How he isn’t dead from alcohol poisoning is beyond me. I take it his belch had one hell of an acidity level of it was able to melt a police mare’s helmet. I would say that based on her reaction to that, she probably is a newbie as Caddy had guessed. Hopefully Caddy doesn’t get put on his face too hard and only has to spend the night in the drunk tank. However, from the sound of the police mare’s rather exaggerated cry for help, he’s probably gonna get the book thrown at him pretty hard. Stupid FNGs...

It was more like, this didn't feel like it was actually Celestia especially when she tried giving him a pep talk. Luna would have made a much better fit IMO.
Celestia only did it for Twilight as they has such a strong prior connection, putting aside whether Celestia planned Twilight's ascension/whole life. As she has a country to run it just doesn't feel plausible that she's also the Grim Reaper.
Even if it was solely a dream, that's Lunas domain. Even if it was his mental image, Cadance would have been a more believable presence given that SHE's the princess he's friends with.
