Found the show in late 2015, and fell in love with it. I also like D&D (3 and 3.5), Fansty novel and movie, Sci-Fi movies. MarbleMac is Best Ship and Flashlight is a fair second

Sequels1

T

This story is a sequel to My Little Mages: Denouement of Resolution

Hearth Warming is coming yet again, this time instead of panicking over what to get her friends, Twilight is cool, calm, collected and is having her wedding.
What can go wrong?

Well, Discord, while he was masquerading as Grogar, had the right idea of how to combat Twilight. And someone took notes, but where 'Grogar' failed, he will succeed, as Twilight and her friends still have quite the rogue's gallery.

As they say... third times the charm or rather they will say

"The princess, Twilight Sparkle, is dead."
"Long live the king, Sombra..."

Darkness will once again rise, will Light be able to meet it?

Finally. Sombra’s getting his revenge!

Yes!!! I have been waiting for this

The moment we've all been waiting for: The Siege of the Crystal Empire (done better). And we're already tying up loose ends by bringing in the one-shot baddies from the show - minus flim and flam on the oneshot. More, not only has King Sombra united them under his banner, but he also donned the Alicorn Amulet to become a Demigod stronger than all others, AND bonded to the Symbiotic Night Stalker (Pony of Shadows). And depending on what happens next, something MAJOR is going to happen that involves the Bewitching Bell.

And it probably involves the Shadow Demigod becoming a God of Darkness. I can't wait to see!:D

Sombra smiled as he shocked his head, “Isn't obvious?” he asked rhetorically. “I want my throne in Krystalopolices back, I want the usper, her consort, and their brat to die in exile. I want Celestia and Luna to experience being banished under the northern ice for a millennium and a half, but more immediately, I want Twilight Sparkle and her friends to pay.” Sombra answered. “And so do you,” he said. “Remember how Applejack tricked your client to go behind your back and entrap you?” he asked Svengali. Sombra then turned to the rest, “How Fluttershy tricked the FlimFlam brothers into betraying you?” he asked Gladmage. “How Fluttershy and Applejack couldn’t leave well enough alone and ruin you two?” the king asked Flim and Flam. “Let’s not forget how Twilight and her friends broke into Wonderbolt Academy and stupidly entered your flight path?” he said as he looked at Lightning. He then turned to Suri, “And then there's a little miss perfect from the boondocks who practically handed you her designs when all you asked for was some accents, but goes on to not only steal your victory with a bathroom sink but took your assistant too.” He then, at last, turned to the Sirens, “And last but not least, not only they denied you your victory, they took from you a much-needed meal and they transmuted you into humans.” He paused as he watched the others reflect.

Okay, moral myopia much? :ajbemused:

I get the feeling that part of Sombra and Grindale's conversation was Disney's Hercules-inspired. I don't have much to say. Oddly enough, I'm not as enthused as I thought I'd be regarding Flash and Twilight's wedding. Maybe it's because I know the wedding is not the main focus of the story. :applejackunsure:

Well... the story is called 'The Shadows' Revenge', not 'A Hearth Warming Wedding'... the main thing in this chapter is to set up how I will show in the text how Sombra and Company will catch Twilight and Friends with their pants down

The moment we've all been waiting for: The Siege of the Crystal Empire (done better).

Technically I already did that...because the title of the AU's take of The Crystal Empire was based off of the title of that arc, but yes.

And we're already tying up loose ends by bringing in the one-shot baddies from the show -

Yeah that was an issue I had with season nine, only Twilight's rogues gallery was used, and since the show went with Grogar was a guise, well then where Discord was short-sighted, Sombra had a long term plan.

More, not only has King Sombra united them under his banner, but he also donned the Alicorn Amulet to become a Demigod stronger than all others,

when you say 'all the others', do you mean the villains or demigod? If the former, well yeah, he's not stupid enough to trust them fully (knowing their motives for joining him). If the later, let's not jump to conclusions if anything he's actually on par with Twilight before she accepted the collective power of Celestia, Luna, and Cadance, so he would be the second weakest at this point (Flurry being the weakest since she's a baby).

AND bonded to the Symbiotic Night Stalker (Pony of Shadows).

will more accurately he forced the Night Stalker to bond to him, think of the Night Stalker like a hydrogen ion and Sombra is a chlorine ion, Sombra is the larger party and will be the one that keeps the 'electron' should the two be torn apart.

And depending on what happens next, something MAJOR is going to happen that involves the Bewitching Bell.

Maybe,:raritywink:

10304410
Well, that's certainly alot to take in. But, of course he's more powerful than his cadavre of lowlife thugs, and obvious henchmen: given the power he's capable of, all of them are second-fiddle to him. But it's your story, so you make him as strong as you want, I guess.^^; As for the bonding part? Yes, I know it was forced. But it was still the both bonding into a single form, nonetheless. So i'm right, either way, with all due respect. Either way, it doesn't matter: what does is seeing what you have in store for us all.:D

Was the part about the witnesses really something people actually used to do back in the day, or did you make that up as an excuse to get certain people away from the battle? :applejackunsure:

Good gosh, "99 Red Balloons," the happiest song about cold war ever written. :ajbemused: It's basically the 80s version of "Pumped Up Kicks." If you don't know what that is, it's a catchy, upbeat song about a school shooting. :ajbemused:

Not bad overall. I could have done without the raunchier bits, but it's not my story.

Well I am not entirely sure, I borrowed that from what George Martin called 'the bedding ceremony' that is part of the weddings of certain lords and regions in ASOIAF/GOT

The irony was not lost on me, that was part of the reason I chose to have Svengali (who seemed to molded after the Gen. 1 antagonist Knightshade (note the k)) sing it... also the image of Pinkie running for her life being chased by red balloons was something I couldn't pass up on. Any thoughts on the other music used?

Fair enough

Any thoughts on the other music used?

I'm not familiar with "The Rains of Castamere." I just know that it's not a song you would want played at your wedding. You also basically just further played up Gladmane's Elvis-impersonater persona, so not much to say on that end.

10604132
You should listen to "The Rains of Castamere" just once. There is a reason why the treacherous Freys play that particular song at the Red Wedding

10604132

As my mother said, Work smarter not harder.

so not much to say on that end.

It's the song commemorating Jaime backstabbing Daenerys's father back when the Targaryens sat on the world's most uncomfortable-looking chair, isn't it? I did have enough of a curiosity regarding the show to browse the wikis.

Just watch this,

This story seems particularly suggestive and violent compared to earlier installments, and some of your earlier works already set the bar pretty high.

So not only did he do what I imagine everyone expected, and betrayed his stooges after their usefulness ended, but he also proved how wicked he really is by forcing himself on Adagio......even though it was hinted she was offering her body as payment for the three sisters lives. He just had to be more depraved about it by turning into a monster while doing it. I admonish his actions, but I enjoy the depths of his depravity in this story. He's out-eviling everyone in this universe, and proving he's more than just a Sauron: he's a conniving Palpatine who has a contingent for everything. You do well adding to the weight of the threat he poses, and make everyone wonder if he CAN be beaten at this point, and it is delicious.:) Also, I like that his Chaos Form, or Grogarian Form, is a Six-winged Cobra anthro with malevolent energy coating him. He sounds like a fallen Seraphim who just became a demon. I wish there was a picture of it somewhere, because I would love to see this Grogarian Form of his. It seems badass as frig.:)

My sweet summer child, if only you didn't block M tated stories...

10650217
I actually kind of want an illustration of that scene myself. But not sure if I can afford the commission right now

10650618
Oh, well: guess we'll have to wait a while on that one, then.^^;

I thought it was just going to be a new legion of Doom VS the good guys but now it just got more interesting, only thing i would love to happen if when everyone has their Powers back and sombra is defeated, the real fully powerfull grogar shows up. That would be cool. Otherwise absolutely love the story.

10663974
the real real Grogar is long dead in this AU, but I hope the version of Sombra to come will be a more appropriate substitute then Discord masquerading attempt

New/Last chapters are up and story is complete

I know your version of Dash is more violent and temperamental than canon Dash, but I would have preferred having her challenge Flash to an arm wrestle, like Cara Dune and Din Djarin in The Mandalorian season 1, minus the interruption. I don't know. Flash using his new form and Dash going sonic rainboom over a squabble feels like an abuse of power.

10675631
It's part of the rivalry that exists between military branches. Yah it can be viewed that way and is petty, but can you blame showboat for showing off?

So I know Flash was using a variation of the Star Saber, Skyboom Shield and the Requiem Blaster, probably to specifically reference Transformers Armada if the mention of Hydra Cannon was any indication, and i'm also going to guess that he had basically been blessed with the power of their version of a Cherubim (the REAL ones from judeo-christian mythology) with some minor differences. But was Sombra a Seraphim, or an Archangel? Either that, or he was a fallen Cherubim as some sources claim Lucifer Morningstar was before he fell. Then again, he only had one Ophanim/Throne, so maybe it's either or. But still, it was an epic clash, though there didn't really feel like there were any stakes involved - except Sombra wielding the might of the Divine Pantheon/the Angels. With all due respect, maybe if he had tried twisting and corrupting the land with his newfound might, and enslaving all who lived, then there may have been more urgency in the need to stop him. But other than that, it was good and I liked all the other little references made here and there. Still wish we could see what the Angel and Devil forms look like in full, though.^^;

10676029
Well you have to remember Twilight et al's motive to fight Sombra is more akin to putting down a mad dog or a known man-eater/man-killer, the urgency in such cases is actually deceptively pressing and the heroes aren't waiting for Sombra to do anything with the power, they are going after him now, they are being very much proactive.
Flash's new form is a combination of Seraphim (using both the 'burning' and 'snake' definitions), Ezekiel and Revelation Cherubim and the Wheels within Wheels of Ezekiel.
As for Sombra, a fallen Seraphim (Lucifer), the Four Beasts of Daniel, and the Beast from the Sea in Revelation
Also as SciTwi pointed out, Cherubim is a term for throne guardians and in the Ancient Near East were known for their fluidity of form, it's a job title. Seraphim are denoted for their fiery and serpentine appearance and, in our world, are of Egyptian origins in design, it denotes their taxonomy for theological purposes to convey God's position as King and that His presence is sacred and will be defended.

O_O Holy hell, you know your judeo lore more than I thought I did. But now I suppose I see the point in how you decided to present the TRUE final clash against the last true evil in Equestria's equivalent world. Then again, now that I think of it, this is probably more like a DBZ, or just Dragon Ball, fight that anything I was expecting in that the enemy alone presented high stakes with the immense power they held: the power to destroy the universe unless they're stopped for good. So I guess this makes Sombra the Kid Buu-Merged Zamasu of this series, given he's the final and most dangerous foe, and it took an immense power to finally destroy him once, and for all.

Probably a wrong comparison to draw from, but the simplicity of the scenario added by the intensity of the conflict gives me a dragon ball vibe, that's all. Though I do like the Transformers Armada reference you made.;) *sigh* And after all this talking about it, i'm starting to get tempted to just draw Sombra, and Flash's Satanic, and Angelic forms respectively, since noone else has, sadly.^^; They're just too cool to be left alone.:D

I've watched a few videos on the matter:twilightblush::twilightsheepish:, this one in particular

There are worse comparisons to be made and I may have been influenced by the Kid Buu sub arch of the Buu Saga somewhere in my mind. Maybe... I can't say I recall what my inspirations for the scene were:applejackunsure:
But I am glad you enjoy the Transformers Armada refences. :pinkiehappy:

*sigh* And after all this talking about it, i'm starting to get tempted to just draw Sombra, and Flash's Satanic, and Angelic forms respectively, since no one else has, sadly.^^; They're just too cool to be left alone.:D

If you want to, go ahead, I'll gladly post add them as illustrations, of course crediting you. I can't compensate you for it, mainly because I can't commission the images myself at this point. But I do believe to be cool images... but I have a massive bias.

Well, regarding the pics idea, i'll at least consider doing it. That's the best I can offer for the time being. But thanks for sharing that other info: it was quite interesting.:)

10677103
Doesn't mean I won't give it a try, though: I enjoy a good challenge, and since I have an enthusiast interest in biblical mythos, I like to create or base what feel would mix well with angelic or demonic referentials. This will be an interesting challenge, to say the least. Though quick question, even though I can go back and read to answer this: do Flash and Sombra's Heaven and Hell forms have legs, or are they completely serpentine with arms and the other parts mixed in? :?

10677343
Their bodies would be mostly human (legs included) but with serpent tails, six wings and the rest... if you want, we can continue this in PM

Only if YOU want to, then i'm game - in other words, yes.

10677734
I honestly really want depictions of the two in their 'seraphim' based forms

Then let's go discuss it, and see what we can do about that.:)

Thoughts on the image(s) kahnac drew? I think it(they) turned out well

10681829
As of the time of this reply, he's only drawn one image, and it's leagues better than anything I'll be able to come up with.

10681845

As of the time of this reply, he's only drawn one image,

fair point, at the time of this reply there are two more hopefully on the way

and it's leagues better than anything I'll be able to come up with

yeah, much it's better than what I can do. I was wondering if you liked it and/or anything else that comes to mind

10681845
Well no worries: Sombra's first Dark Seraph form, and Flash's Cherubim form are coming in time. I simply started with the final form of Sombra because I KNEW it was going to be a challenge, and the hardest of the lot. But compared to what you see, the other two will be a piece of cake. I'm sure Pinkie would appreciate that metaphor.:D
