When Dawn receives two tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala, it seems like a dream come true! Gummy is obviously going to come with, but when Apple Jet hears about them she gets a little too excited. As does Twilight. And Fleur. And Rarity. And just about everypony else in Ponyville!
What will a pony do for a ticket? Apparently anything, even your taxes.

Oh dear this won't end well, nice story by the way.
Sorry it took me a while to notice this fic, but I have to say thanks very much for getting the next story in this series started. Great job of course on the exchanges and characterizations. I particularly liked the modification on the wager (to better suit Rainbow than Mac) AND modifications for the REASONS AJ and Twi might want to go to the Gala (particularly the "future story set-up" included in AJ's reason [i.e. passing reference to the Flim-Flam Brothers]) as well as how Pinkamenia is TRYING to tell them that the second ticket is meant for Gummy, NOT either of them, but they are both too stubborn to listen .
Here is a possible one for the end:
1. Instead of returning the two tickets, Pinkamenia could ask Celestia for five more tickets (so that she can have enough tickets for all of her friends and STILL give the original second ticket to Gummy as she originally planned) .
But, well, I can respect if you don't like the idea.
Anyway, on to the next story.
Hello there. Once again, very good work on the latest chapter. The exchanges and characterizations were, as usual, well done. And, indeed, I liked how Dawn was getting JUST Genre Savvy enough to lampshade that ALL of her friends are going to want that other ticket when they find out about it.
Plus, here is another possible exchange for either the end of this story or for later in another:
Twilight: No offense, Fleur, but, well, as weird as it is for ME to accuse somebody else of reading too much, I have to say, you've been reading WAY too many romance novels.
Fleur: Oh, really?
Twilight: Yes, really. Besides, I heard about that prince from my brother, who is in the Royal Guard. What my brother said about him, well, it was NOT as flattering as YOUR image of him by a long shot, and my brother has had to bodyguard that prince enough times to know what he's talking about. But even if he WERE as gallant and all that as you seem to think he is, he would still think you would be coming on too strong.
Fleur: Well, okay, maybe I HAVE exaggerated A FEW details. But your brother is in the Guard?
Twilight: Yeah. He is. Plus, he is a close friend of Celestia's NIECE (i.e. the prince's adopted cousin), which gives him EVEN MORE reason to know what he's talking about concerning that prince's actual behavior.
Dawn: Celestia's niece? You don't mean Cadance, do you?
Twilight: Yeah, I do. She used to foalsit me a lot back when she and my brother were in high school.
Dawn: Somehow, I get the feeling that she and your brother are A LOT closer than just "'close friends'".
Twilight: Hey! No further spoilers please!
Of course, if you don't like the idea, I will completely understand.
And, yeah, I'll definitely be eagerly looking forward to more of this.

While I absolutely love your ideas, especially the exchange between Twilight, Fleur, and Dawn, this particular installment is all planned out already. I honestly think you'll like how they get their tickets in this story a lot better....but I don't want to spoil it for you. Plus, there is a couple of small twists in this universe that prevent that particular conversation from taking place.

Anyway, VERY good work on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. And I definitely understand concerning having other plans. That's MORE THAN fair enough.

VERY good job on this latest chapter. In addition to how well you did on the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up, I also liked the logic behind how the others got THEIR tickets. Admittedly, I admit I half-expected Celestia to send them all tickets in the mail in gratitude for stopping Nightmare Moon and returning her sister to her, but THIS makes sense too.
At any rate, I have to ask, is this the last chapter and you simply haven't put the "Complete" tag up, or is there an epilogue coming up? Either way is cool by me. I'm just curious.

Actually...there’s a bit of a...discrepancy between the story and the photos. My cover story is the photo is their ‘sportsmanship hoof shake’ and then they precede to wing wrestle. As mentioned in the last book, Twilight is an even match for AJ because while AJ relies purely on strength, Twilight uses strategy and fast calculations to make up for it. Plus, this Twilight isn’t just a book worm. She can be pretty active when she wants too.

Its also weird how the Pegasi are suppose to be the weakest of the three tribes and yet Apple Jet and Twilight are *stronger* then the rest of the cast.
