Yosh-E-O

I am aspiring author who enjoys writing various works of fantasy in which have a cutesy touch

E

Summer break is upon The School Of Friendship and every pony has plans of how to spend the time away from academics (Sans Twilight)

Starlight has plans, too. However they are ones that only Trixie knows of and even The Great And Powerful illusionist isn't totally aware of what Starlight plans to do upon releasing Cozy Glow from Tartarus.

***

This is a fun story that explores a theory I came up with for how Cozy Glow came to be and why she is the way she is. Enjoy!

Honestly, however crazy that explanation it is, it explains so much

Spike hanging with the CMC sounds like a date.

Great Flurry Heart's Whammy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHATCHA TALKIN' BOUT STARLIGHT GLIMMER?!!?!?!??!

This is an interesting take on the character. Please write more!

An interesting alternate take on Cozy. Please, keep up the good work.

First Maud was responsible of this mess now Cozy Glow too which all in common: Starlight Glimmer.

So ultimately all of this is all Starlight's fault?

Wouldn't that make it Starlight's suppose child?

Ecellent as ever. Keep it coming.

Great story I've really enjoyed so far. It would have been fun to see a yoyng starlight and Twilight battle one another anyway keep up the good work can't wait for the next chapter.

Thanks for the update what a great chapter I hope taht Starlight will become a princess or an element of harmony in the end can't wait for the next chapter

Perhaps Cozy Glow will discover another emotion: Love.

Very playfully written. Looking forward to seeing how this develops

I can hear all the voices in my head! No, wait... that came out wrong. Lemme try that again:

Really good banter and dialogue. I can hear all of the characters saying those things with their various cadences. Also, try as she might to distance herself from it... Trixie is the greatest accomplice there in all of Equestria. She knows it.

I am curious about how the little prisoner is going to take what's happening here, though.

Very entertaining, very fast to develop, and very fun

Oh... I think I know where this is going. I can use my imagination ^^

Golly... I see ^^

This is awesome.

The things we sometimes can create without meaning to, spiraling outwards and creating something worse than what we ever meant for them to be, even as a coping mechanism. Wow, how to set something like that right depends heavily on it's initial origin.

Also, that would be one way to stop a charging, enraged foal. I've seen enough screen caps of Cozy Glow covered in suspicious red sauce taken out of context... glad that doesn't happen here.

I like how the story's developing, both slowly and quickly at the same time. It's well-paced.

Neat way to explore the Cozy Glow character, building on existing ideas in the show and taking them in unexpected directions. Not quite the direction I expected, but still quite intriguing. You've captured one of the many things I've enjoyed since I first started reading MLP fan fiction (particularly earlier works when the series was still young and much was undefined) -- freshness, spontaneity, and creativity. It's fun.

I caught a small error, nothing major -- "Go let everyone in the village"

Keep up the good work, pardner

Wilikers :rainbowderp:

Understandable violence... would be hard to deal with, though.

Very smooth exposition here, and natural way of answering the questions the audience is likely to have at this point.

Awesome

Be interesting to see if this does consume Starlight in someway...

Can't help thinking back to Autumn Blaze's reprise -- "'Cause rainbows won't light up the sky unless you let it rain!"

A person (or in this case pony) cannot bottle up any emotion and expect to function properly, especially the negative ones. They can influence how we see and operate within our world.

Loving it. Fun to read, and my guess is quite a bit of fun to write ^^

Caught another small error -- “What I do believe is we should spend some real time together better understanding our feelings.”

Can't wait to see where this is going... have a couple thoughts.

Keep up the good work

1/4 chance Starlight could have died there, not that it wouldn't have been justified in everypony's mind at the time. That's determination for ya :rainbowdetermined2:

It's almost as though Cozy has become a child to her. This is quite engaging, can't wait to see what happens next.

Oh, my... keeping in with the series themes of growth, redemption, and acceptance. This is awesome.

A tiny bit of telling the audience how the characters a feeling here, but only with one character. Since it was already suggested, seems just to be done to cement the direction they're all headed in.

Some might've chosen to end it here, but I'm glad you didn't. Here's hoping for more chapters showing growth and adventure.

I always thought of them as a mother and child kind of relationship.

Aww, that's really sweet. Loving the callbacks to the series peppered throughout this story.

Reading this is a bit like being there, in that we've all done things we regret and there are people we admire we still harbor a bit of resentment towards... it's a pretty human thing to do, and sharing it is as therapeutic to Starlight and Trixie as it must be to Cozy to be trusted with these types of things that would make a pony so very vulnerable. Very much enjoying the playful banter.

There are a few tiny grammatical errors, but the one that stuck out the most is pretty common and consistent with the dialogue in the show.

I do hope they un-evil Cozy Glow in the coming seasons, as her being sent off feels like one of the biggest injustices in the whole series... though if they ever caught Queen Chrysalis (whom I hope is never redeemed) she'd end up in the same place at least. The crimes are pretty comparable, it's just... a filly, ya know.

It's interesting to see at first that Cozy off and on appears to be a sort of blank slate on this journey but still has the potential to back-pedal very fast, for believable reasons. Both Starlight and Trixie are put in a position of teaching not only that there's love in the world to be learned from all those around us and everypony deserves a chance to grow, but... also that there's less hate and reason to exploit than Cozy's been designed to believe is necessary for her to feel safe. Given what's already been established this story, it's like peering into the past and being able to make a difference with it using the vision time and maturity requires. Far out dude

The sudden shift in Cozy could be considered jarring, but given what's been established here I feel that it isn't... it's been established in the story what's made Cozy Glow, and the shift works because of that. It also keeps her from becoming what's often referred to as a "Mary Sue" -- in many ways she has a lot of different qualities, some like a blank slate that wants to learn, but she certainly isn't what she appears to be by any stretch. Taking the character in a direction like this is potentially risky, and not just because everybody's got a different opinion of her, but because of the choice of redemption and dialogue appearing to be saccharine. Though that is the way the character was written, it appears you're changing the context of the saccharine -- it's not to throw others off and create an artificially welcoming appearance, but it's a part of her here. However, it's the questions you're having her ask, the way she's asking them, and the way her two guardians have to look inside themselves to answer, sometimes being a bit too unguarded in their answers... letting the frustration and exasperation they feel towards others seep out. If they were guarded, however, their answers might not come off as genuine, and you've demonstrated Cozy's still very capable of figuring that out.

Speaking of the questions I often wonder a few of the same questions Cozy asks Starlight and Trixie. It's a hard thing to show to someone who's only been able to function a certain way, that is destructive, that there's a better way to exist. This story really does capture the idea that Friendship is Magic.

Really enjoying this work

Interesting to finally meet Cozy Glow's adoptive family, and peer into the past... this chapter is certainly setting something up. Love the names and the relationship with Cozy the two are implied to have here.

Also, really dig the pacing and Trixie's reactions to everything. Wonder yet where this is going...

This is a chapter where everything seems to be getting ready to put something into plan. Throughout the story both characters have been wrestling with inner demons, one being a consequence of deferring negative emotions into the other. I think it would be neat, and completely believable, if they did something like this in the series.

The dialogue, especially between Starlight and Trixie, continues to be very playful and their relationship is quite relatable as friends.

I think I can see where this is going, but I'll just have to see ^^

Interesting turn of events here. I like how the chapter progressed, as well as its pacing and title. The questions Cavern's of Conflict opens up are few, though it's possible they might to germinate into something neat down the road :yay:

Continuing to love the Startrix relationship going on here. They're playfully written, but still believably serious in that they've got something going on that requires a lot of care to get through... if not perilous. A lot of emotion out of Cozy Glow that seem quite intense. It's a given, though, after what's been set up for her that she'd be at the very least volatile. On occasion her flare-ups of emotion come across as a bit jarring, as she's in full rage mode using very raw language without warning, though the times it's established what exactly has set her off are a bit chilling with the way she's written.

All in all very enjoyable chapter

Interesting shift in tone and pacing. Luna's part and dialogue are rather enjoyably written. The episode with the tantibus was quite memorable and works well as a parallel for the brief time she's here.

I'm also intrigued to read more about Cozy's take on Emerald Ebon's Cutie Mark. It's natural things're going to change given what's happened, though her opinion is strongly negative right now. Cozy seems additionally anxious, but possibly that's just because of the transition in her.

At the very least this story perhaps could be considered a take on purging oneself of negative emotions, thoughts, and past actions that were all bottled up, while having friends nearby to help pick up the pieces. It's keeping me guessing about the little things.

Always a bit continues to reside. Makes sense, things can germinate and be triggered unexpectedly. Also, I like how Emerald Ebon's new self-discovery is being used here ^^

Very interesting

Holy cow.... I don't want to spoil anything for new readers, but this is totally awesome. I love what happened in the last half here, and what that could open up. Any chance The Lord of the Rings might've played a small part in influencing a particular theme here?

Life's about moving forward. Not everyone's going to be able to fully understand what's gotta be done for that, even those closest, or maybe they'll even be afraid of it, but in Starlight's case they at least either help her or concede this is something she has to do. It seems like Starlight desperately wants to break out from walls she's put around herself and the inadvertent pain that anger has caused. Intense stuff.

I also like the relationship Starlight and Cozy Glow have here, with Starlight becoming more and more responsible for Cozy, like a mother. It's cool

Oh, my... that's sweet ending. Love it.

Starlight made and then unmade the problem, deconstructing it piece by piece, despite others initially imploring her to leave things as they were, as justice was taken care of and, as the story went on, to do anything else could be risky... risky to herself, risky to others It even had the potential to be risky to Cozy Glow. Starlight ended up not only succeeding, but morphing into whatever was necessary to see the problem fixed, giving up powers offered to her at the same time to see things through. That's sacrifice in the form of penitence and growth, as she sees what she did and is moving towards a greater idea than what she started out with. Rather than moving away from the void or drowning it out with the false security in other's ideas, she faced it and tried to replace it with a more stable, nurturing environment, injecting herself into it in way Cozy would never see.

I gotta ask again, was The Lord of the Rings at all a source of inspiration? Not the quest, but a few minor themes here and there.

There are a few issues with some typos and stylistically a few things didn't entirely go with what I was expecting in terms of execution (all minor), but overall the direction and message is really awesome.

Your take on what could be done with Cozy Glow is really cool, as well as an arc for Starlight Glimmer.

I his was a better end than that mess Hasbro made
