Ocellus, plus I have always liked her Deck Master, Insect Knight.

Flash's first duel in the tournament is over. Sunset put up a really good fight, but Flash's new cards and bond with his deck allowed him to overcome it. Plus, I liked how he used one of Jaden's combos with Emergency Provisions and Mirage of Nightmare. I guess it's going to be awhile before we see Flash duel again since we still have a lot of other duelists to watch first. Speaking of which, the duel between Ocellus and Smolder is reaching its climax, with Ocellus now having her Deck Master on the field.

At the same time, Flurry and her parents were watching and the little girl jumped to her feet.

"Yeah!" She cheered, "go Uncle Flash! Destroy that lame Synchro Monster." Shining covered his chest, looking like he had just been stabbed. They watched, as Ecliptor raised his staff and began to channel energy into it.

Flurry cheering for her uncle while being innocently insensitive to her parents and the rest of her family is pretty funny, since she's the only member of her direct family that doesn't use Synchro Summoning as her exclusive method.

Very nice battles. I loved Flurry Heart accidentally hurting her father's pride.

The duel between Ocellus and Smolder was fun. I am a bigger fan of Ocellus, but understand that Smolder has a bigger importance to the plot of the story.

Now we have two more duels going on, featuring two of the Crusaders as well as Spike and Fluttershy. Fluttershy seems to have her own strategy going with Sweetie Belle right now. I like how Spike has his rematch with Apple Bloom here. Can he redeem his defeat against her from years ago?

That person was Spike, who ran through the tunnel and turned a corner before spotting a light. He rushed for it, running through it and finding himself outside. He was standing atop a stone castle, having just stepped out of a tower exit onto a part of the rampart.

The part he was on continued for a few feet, then split into a T shape before ending on both sides as a round section of two smaller tower areas.

Spike looked back at the castle and found it looked familiar. "Did Twilight recreate the Duellist Kingdom Castle? Cool."

Clever, the same spot where Yugi and Kaiba had their second duel. Though obviously nobody will threaten to commit suicide to win like Kaiba did.

Well, my predictions were not correct, but anyway those were great duels, I'm happy for Smolder, with the trash of a brother she had, I imagine that nothing has been easy for her, so Im glad she won despite I really like Ocellus too, but now we have a Spike and Apple Bloom rematch, I hope he can also have a rematch in this tournament with Fluttershy but for that, he nees to be stronger, and Im sure Apple Bloom dont gonna make it easier.

Nice ending to Fluttershy and Sweetie's duel. I like the homage to Fluttershy winning the same way Yugi did, since that was one of my favorite conclusions of the virtual duels. Also, even though Sweetie didn't win, I liked her strategy of lowering Bloom Diva's ATK to zero. That's already a powerful card but amazingly lowering its ATK just makes it stronger.

Spike and Apple Bloom's duel is nearing its end. Roar of the Mighty Dragon was used just like in their last duel, but this time Spike survived the final attack. Now, we wait and see if he can make a comeback.

I also thought all the misfortune Gallus went through trying to find his opponent was funny, especially since Silverstream apparently went through the same herself but had fun with it. This is just a guess, but are they romantically involved here, based on the nickname she has for him?

AWESOMEEEEE.

It was a spectacular duel, I almost fainted when it seemed that Apple Bloom was going to defeat Spike but he was clever and learned from his defeat last time, I'm proud of him cause he seemed weaker than the crusaders, I know it doesnt mention it, but if they have enough wins to apply to the Celestic Cup and Spike not, one can tell, but now he can finally prove to the world his strenght without depending on his friends or family, it's not personal but if it's Fluttershy's turn as his opponent I hope he can give his best cause most of his defeats in Double X will be avenged.

And wow, I definitely didn't expect the Young Six to face each other so soon, damn it's going to be a surprise since I can't imagine any of them losing at this point in the tournament.

Yay for Spike, Aw for Applejack. Now we're getting to see the rest of the Young Six's Decks. What do you guys think and which Deck do you like the most so far? Let me know.

Umm, dont you mean Apple Bloom?

The decks are pretty cool. Also, loved that joke with Sandbar and the soda machine in the desert. I remember that from Family Guy.

This is going well so far. Spike managed to take the win against Apple Bloom, avenging his previous loss to her and advancing to the next round. He and a few others all have goals of taking down Flash in this tournament, but Spike definitely seems like he's going to go far.

Half the duels of the first round are done already, and with the rest of the Young Six facing off right now, that only leaves four more duelists left to find their opponents. Speaking of which, I am really enjoying all of the Young Six's decks so far.

Hope that Wallflower can win her duel. Plant creatures are fun.

This was pretty fun. We got to see two Ritual Monsters in action, one of which being the legendary Black Luster Soldier. Too bad they were both quickly dealt with.

Gallus managed to pull off some very impressive moves, including the one that won him the Duel. Now with Scootaloo and Wallflower Blush facing each other, that pretty much reveals by process of elimination what the final duel of the first round will be.

"Maybe," Gallus smirked. "Or maybe I'm just too awesome to be beaten." His smile then softened. "But seriously. You were great. I really had to pull out all the stops."

"Aw, you're too kind." She pinched his cheeks. "You better keep Dueling. And do it with a smile on your face. Remember, the only reason to Duel is to have fun."

Gallus nodded, "you're right. I'll keep Dueling and having fun. And you'd better watch me give it everything I have. Promise?"

"Promise," Silverstream smiled. The pair stared into each other's eyes, comfort filling their hearts before Silverstream's body began to digitise. "I guess this is it. Good luck, Galley." Gallus' smile fell at the sound of that name, as Silverstream completely vanished.

Oh yeah this settles it. Those two are definitely a thing here, or at least they will be eventually.

So, is Flash still going to be the main character, or is the torch going to end up getting passed?

If there's anything I've learned from the shows and your stories, it's that everything is all fun and games until the main villain shows up and introduces the conflict and the stakes. Next thing you know, the fate of the world is hanging in the balance. Judging by how much fun Flash and everyone else is having at the moment, it's only a matter of time before whoever the main villain is shows up. :trixieshiftright:

11854017 Um, there's no main villain in this. It is literally just a duel tournament.

11854022
Oh, dang. I guess I just got used to your Yugioh stories having stakes then. Never mind. :twilightsheepish:

Well, the first round is almost wrapped up. I bet it will be finished by next chapter, or the one after that if things get stretched out.

Too bad Sandbar lost since I really liked his deck for having so many classic cards like Alexandrite Dragon and Cyber-Tech Alligator. But Yona just played a bit better.

Scootaloo is struggling against Wallflower right now, but Wallflower's life points are extremely low so Scootaloo might be able to make a comeback. Meanwhile the last Duel between Trixie and Fizzlepop has started and Trixie is struggling not only with Fizzlepop outplaying her at every move but the demons of her past too. It is cool getting to see some changes to Fizzlepop's deck since the last time we saw her Duel though.

The other was a black and gold knight, carrying a long staff that had a dinosaur head on the top and dino foot on the bottom. "And Dino Knight, Brachio Staff!"

Sounds a lot like the Black Dino Thunder Ranger, the first role I saw Tommy Oliver in when I was a kid. May Jason David Frank rest in peace.

Dang, I was hoping to see Wallflower move on. At least for this ending, everyone's in a different situation. Flash and Spike VS digital versions of the Paradox Brothers, Fluttershy and Scootaloo trying to solve a Duel Puzzle, and the others in a battle royale. Interesting ideas. Especially looking forward to the Paradox Brothers duel since so many new cards for the Gate Guardian stuff.

This is awesome! The final Duels of the first round wrap up with Scootaloo and Fizzlepop taking the wins. But instead of jumping right into Round 2 as most people expected we have a few special matches taking place instead. Flash and Spike are paired up to duel AIs of the famous Paradox Brothers, Scootaloo and Fluttershy must solve a Duel Puzzle, and Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Fizzlepop are in a Battle Royale with each other to determine the next round kinda like in Battle City.

"Yup. Gotta give it to Twilight. She plans for everything. We could have just been sent to an empty white room, but she took the time to program all this for our amusement. We might have lost, but at least we get to enjoy ourselves." Ocellus nodded, as she saw Fluttershy continue to soak her feet in a lake.

This feels like a dig at "Rollercoaster of Friendship." :rainbowlaugh:

These are really fun. My favorite is the expansion of the Labyrinth Duel, since it is not only a fun Mythology Gag to the one Yugi and Joey had in the first anime, it does a good job working in new rules to accommodate how the game has changed since then. Duel Puzzles are also a bit tricky but they can be fun. Sunset has worked out a solution to it already, but I wonder if anyone can correctly guess it themselves before Fluttershy and Scootaloo?

That Labyrinth Duel is definitely my favorite out of these so far. I want to see what they can do in it.

I solved the puzzle. Start by using Upstart Goblin, then use Mystic Wok on Jinzo. Summon Cyber Dragon with a special summon, then summon the other two machines with Ultimate Offering. Use Two-Pronged Attack by sacrificing the normal monsters to destroy the enemy's. Then attack directly with Cyber Dragon, negating Shrink with Limiter Removal.

Wow. Didn't expect to see characters from the original Yugioh to appear in this series.

Hello author, I would like to ask a question, will you continue the story of Flash, defender of the world?

I knew that Fluttershy could solve the puzzle!

Now we see how Flash and Spike can handle the Labyrinth Duel with Gate Guardian's updated form on the field.

Awesome! The Duel Puzzle is solved, which means Fluttershy and Scootaloo officially advance to the next round. It also proves these demonstrations of other activities in Vrains are getting everyone excited to try them themselves.

Meanwhile, the Battle Royale and Labyrinth Duel seem to be reacting their own climaxes. It was a really nice bait and switch you did with the Paradox Brothers boss monster. Everyone would expect it to be Gate Guardian, but like Flash pointed out that card isn't as great as it used to be in the early years of the game (thanks to power creep), so instead we get its upgraded version Gate Guardian Combined. Twilight certainly pulled the rug out from under Flash on that one.

Fizzlepop smiled. "Normally, yes. But I have a monster in my Grave that changed that." The ghostly image of a monster appeared behind Scarvolt. "Storm Guard Liberator, Chain Claw. This monster lets me summon one high Level Liberator monster when it's in the Graveyard.

Like Elemental Hero Necroshade's ability!

I bet there's gonna be a Fusion Summon involving one monster from each of their Decks.

Great list of duelists for this tournament. Flash, Spike, Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Sunset, Trixie, Fluttershy, Fizzletop, Wallflower Blush, and the human versions of Equestria's Student Six. I'm excited for the first battle. Flash Sentry vs. Sunset SHIMMER. Let the games begin.

Well the Filler Duels are over. They were pretty fun though.

It looks like Spike is feeling a bit down though compared to his brother-in-law. Spike did have problems feeling like he wasn't as good as the rest of his family back in the first story of the series, and it looks like after all Flash has achieved over the years his feelings of being inadequate have started to come back. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for in himself during this tournament.

"Reborn Zombie?" Spike asked, only to realise what kind of situation he was in. "Seriously? A zombie apocalypses?" He had seen enough of those movies to realise that in this situation, there was never just one zombie.

And sure enough, another Reborn Zombie appeared, followed by another and another. Soon enough, the entire street was crawling with zombies and they were slowly making their way towards Spike.

Like something out of The Walking Dead.

Do you mean 'Woah' when they say 'WOW'?

Definitely that final part with Spike feeling weak compared to Flash really got to me.

Especially because in the last story Spike couldn't do much, but besides that I understand how it feels, to try hard for something, but there are guys like Flash who achieve it because they already had the power, it's not bad at all, Flash is a good guy and a great example of a duelist, I just hope Spike achieves great things like him in this story.

But wow, good way to defeat the Gate Guardian, a few months ago I had a duel against him, I was winning but when my opponent summoned that monster everything fell apart, he is really very strong.

Now there are only 8 left, if I could predict anything about the other duels it is that they will be Spike VS Fluttershy and Flash VS Scootaloo.

11887262
And hopefully Spike doing great things such as against world-threatening villains too(instead of just ultimately get taken out in the end).
