Wallflower Blush is a fan of horror. It's not something that's ever really come up around her friends, Roseluck and Muffins, even after nearly a year of being nearly inseparable. But when the three girls visit the Equestria Land theme park, Wallflower is very excited to ride the park's signature scary ride, Nightmare Moon's Haunted Castle. She doesn't think it'll be too bad, but Roseluck, who's a little bit very terrified of scary stuff, has her doubts... though Muffins seems down for it.
A standalone spinoff story from Shaking Off Bad Memories, which also makes it part of my shared "Conversations-verse" continuity (see my main page; you don't need to have read any of the other stories for this). Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder. Originally written for the Bean's Writing Group prompt "Derpy's Night on the Town".

"I... How... She... We..."
"I going to talk to that girl," said Twilight, "and I'm not going to stop until physics makes sense again."
How Wallflower developed a taste for horror is both entirely believable and kind of heartbreaking.
Pinkie Pie felt strangely uncomfortable for a moment. She decided the hot sauce-glazed peppermint-jelly bean cupcake recipe needed a few more trials.
Reminds me of that one ride at the Epcot Norway pavilion, where your car goes backwards after trolls curse it.
... I swear I wrote the earlier comment before I reached this point.
Wonderful slice of life, even as it reminds me of the many, many questions raised by Equestria Land. Thank you for this.

I was thinking about Maelstrom when I wrote that bit, heh.
She was definitely going there only to see others scared.
Not again. Sorry for that. Ugh…
Well, what did I say before?
You see, Roseluck, the best way to start into horror is with a statue that moves whenever no one is looking at it…
A talking muffin! Aaah!
Great, now Sunset will return to her old past and bully Muffin and Twilight will get consumed by magic again and rip the time-space to finally get that lucky throw…
Hold on. Everything about it raises questions. How is Nightmare Luna known? Why is her actual Equestrian form presented? Did Princess Celestia and Luna went through the portal and funded the attractions to get more income? How would the human Luna react seeing that? You can't just leave these questions open!
Overall, fun and nice story, I really enjoyed reading it
Heh, I could totally relate to Wallflower suddenly becoming obsessed with horror movies. The only difference is that I eventually added a bunch of lighthearted/child-friendly media to my palate.
Also, fun fact: telling your friends your watching MLP less than 24 hours after watching a horror movie with them is the fastest way to make your friends think you're a psychopath

Given my two biggest media interests at the moment are MLP and Nope, I can relate.
I'm partial to Changelings Caverns myself.
Of course there's also Discord Derailment, Tirek's Torrent, Sombra's Spires, The Storm King's Rampage, and The Cozy Cauldron!
Well she'll definitely kick something.
Yeah. Lucky.
Or Muffins has a special talent for breaking anything, including rigged games. That's totally my head canon now.
The last time I went into a haunted house ride I almost fell asleep. It was totally predictable.
That train rides sounds really interesting.
Same, horror is something I never liked.
Probably must of been one hell of an awesome animatronic!
Sometimes I forget rides would often do that. Happen to know 1 ride at Disney world that had that feature til it closed for good in 2018.
