Are you asking why all the sequels to Heart of Stone are shorter than that massive 400k word project?
A couple simple answers for that are, I was a bit of an idiot when I started writing and thought it was a good idea to just keep writing until I naturally came to an ending... two years of my life went by before I could manage to get to a place to stop writing that story lol. Also a lot of the sequels from directly after the Heart of Stone were always meant to be shorter stories. The Heart of Magic on the other hand, is not going to be such a short story, as much as I wanted it to be one, there is just too much that will happen to cover in a short novel like Heart of Light was. This one is going to be another long form epic story.
When I'm writing in three or four separate universes at once, it's a real challenge to work on stories going past 90k words, but I think the Heart of Magic as the final entry in this series really deserves the time it needs to tell it's story. Granted I know that means it will take some time before it's finished lol, but I'm willing to work with that.

not particularly. There is a lot of reflection of the two characters and the lives they ended up living and the story mostly focuses around Trixie and Twilight. But nay, this is not the story where a wayward unicorn falls for a stunning princess who becomes a bit too friendly. I almost wish I had done that in the beginning now

I'm not likely to actually write a Twixie fanfic at this point. With the series officially over and gen 5 somewhere on the horizon I'm waiting more for that.
Also having worked on the Heart Of series for six years now its a bit too late to put a Twixie ship in it.

First I've heard of a second movie. I haven't really been interested in mlp since season 7, not too sure I'm going to be interested in any new material after that final episode. Still I'm cautiously looking forward to the new gen 5 whenever it comes out. As for fanfics, this is probably my last one until gen 5, maybe even after that. I've been working on this project for six years with the start of Heart of Stone, so it's important to me to see it through to the end.

Wow, thank you for the compliment, I don't think anything I write is good enough for eqd but that would be a dream come true.
That said, according to my research warships are often times named after heroic sailors, mostly men. So in this case, the Rider, which for story purposes is a memoir to RD's fallen baby daddy, is male. Named after him as a hero and treated by her and her crew as a male to remember him. Its more of an emotional time piece and mirror to how RIder had named his ship after Rainbow Dash after there break up. It shows that despite there disagreements, some part of RD still loved Rider and maybe, just maybe that's why she could never forgive him because it was too painful to admit she still loved him.
I could also go into how Equestria is a female dominated country so naming conventions or gender conventions should very likely be backward from what it would be in our world. As in most ships should have male names and that would make Rider, the air pirate the odd one for naming his ship after his girl.
Finally, maybe RD is German and so she refers to all ships as male? Germans tend to treat ships as masculine things with male pronouns.

I would not say it's dead. but it is in a long hiatus. real life came knocking and a lot of the themes I was originally going to use were too similar to actual events. kind of took the wind out of my sails. I'll finish this story one day, but no promises on when.
