Lincoln Loud decided that after not being allowed in his own home during the 'Luck' debacle; to run away and eventually ended up finding Sunset Shimmer having her own troubles upon being accused of being behind 'Anon-A-Miss' during the Christmas season. These two have found eachother as honorary siblings and Sunset decides to bring Lincoln back with her to Equestria.

Lincoln family was stupid during that episode. Everyone has bad luck at times no matter how good they are at something and the solution to the problem of bad luck was even dumber. Having him hide in a mascot costume just to protect everyone from the bad luck. Now I can understand him not wanting to go every single event that his sisters are having considering everyone needs some time for just them. Personally I not sure after they kick out their child because of bad luck they should be allowed to be parents.
Honestly, I don't know how there are almost no TLH and MLP stories.
I mean, with Lucy being a fanatical pony, how hard would it be to think that she would hear rumors about Canterlot City and convince her family to visit the city. Damn, you don't even have to go to the city, since clearly after the friendship games magic began to force its way into the human world, even creating the portal on the island and, if the writer wants it, a portal in Royal Woods or other places.
It was a good first chapter, although Lincoln wants to leave home with the little that happened, well, I don't know; I do not want to say that you should almost kill him as they do in almost the majority of stories based on that chapter of bad luck. Let's say that instead of physical abuse, he received emotional and mental abuse, that they applied the absolute law of ice to him, he would be totally ignored, he would be basically nothing to the family, and when he did get their attention he would only be a cold and empty stare ( I honestly don't know if that would be enough to make me want to leave the house or if it really counts as emotional and mental abuse)
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how you develop the story.

It was a shame that the fic that this is based on didn't go anywhere but it is nice to see this concept picked up again.
There is an argument that Sunset taking care of Lincoln wasn't kidnapping as she was providing shelter to someone who was illegally abandoned but I think that taking him to Equestria would be kidnapping.
That being said I doubt that anyone will prosecute Sunset for this in Equestria. Equestria might be a death world but for the most part Lincoln should be safe.

"Death World" is a trope where the world has lot of dangers that can lead to massive loss of life or destroy the world.
There are things in the show like body snatchers, extreme predators and chimeras, reality bending entities, hostile magical threats, and the sun and moon have to be managed manually so that the world doesn't die.
That being said, Equestria is a cartoon and the inhabitants are basically super beings who are strong able to face world ending threats.
Love the new chapter. TBH, I think Lincoln kinda strikes me of a Unicorn type character.
Hopefully, the Rainbooms/CMC, and the Loud Family will never find a way to Equestria to make "amends" with Sunset and Lincoln. Those bridges are totally gone.
Plus, they will have to deal with a piss-off Twilight, Spike, the Pony Mane Five and CMC. ( Possibly involving the Pony Versions of the Rainboom's own parents and granny. )
AANNDD a very not-too-happy Sun Princess like Celestia ( Who could easily banished/exile/banned them from her kingdom. Or melt them with her fiery wrath.

I wonder if the Louds have thought to look up who Sunset was since she's in the picture he was last seen in, it would give them more of a clue to where Lincoln had been staying at.
It's great that Lincoln is making friends. Having people be there for him would help with the transition period of moving to a new town (not to mention a new dimension and a new body).

They were planning to go to canterlot in the last chapter. The whole bad luck thing was so stupid even professionals have off days. It's part being human having bad luck and not succeeding all the time. The adults in his life were neglectful of their children when they weren't shining like stars. The sisters and Lincoln had to care for the baby most of the time. And Lincoln had deal with everything that went wrong with his sisters. They have a fight he had to settle it so life would be normal.
Well, I have no doubt that Lincoln will be a quick learner, since he spent his time helping all his sisters, he is already used to learning different trades so unicorn magic should not be a problem for his creative mind. And since his magic is related to the stage, would he meet Trixie soon?
He will get along well with Pinkie and Discord.

Oh Discord...Trust me. He lived with Luan for 11 years. He has 10 sisters. He knows chaos.
Yeah I saw Luan April fools pranks were over the top and a lot like the old discord. Nobody enjoyed the pranks to the point where they tried to send her away for the holiday just to get away from the pranks. Pranks should have everyone laughing in the end and the way she always talks through that puppet was creepy like she couldn't express herself without that puppet around and the fact she treated it like a person at times. Discord learned to express himself without hurting others though I still would have liked to see him hanging out with the other girls instead of just hearing about it
Oh, Sunset's human counterpart is still around. That's a great change to the setting that will cause quite a bit of confusion.
The EqG human main cast know about humans and pony counterparts so they would eventually realize that these two aren't the Twilight and Sunset they know, but the Loud family don't.
Since Sunset was the last person Lincoln was seen with people are going to want to question human Sunset about Lincoln's whereabouts.
Yeah, this could cause a lot of legal troubles for human Sunset.

Bullcrap. It will be the Mr. And Mrs. Loud that gets in legal trouble. NOT human Sunset! Remember, they abandoned a minor over a very stupid reason. I highly doubt that the Cops, Judge, and especially the Jury will side with them over a clearly innocent Human Sunset.
They literally don't deserve the custody of Lincoln anyway.
Plus, Sci-Twi can clearly defended her own girlfriend and tell the truth that they don't have or even know about Lincoln.

I'm agreeing with you that the Loud family messed up big time and the parents definitely need to face legal repercussions for abandoning and abusing their son. They also seem to be avoiding taking responsibility for their actions by going after Lincoln directly instead of notifying the police of his potential location.
Sunset did a good thing by taking Lincoln in and taking care of him when he had no one. But the law isn't always just and the courts and legal system are very much willing to punish people for doing the right thing.
The courts are likely to punish the Loud family for what they've done but they are also likely to punish (the wrong) Sunset.
Or in short: the Loud family need to face consequences but human Sunset might get unjustly caught in the crossfire.
