This story is a sequel to A Sleepy Conversation
The day has finally arrived! The Elements of Harmony are at this year's Grand Galloping Gala. While the night's still young, everypony seems to get just what they've always wanted. However, as the night progresses, things start to get interesting. Twilight Swish keeps running into Princess Luna, of all ponies. Rainbow Zap somehow gets mistaken as one of the Wonderbolts. Apple Jet ends up selling apples upon apples at her sister's cart. Fleur de Lis seems to be getting a lot of attention...from the animals! Rarity is pretty sure the prince is hitting on her. And Pinkamenia Dawn Pie is chatting up all of the most prominent party ponies. It's truly a dream come true...
...for the wrong ponies.
Why do I get the feeling that this may not end well..., oh well keep up the good work.
Sorry I took a while to get around to reading this. I didn't know you already started on it until just now. Anyway, wonderful job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. I especially liked the "fairy tales" argument (and, no offense, Fleur, but Twi is actually right concerning the "bug ponies". but it will be a few months before you meet them) as well as the detail of Rainbow getting the proper permits for her stand and the point out concerning the detail of getting the carriage OUT of the building. And yeah, the "opposites" argument at the end of the chapter was pretty good too.
Now, on to the next chapter.
Once more, this is a really good chapter. The characterizations, comments and future chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places. I especially liked the little continuation of Twilight and Fleur's "fairy tales argument" during the carriage ride as well as the logical alterations to "the Gala Song".
Very definitely going to be looking forward to this, but I WILL respect that real world concerns need to come first.
Wonderful work on this latest chapter. I loved how Fleur had so much trouble getting through the maze. As well as the irony of having the exact opposite type of trouble from the animals than her canon self did. In addition to the irony of the object of her amorous pursuit talking to one of her friends.
Anyway, splendid job on the characterizations, humor and future chapter set-up in all the right places. Now I am VERY certainly going to be looking forward to more of this.
Really good chapter depicting (this version of) Rarity's side of things. The exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are well done in all the right places. I like how Rarity TRIED to tell Charming she was NOT interested (WITHOUT being rude about it), but still only accepted the company because of the circumstances , but, I liked the last scene with Rarity and Fleur EVEN MORE. And, yes, I WILL quite agree that this is coming along splendidly.
REALLY good job on this Rainbow Zap focused chapter. Loved the work that went into the characterizations, background info exchanges and future chapter set-up. Yeah, it makes pretty good sense that Apple Jet would have so much trouble getting into flight school, but still made it through sheer determination. And, even in THIS universe, Rainbow had bad experience with Zephyr it seems. Plus, Rainbow's denying both a jealousy concerning pegasi AND an attraction to Soarin' was pretty funny.
I'm going to guess that Apple Jet's chapter will be next, then Twilight's, then Dawn's then an epilogue where the group reunites and discusses their night with Gummy. Though, I will freely admit that I could be wrong.
But, at any rate, I WILL be looking forward to more of this regardless.

REALLY good job on this latest chapter. Again, the work on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places. I especially liked the irony of the business at Zap's booth picking up shortly after Jet filled in for her sister (as well as the DOUBLE irony of it happening when Jet was trying to TAKE A BREAK from that crowd for a while). And, yeah, I also really liked AJ's observations concerning the two Fleurs.
Of course, next chapter, we're going to see Zap checking in on Twilight.

I especially liked Twilight's reflections on how she grew to admire the Magnabolts AND her interactions with Luna. Though, all things considered, I wonder how Twilight's thoughts on the Magnabolts would sour if she found out the co-captains were her best friend's worst enemies. And, yeah, I have to admit, I got a real kick out of Luna mentioning to Twilight that she got picked to help in the restoration of the Royal Sisters' old castle.
Anyway, I WILL definitely be looking forward to more of this, but will also respect the need for patience.
And, yeah, I will also most certainly be looking forward to your spin on the Cutie Mark Crusaders' origin.
Loved Dawn's reflections on certain details concerning the Gala AND the questions she was planning on asking Celestia. And the scenes with Press Release and Fancy Pants were quite well done.

Loved the exchange between Celestia and Luna concerning the way the Galas tend to go as well as the Mane Six and Gummy recapping how their night went to each other, Joe AND Luna.
All in all, the exchanges, characterizations, general wrap-up and future story set-up are all well done in all the right places.
As for the next story, well, that's hard to tell. It's only the sixth story (counting the current one which is set before this one), so there is a lot of things it could be. Whatever you choose, though, I'll definitely be looking forward to it.)
