Why could luna not just summon a cake then pretend she made it. If any of you remember "A Royal Problem" with the pancakes, Luna should know that she can't cook.

sometimes, a person or in this case pony, feels that going through the effort for a loved one is worth it. This story actually came from my first time using a stove to bake a cake. Though a burning castle wasn't involved.
Luna wanted it to be heartfelt.
Love even between family can make someone do some very...misguided things.
