Chapter 1 : The New World
The beach, what a wonderful place. It’s peaceful, calm and sunny. Everything anyone would want after having one of the most exhausting adventures ever. This island was perfect for Sonic. After having to fight himself - what else would he need to unwind and relax? Luckily for him, Tails wasn't trying to use his bodyboard again. Sonic hated the water, mainly because he couldn’t swim. Strange though, because you would have thought that he would have gotten some swimming lessons by this time, but that’s Sonic for you. He prefers to run than learn about swimming.
It had been a month since they had been contacted for any kind of help. Normally, the President had some kind of problem or Doctor Robotnik had another marvelous plan to deploy. Although, all of Robotnik’s plans ended in the same way. Sonic leaned back into his sun chair, with the umbrella above him calling out the harsh sun. With his sunglasses on his head, he fell into a rather relaxing nap. Well, it was relaxing - until Tails came back.
“Hey Sonic!” Tails called out to Sonic as he ran over to him. “I’ve created another swimming machine, do you want to try it out?” Sonic continued to stay static as he considered what Tails had asked him. Yeah, whatever Tails makes is normally fun to use, but on the other hand - it was going to put him near the water. And quite frankly he was just about done with water for the time being.
“No thanks Tails” Sonic replied, pulling his sunglasses down. “You know how I feel about water at the moment, right?”
Tails nodded, showing his look of disappointment on his face.
“So, what exactly is it?” Sonic asked, which then lead up to Tails brightening up a little.
“Oh, it’s a hyper jet ski. It’s got the fastest engine that I could make on it - so it can race across the water!” Tails explained. Sonic sat up from his sun bed and looked at the machine. Yeah, it did look pretty cool. Plus Tails had done an amazing job with the body work.
“That’s cool Tails” Sonic then returned to his lying down position and he closed his eyes again.
“Are you sure you don’t want to try it Sonic?” Tails asked. Sonic once again lowered his glasses, but this time he saw Tails giving a rather adorable set of puppy eyes at him. ‘Oh god, why me?’ Sonic thought as he sighed.
“Alright then” Sonic huffed as he jumped up from his seat.
“Really?” Tails exclaimed as he jumped up in excitement, hovering in the air for a moment. “You would do that Sonic?”
“Yeah, but this thing better not drown me” Sonic managed as he helped Tails pick up the jet ski. They then walked over to the water with the jetski above them. When Sonic dipped his foot in the water a uneasy feeling shivered up his spine as painful memories came into his head. They then lowered it into the water, so it was in a place where it could float.
“There we go!” Tails announced as he quickly tweaked a few things. Sonic looked around the lake of water in front of him, hoping that it wouldn’t be his graveyard in the next few minutes, then again, Tail’s inventions always seemed to work and most of the time they really helped him out: Like when he got Robotnik’s device to work against him. Tails was one clever fox - and Sonic was glad to have met him.
“Is it ready Tails?” Sonic asked, now getting a little anxious. He wanted to get it out of the way, but who knows, maybe he would like it.
“Just a second, one more little tweak” Tails mumbled as he adjusted something else.
“Alright, just let me know when you’re done” Sonic said as he tapped his foot. Patience isn't one of Sonic's strong points, it hasn’t been for a long time. He was the one who wanted things to happen there and then. Then again, he was the fastest creature on the planet.
“Done!” Tails shouted in happiness as he stepped back from the jetski and admired his work.
“You ready Sonic?” Sonic stood hesitantly next to the machine. His eye twitched a little as he considered how many different ways he could end up in the water. But it was now or never.
“Y-yeah” Sonic stuttered as he walked over to the machine and sat on it. “So, how exactly does this machine work?” Sonic asked as he looked at the controls.
“Simple really. Press this button to turn it on” Tails explained as he pressed the on button, causing the engine to roar to life. “And then you twist this handle to put on the throttle” Tails then reached over to the throttle, but Sonic put his hand in the way with an uneasy look on his face.
“Right, right. I get it” Sonic responded quickly, making sure that he was in control. Tails then backed away and let Sonic continue.
“Good luck!” Tails called out as Sonic twisted the handle. Sonic then shot his head around to look at Tails. “What-” he shouted before the jet ski shot away, soaring through the water. He had little control over where he was going as he was barely holding on. ‘DAMN IT TAILS!’ Sonic thought as he tried to pull himself back into the seat. He got his grip back on the handles and he then attempted to pull himself back onto the seat. When he got onto the seat he then looked ahead at what was coming.
Just ahead was a cliff that surrounded the lake, the edge of where he could use this jetski. With the adrenaline running through his body, Sonic took control of the jet ski. He then saw that there was some stray rocks in front of him. Sonic then quickly turned the steering bars and narrowly avoided the first rock. Then he just missed the second one as he turned the other way. He then saw that there was a wall of rocks stopping his path, plus there was a ramp like rock on his right.
Sonic, now in a standing position, steered towards the ramp and sped up towards it. For a few seconds he was in mid air as the jet ski flew over the wall of rocks. To be honest with himself, besides the danger, he was rather enjoying himself. The speed and adventure that he was having was great. The jet ski soon landed in the water again and Sonic turned it so he could avoid the cliff. Safe at last.
With the worst out of the way, Sonic then accelerated to get the jet ski up to full speed. He felt a little bit of water catch his leg from all the splashing that he was causing. Looking behind him, he saw the water fly into the air. Sonic returned his attention to what was in front of him, just plain old water. Sonic then had a idea, a great idea. It was more like revenge, but more subtle.
WIth a slight smirk on his face he turned the jet ski so it was heading back to where Tails was watching. He was heading head on towards Tails at full speed. Tails was just enjoying the fact that Sonic was having fun. This left him oblivious to what Sonic was doing. When Sonic was getting close to Tails he suddenly turned the jetski and sped away, thus forming a wave of water, which covered Tails completely. Tails snapped out of the blindness he was in and shaked the water off him.
“Hey! What was that for!” Tails yelled after Sonic as he stood up in anger.
Sonic then turned around and sped back to Tails.“Oh, just payback for the time that you soaked me!” Sonic shouted back as he sped past Tails again, forming another wave, which, yet again, covered him completely soaking him wet.
“Stop doing that!” Tails yelled at Sonic as he sped away. Sonic sniggered as he enjoyed his sweet revenge. At least it was harmless. Anyway, Sonic was enjoying himself a little too much now as he sped around the lake again. Tails then took the incentive to takes some steps back to avoid getting wet - he’d had enough of that for one day.
About a minute later Sonic turned back to land and made sure that he wasn’t coming in too hot, as he didn’t want to get splashed. So he kept his hand of the throttle and allow the jet ski to float onto the land. After getting off he was greeted by a not-so-happy Tails.
“Uh, heya...” Sonic said nervously as he looked into the eyes of his annoyed friend.
“Hey...” Tails huffed as he crossed his arms and gave Sonic an even more annoyed look. Sonic couldn’t help but feel a little guilty about what he did, but it was only a joke.
“Look, I’m sorry about that” Sonic began as he opened his arms and took off his sunglasses. “I guess I just got carried away” Sonic then rubbed the back of his head and gave off a nervous smile.
“It’s no problem” Tails smiled as he chuckled. Sonic looked at Tails with a little bit of shock in his face. But he then understood that Tails couldn’t be mad at him forever. They were best friends, almost brothers even.
“So, did you like it?” Tails asked.
“Yeah, I think I liked it a little too much” Sonic chuckled as he looked back to the jet ski.
Then, something drew both of their attentions in. A helicopter like device was flying towards them, it seemed to be going rather fast. Sonic put a hand over his eyes to try and see the object a little better.
“What is that?” Tails asked aloud.
“I don’t know, but I guess we are about to find out” Sonic answered as he took a step back, and got ready to do whatever was necessary. The device then stopped in front and sonic and opened. Inside there was a letter, with the President's mark on it. Sonic took the letter and opened it.
“What does it say?” Tails asked.
Sonic then cleared his throat and read aloud :
“Dear Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles Tails Prower
There is an urgent matter that has come up that has put the entire of the land of the sky at risk. Please come to the office as quickly as you can to discuss this matter.
The President.”
“Is that it?” Sonic questioned as he further examined the letter. “Talk about the President and vague letters” Sonic then handed the letter to Tails, who then proceeded to read it.
“It must be important if he rushed this letter out” Tails examined as he read the letter too. The helicopter robot then flew away, leaving the two without any extra information. “So, do we go?”
“Go?” Sonic stated as he looked up into the sky and inhaled the air. “Of course we going” Sonic then let out a grin as he could feel the sense of another adventure on its way.
Sonic and Tails then walked into the President's Office building. It was built from strong white bricks, to show off how strong their continent was. Even though they failed to protect themselves half the time. But that’s what heroes are for, right? There were two flags outside, with the national flag on them. Inside there was a red carpet for the visitors to walk down. This was nothing new for the duo as they had been called countless times by the President to solve matters that threatened the land of the sky.
Once the two got to the doors, they nodded to the guards. They nodded back and then opened the doors to let them into the office. The two walked into the room, which had a giant window opposite them, with a desk in front of the window. Behind the desk was a large chair which was facing the window, and this chair had someone in it.
“What seems to be the problem Mr. President?” Sonic asked. The President waited a second before turning his chair to half face Sonic and Tails. He wore a look of concern on his face, compared to the normal look of hopelessness and helplessness. He sighed as he collected his thoughts.
“Thank you for coming, Sonic. And yes, we have a really big problem this time” the President admitted as he continued to wear his poker face. ‘Wow, must be serious. The President is all focused and deep in thought’ Sonic thought as he observed the President.
“Can you tell us exactly what the problem is?” Sonic asked as he crossed his arms, wearing a pocker face of his own, in concern. The President looked out of the window again for a second.
“About five hours ago, a rip in time and space was discovered” the President began. Tail gasped as he knew what that meant. Sonic, on the other hand, sustained his cool.
“For real?” Tails asked.
“Yes Tails, for real” the President replied. “And it has the potential to destroy our world” The President then rose from his seat and walked past his desk so that he was standing in front of the window.
“So, what can we do to help?” Sonic asked. Again, the president sighed and then turned to face the duo.
“I don’t know, but he does” the President replied as he extended his hand towards a doorway. Sonic hesitated to look as he already had an idea about who it could be. He closed his eyes and looked away from where the President was pointing. ‘Of all the people, why him’ Sonic thought and he remembered all the bad memories.
“Long time no see, Sonic” A voice spoke, a ever so familiar voice.
“Doctor Robotnik” Sonic spoke, with his empty voice. He then opened his eyes and shot an annoyed look at the Doctor. The Doctor only replied with his evil smile, and a slight chuckle. Even though this was a matter to be taken seriously, Robotnik always liked the effect he had on Sonic.
“Looks like I’m not going to be the bad guy this time” Robotnik announced as he walked into the room fully. “Which is a shame of course” He couldn’t help but let out a little evil chuckle.
“What exactly have you done this time Robotnik?” Sonic questioned as he tapped his foot on the floor.
“Oh, I haven’t done anything!” Robotnik said in an annoying way.
“Likely story!” Tails shouted as he stood next to Sonic.
“Yeah! The last time I trusted you, the entire of the land of the sky was put in danger” Sonic added as he then remembered what else happened. Robotnik then wiped the smug expression from his face and gained a serious attitude - like the President.
“You don’t need to trust me this time, Sonic” Robotnik announced as he then presented a devise. Sonic then considered the fact that this was a lot more serious than he had first imagined. He then began to actually listen to Robotnik.
“I’m listening” Sonic stated as he stopped tapping his foot.
“Thank you Sonic” Robotnik said as he pressed a button on the device. The device then projected an image of the planet in the air. “As you can see, this is the world that we live in. The land of the sky - and below is the land of darkness”
“Yeah yeah, tell us something we don’t know” Sonic blurted out, as he didn’t want to be lectured on what he already knew.
“I was coming to that, shut it!” Robotnik shouted. He then coughed and returned to his serious state. “Now, if you look here - you can see that there is a rupture. This is where the crack is. If this is left for too long, then it could consume our world” Robotnik explained.
“So, what exactly does this crack in time and space do?” Sonic asked.
“You can almost treat it like one of our warp zones. But instead this one goes to another universe altogether” Robotnik explained.
“Another universe...” Tail spoke as he thought about it.
“Yes, Tails, another universe. And it could have anything in it” Robotnik replied. The room then went silent for a moment as they all considered another universe altogether. What would they have in that universe? Would it be anything like their world? To be honest, it could be anything out there.
“What can we do?” Sonic asked, breaking the silence.
“The only way it can be stopped, is to go to the other side and then close it by coming back through” Robotnik explained. “I have calculated that we have no less than four days until there will be a singularity that will consume the planet”
“I guess that would destroy the planet in the process” Sonic added.
“Yes” Robotnik nodded. “That is the most likely ending”
“Will you help us Sonic?” the President asked, still maintaining his impressive poker face. Sonic quickly considered the gravity of the situation, now wasn’t the time to be silly. It was about time to be sensible and take this situation seriously. He rubbed his nose, thinking about it. It was an one way deal to be honest.
“I’ll do it” Sonic agreed. “You in Tails?”
“Yeah, I’m in too!” Tails chirped. Robotnik then presented a device to Tails. He was hesitant to take it, remembering the last time that he took tech from Robotnik.
“This will show you where the rip is, so you can locate it wherever you are” Robotnick explained. Tails then took the device and strapped it to his wrist.
“Right” Tails acknowledged as he pressed some buttons, turning the device on.
“Alright, let’s go Tails” Sonic said bravely as he stood up.
“Ok Sonic” Tails replied. The duo then walked out of the room and the doors shut behind them, leaving the President and Robotnik alone. They stood in silence for a few moments, thinking.
“I hope they can do it” the President said in an uneasy manner. Robotnik then smiled in an evil way as he pushed his glasses up.
“Don’t worry, it’s Sonic. Of course he can do it” Robotnik assured as he knew what that hedgehog was capable of, and he could do it.
The Tornado’s engine roared as it flew through the sky, cutting through the clouds and getting closer to the destination. Sonic was standing on the top wing of the Tornado, thinking about what happened and what was going to happen. He rubbed his nose and then turned back to Tails, who was driving the plane.
“Do you think that we can trust him this time?” Sonic began. “Because all the other times it has either been a big trap or a trick” Tails pulled a lever in the plane and then looked up to Sonic.
“I guess we can trust him, they were both pretty serious” Tail replied cautiously. “Robotnik is almost never like that, and for the President...”
“Hmm” Sonic hummed in thought as he remembered how the two people acted. They almost never acted like that. It was only on rare occasions when something really serious was going on. Apart from that, all of that could have been one giant trick. But who knows.
“Hey, how close are we to the rupture?” Sonic asked, looking into the distance to see a congestion of dark clouds.
“Very close” Tails responded, looking down to the device. “It seems like it’s in that storm over there”
“It is just me, or do storms always appear around bad things?” Sonic asked aloud.
“I don’t know” Tails then grabbed the control lever and steered the plane away from the storm. He then got it so they were going on the outside. “Ok Sonic, hold on!” The plane then banked right and fell into the storm, causing Sonic to duck down and grab onto the wing. A couple of bolts of lightning flew past the plane and rain began to hammer down.
They were blind for a few seconds as the clouds created a thick fog in which they couldn’t see through. The duo held on as they plummeted around the storm, unable to determine where they were going. Sonic then attempted to open his eyes and look around, only to get rain in them.
“Are we there yet?” Sonic managed as he was just barely holding on to the plane. Tails rubbed his goggles and looked to the side of the plane. There was a slight area a white light, only slight, but it was there. Tails used this as the target as he banked the plane towards it.
“Here... we... GO!” Tails just managed as the plane then flew into the bright light. For a moment, there was silence as the plane flew directly through the hole. Then, there was darkness as the two we inside the wormhole. Sonic, still holding on, opened his eyes a little to see that it was no longer raining, but instead they were in some kind of rainbow tunnel.
Sonic looked back to see the dark storm from where the had just been, and then he looked forward to see a light. It was a different one to where they had been, so much brighter. Then, they hit it. The plane flew out of the wormhole and began to plummet downwards. Tails opened his eyes to see that the plane was on a direct crash course for the planet.
So he grabbed the control stick and pulled it up. Unfortunately, the plane wasn’t doing what it was told, plus it was stalling. Sonic then looked at where they were heading, some kind of forest was below them. This was one of the worst places to land.
“Tails!” Sonic shouted. “You’ve gotta pull up!”
“I can’t!” Tails shouted back. “The Tornado’s stalling!” Tails continued to fight the controls as the plane as the rudders struggled to turn. Sonic then put the situation into his head. He needed to think fast and act faster. Sonic then jumped up and landed on the tail of the plane, causing the plane to pull up a little. He then climbed back up to the top of the plane and did it again. Causing the plane to pull up even more.
Tails then got the rudders to work and the plane was now somewhat under control. So, he pulled up, but this wasn’t enough. The plane just pulled up in time, but it hit the ground and began to spin as it crashed. Within a couple of seconds, the Tornado went from flying to a wreck on the ground. Sonic and Tails waited for a few seconds, before they then got out of the plane wreck.
“Are you ok Tails?” Sonic asked, giving his friend a hand to get out.
“Yeah, I’m fine” Tails replied, wiping himself down. “I’m worried about the Tornado though. Crashing like that might be the end of her” Tails the examined the plane, seeing that it had taken quite a lot of damage from the crash. Sonic then looked around the forest in which they had landed in. Or crashed in, to be more exact. It was dark, there were plenty of uneasy sounds and it felt like they were being watched.
“So, this is the other universe” Sonic spoke aloud as he looked around on the spot. Watching the bushes as they rustled and created sounds. A slight breeze flew by and gave both of them the shivers. If this couldn’t get any better. “This place gives me the creeps”
“You’re telling me” Tails said as he then stood next to Sonic. The two then stood together, in a new universe that had not been discovered by anyone from their world before. They were doing something that would be impossible for any other being. And it was a good feeling. Sonic then looked behind him to see a giant mountain, a good spot look learn the surroundings.
“I’ll be right back, I’m just going to go up there and look around” Sonic announced as he pointed at the mountain.
“Wait!” Tails suddenly shouted. Sonic looked back to Tails, somewhat perplexed.
“What is it?” Sonic questioned.
“What do I do if something bad happens?” Tails asked, being a little bit on the scared side.
“Just yell, and I’ll be there” Sonic smirked as he then shot away. After running a couple of hundred meters he then jumped up onto a tree. He then jumped from tree to tree until he was on top of them. Using the tops as platforms, he then jumped forward to get to the mountain. When he got to the mountain he jumped onto it and ran around the edge, getting higher and higher. Within a few short seconds he ascended to the top of the mountain and when he got to the top he did a little flip.
Standing on the very top, Sonic looked around the area. It was peaceful, different to what his world was like, mainly because it didn’t have a land of the sky. It was just a land at ground level. There was some kind of weird cloud structure floating around, which didn’t make much sense to Sonic. He then saw there was another mountain with a city built on the side of it, this was protected by some kind of force field. Sonic took a guess that it was the Capital, or some really important city.
His gaze then came across a small town, which was just on the outside of the forest. It seemed like everything got brighter and more colourful when the forest stopped. So, from here it looked like this would be Sonic’s destination. It was then when his ears began to fidget, meaning that he could hear something. He focused his heading and then he could hear the very distinctive yell of his friend.
Danger.
Sonic jumped up and flew down the mountain. He then began to spin into a ball and gain speed as he did so. Then, he hit the mountain side and rolled down it. At the bottom of the mountain, there was a rock that was somewhat shaped like a ramp, Sonic used this to propel himself into the air. As he flew, he tried to see what Tails had gotten himself into. But the tree’s were blocking his view. He landed on the ground and began to run at full speed. Using the ever loudening sound of Tails’s voice, Sonic was able to locate where he was.
Putting one hand to the ground, he made a sharp turn towards Tails and then jumped through the tree’s. When he exited the tree layer, he saw Tails and another creature. Landing, Sonic looked at the creature and tried to figure out what it was - but he had no idea. It had a lions body, a scorpion's tail and wings.
“What in the world is that thing?” Sonic asked as watched it roar.
“I have no idea, never seen it before” Tails replied, running away from the creature. From what Sonic could see, this thing was hostile. It seemed like they were going to have to use force against it.
“Alright, stand back Tails” Sonic shouted as he spun himself into a ball on the spot. Tails jumped up and flew over Sonic. Sonic then released the energy that he had been storing and he flew into the creature. He hit it dead on, pushing it back a little in the process. Once he landed, he looked up to the creature to see if it had got the message. But he was only greeted by it taking a swipe at him.
Sonic got hit and he flew back into a tree. For a few seconds he was immobilised and couldn’t move, giving the creature some time to advance on him. Tails then rushed at the creature and kicked it in the head. The creature then attempted to take a hit at Tails, but he dodged it and flew back. Sonic then got back onto his feet and looked at the enraged creature.
Taking a look at his surroundings, Sonic looked at the trees that were surrounding the creature. This gave him an idea, only a small one that might work. Sonic rushed at the creature and then suddenly shot to the left. Jumping onto a tree, he then flew at the creature, hitting it as he went past. After that he landed on another tree, and he repeated this. After doing this continuously for a couple of times, the creature then yelled out in rage. Sonic saw this as the time to end it.
Spinning himself into a ball again, he hit the creature and sent it flying back into a tree. When he landed he shot a look at the creature and saw that it was unconscious. They had done it. Taking a sigh of relief, Sonic sat down and breathed in the air.
“Good going Sonic!” Tails chirped as he flew next to Sonic.
“Couldn’t have done it without you Tails” Sonic responded with a smile on his face. He then stood up and began to walk back to where the Tornado was. They were going to need to get it out of here, because that creature could wake up any second and be twice as annoyed. Tails got some ropes out of the plane and strapped them to the wings. He then flew up and lifted the plane, Sonic lifted the back of the plane. The two then began to walk in the direction of where Sonic had seen the nearest village. They both hoped that the town folk would be a lot more friendly.
After a while, the two made it out of the forest, leaving the horrible things behind them. When they had gotten out, the atmosphere changed completely. The previous uneasy feeling in the air had seemed to have disappeared. Now, everything was colourful and calm. The fields were green and the sky was now visible with a calm blue. A complete change. It was almost like they had just gone through a warp zone, but it wasn’t.
The first thing that could be seen, out of the forest, was a cottage. It was surrounded by a fence and it had many animals crowded around it. Maybe the animals liked the owner of the house. If that was so, then maybe the owner of this house would be able to help them. Shrugging, the Sonic dropped the plane and waved Tails down.
“I think we should try here first” Sonic began. “It seems like this place is pretty friendly” Sonic then clicked his fingers and walked over to the door of the house. Raising his hand up, he knocked on the door. After a few seconds, he heard unlocking sounds from behind the door. Then the door opened to reveal, what seemed to be, a pony. For a short second Sonic was left astonished, as was the pony that stood in front of him. Then they looked into each others eyes with uncertainty, having no idea what to do. The pony then began to shiver a little and Sonic shivered a little as well. “Uh...” Sonic began. “Hi?”
The pony then yelped and closed the door in fear. Sonic, again, was left in astonishment. What the actual hell just happened? One moment he was looking at a pony, the next he had a door shut on his face. He took a few more seconds to process what had happened, then he realised what just happened. He got a door slammed in his face.
“HEY!” Sonic yelled, knocking on the door again. There was no answer. “Why did you shut the door on me like that, I didn’t do anything wrong” Sonic was confused beyond belief. Did he do something wrong. Was the word “Hi” in this world a sacred word or was it offencive. Anything was possible at this point.
“I-I’m sorry. You scare me!” The pony shouted back through the door. Sonic wasn’t sure if he should be offended or just take it as plain rude.
“Wait, how did I scare you?” Sonic asked back through the door.
“Your spikes!” She replied. A sweat mark appeared on Sonic’s head as he remembered another thing. He was unique, really different from most life forms on the planet. Plus he was in an entire new world. He could be the scariest thing that had ever lived. All these thoughts just made Sonic feel like he was a monster.
“Common, I can’t help it if I look like this!” Sonic shouted back through the door. Again, he was greeted by silence. Sonic couldn’t help but then let out a sigh.
“Is everything alright Sonic?” Tails asked as he walked over to the door too.
“Not exactly, apparently I’m scary towards this pony” Sonic groaned. Tails looked at him and then shrugged. Maybe perception was different in this world. Tails decided to try at knocking on the door.
“Hello?” He called out, his voice being a lot more like a childs than Sonic’s. Mainly because he was a lot younger than Sonic. Then, like before, the door opened to reveal the pony. This time Sonic actually got a good look at her. She was a yellow pegasus with pink hair. She seemed to have the timid nature, which was getting to Sonic a little.
“Umm, hi?” this pegasus replied, being a lot more calm towards Tails. Sonic raised an eyebrow at Tails, seeing that he was already getting much further than he was.
“My names Tails and this is my friend Sonic” Tails said, guesting back to Sonic.
“Oh, hi Tails and...” She looked over at Sonic and stopped for a second. Maybe he was coming off as intimidating as his eye was beginning to twitch. “...Sonic”
“I was wondering if you knew about any place in which I could get the Tornado fixed?” Tails asked, keeping eye contact with the pegasus.
“Who’s the Tornado?” the pegasus asked. Sonic felt like ground palming for a moment, you don’t go and fix someone, do you?
“Umm, it’s our airplane. It crashed and we need to repair it as quickly as possible” Tails explained.
“Do you have anywhere where we can repair it?” Sonic asked. The pegasus looked at Sonic in a rather timid way again. ‘Is it going to be like this forever...’ Sonic thought as he sighed again, looking to Tails for help.
“Umm, Do you know where we can repair the Tornado?” Tails asked in a nicer way. The pegasus smiled at Tails and acknowledged his question.
“Well, there isn’t a repair shop for anything like that around Ponyville” The pegasus answered. “Plus, I’ve never heard of a plane before” She added, leaving the two a little confused.
“You don’t know what a aeroplane is?” Tails asked with his mouth in agerpay.
“No, I don’t” The pegasus confirmed. This universe was getting more and more different every second. Ponies, being afraid of Sonic and not knowing what a plane is. At least they breathed air, for the benefit of the duo. The pegasus then had a question on her mind, because of the fact that she had never seen creatures like these two before. “Umm, if you don’t mind me asking, where do you come from?” She asked.
“That’s the thing...” Tails began, stopping as he tried to think about how to explain it.
“We’re not from this world, or even this universe” Sonic continued. The pegasus looked a little confused, how could they be from another universe?
“I don’t think I understand” The pegasus admitted, looking rather perplexed.
“Well, the best way to describe it for now is that we aren’t from around here” Tails concluded. “Because it will get very confusing, very quickly” The pegasus then nodded and walked out of her house to see the Tornado, or at least what was left of it.
“Is that your plane?” The pegasus asked, tilting her head at it.
“Yeah, that’s the Tornado” Tails confirmed, walking over to it.
“I don’t know much about technology, but I take care of the animals around here” The pegasus said. “Oh, and my names Fluttershy. I’m sorry for not mentioning it earlier”
“It’s alright Fluttershy” Tails replied, smiling in the process. It looked like Tails had already made a new friend, whereas Sonic was still on the borderline for being an abomination. Sonic was wishing that this could end quickly, cause if this was it - then he really wanted to get back home.
“You know what, I think I’m going to go exploring” Sonic announced as he walked away from the group. “I’ll see if I can find any shops for the parts that you need Tails” Sonic added as he stretched out his arms.
“Thanks Sonic” Tails replied happily. Sonic's gaze then fell back on Fluttershy, seeing that he wasn’t going to get any goodbyes from her he walked away. Sonic was now on the way into the town, that was apparently called Ponyville, in search for something that could help him. Or at least talk to him.
‘Geez, I hope that there are some more social creatures around here. Because Fluttershy just seemed to be terrified at me. Are my spikes really that intimidating? If every creature see’s me in the same way, I think this is going to be one of my worst adventures yet’ Sonic thought as he entered the town, not knowing what was going to happen next.
"Hey, whats that spiky thing?" shouted a pony from the town. 'Yep, it is'

Apart from the occasional error, there wasn't really anything wrong, and I can't wait to see how the other ponies take to Sonic and Tails! This is definately going on my "watch" list.

1255744 Actually, this is a concept I have seen done a precious few times, almost to the point of nonexistence. Sure, in just about every other sonic-fic there's a brief rivalry over speed, but like I said, they're brief.
I am enjoying the story, but your writing isn't too great. The roughness of the prose is making it difficult to do more than skim through.
I would strongly suggest enlisting an editor, there is in fact an editors group here on FiMFiction where you can seek one out.

In addition to the many errors, your writing style has major flaws.
Your descriptions. You say "The room had this and this and this". You need to make those descriptions less of a list and more of a proper observation. Even better work the description into the narration "There was a large window" could be "On the other side of the room bright sunlight streamed through a large window". Don't just give the description, characterize the description. Give the characters' impressions of what they are seeing and experiencing.
Also, when describing action, you need to visualize what the character is doing and provide that information in a less "step by step" way. Leave out information that is obvious. "Tails nodded, showing his look of disappointment on his face." Could be simplified to "Tail's nodded with a disappointed expression." We know it's on his face and that he's showing it.
Vary your language more. Try not to use the same term multiple times a paragraph or repeat names often. A lot of this would admittedly be alleviated by streamlining your descriptive prose, trimming the fat.

yeah, I think that if Eggman ever actually won, he'd gloat for about a week, then let Sonic loose "by accident" just so he doesn't get bored.
Sonic can outrun rainbow dash without any of his retarted power ups due to the fact that when she breaks the sound barrier she can only go Mach 1, and don't even say that she goes Mach 10 because she doesn't if she did she would be going so fast that A. She would die from lack of oxygen at that speed B. the pressure of going that fast would turn her into dust or a bloody mess or C. It breaks the laws of physics and she can't do that only pinkie pie can, Sonic on the other hand has successfully broken the sound barrier without even trying she actually has to try when she breaks the sound barrier and sonic has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more experience he has saved the universe earth and other planets and even a different fucking dimension. So that basically points out why he would win.

I don't really care about the physics about this (even though I love physics and learning about it), I really want to just give Sonic and Rainbow a rivalry in more then just speed. As there is so much that they can be competitive at. Anyhow, if I had to bet on one of them to win, I wouldn't really be able to choose.
Plus, normal relative physics don't apply to the MLP FiM Universe as they do here. Therefore anything is possible in their world, hence half of the things that happen in the show along with Magic.

Uhh, I don't really think you need to go that far. Anyhow, none of them have commented to say that they hate it, so I will just have to run on the idea that they hated the concept and didn't read the story. That, or they just didn't like the story. But I am a brony who will happily love and tolerate whoever hates my stories and other work. It just tells me that I might be on the wrong track, and I might need to rethink my approach. I think you failed to read the other half of my message. Probably the bit which says that relative physics do NOT apply in the MLP FiM Universe. It is as clear as day to see this because a ton of impossible feats are being completed by the ponies, and these feats would be impossible on this planet. Anyhow, you will need to think in another dimension if you want to understand anything about this world. But, from what I have seen and read so far - it seems like you can only think in one dimension. Restricting your ability to think out of the box. But, if you do think out of the small box of Human Physics - you could probably understand and see the bigger picture. Anyhow, having magic in a world can do wonders to its physics and properties.
While I'm thinking about it, that information about the physics and universal transportation : Did you just copy it from some place or write it down from your "high" leveled knowledge of physics. 1289840 and when you look at it I'm really thinking outside the box due to the fact that we can't travel to that dimension. In my theory we create dimensions just by moving, but due to the fact that it's only different in one minor way, that universe implodes on itself, but from my understanding there is an equestria along with multiple dimensions of that equestria, so basically if we go to equestria there is no telling what version of equestria we will land in. The reason the dimension was created is just because Lauren Faust thought of the idea and turned it into a show, so that's how mlp fim was created just by a simple idea pretty cool huh.

First of all, you must do the following things in order to understand how this works. Therefore, you will now think out of the box of human relative physics! Yay!
Step 1 - Get rid of the idea of time. Yes, that thing that goes in a linear direction.
Step 2 - Get ready to eliminate most physics. But this only applies elsewhere - on earth and in this universe : Everything is near to the same.

We live in one reality. This reality can be also known as a plane of reality. This single plane can have many sub versions of itself, but in the end only one of them works. Yes, this flushes out the idea of dimensions being created continuously, but it is a lot more realistic. Multiverse theory - that's what your one is like. But now - here comes the next part in my one.
Now that we have established that there can be planes of reality. Now we can expand everything. Now we can just about have everything that we can possibly think about - actually existing. So, My Little Pony Universe. Lets say it exists, for the purpose of this example. Now, what would apply there and how would it work? Easy - nothing would be the same as in our plane. Yes - somethings will be similar and almost the same. But most things will be very much different.
With that in mind - that means that anything can happen in this new reality - even moving at Mach 10 speeds and not being turned into a red mush. And there are three things that immediately prove my theory about separate physics being applied : Pegasi, Unicorns and Pinkie Pie.
First - If we decide to apply the theory of what can fly on pegasi - do you know what would happen? Well, they would fail. They are too heavy and their wings would need to be a lot bigger. So why can they fly? That leads onto my second point.
Unicorns - They have the ability to use and control magic. Magic is the main factor that separates their world from ours. So, maybe this magic has effects on the world that they live in. Even more so to the entire plane of reality. Therefore - goodbye human relative physics and hello pony physics! Isn't that right Pinkie?
Oh yes! But, how am I here? I mean - that isn't even possible. And then I am over there and then I can see the people. OHH! So many people!!!

Now, time to add... well, time I guess to the equation. Lets add normal time to each separate universe. Aaaaaaaaand - done! Now each universe has its own time line. Meaning that if you were to even try and travel between universes - that would mean that you will have to think in the forth dimension! AH HA! Now it is all coming together.
So if you could even travel to another universe - time and space would be different in the separate universes. Meaning that anything is possible in the new universe. Meaning that Sonic Rainbooms are possible. Meaning that you don't create another dimension every time you do something - because that would leave to much varible. And from my understanding of everything - everything likes to be fixed - not random.
Finally, to get to your point (AFTER GOD KNOWS HOW LONG :o) that would mean if you were to travel to Equestria - it wouldn't be the dimension that you would worry about. Because that would be the same - it would be the time.
