This story is a sequel to The Alicorn Trials
Ever since Princess Celestia made the revelation that the other members of the Mane 6 can become alicorn princesses, life hasn't exactly been the same. Applejack took it the hardest, of course. How could somepony like her can become an alicorn? Her whole life and destiny has been on her farm, so everything she thought she knew about herself had become so mixed up.
Months later, AJ's dragon friend, Spike, received an urgent message from Ember to help her solve a threat that has been made against her. He asks Twilight and Applejack to accompany him there; inviting AJ because he had thought maybe that a trip can help ease her mind on the whole thing she has been facing.
However, both Spike and Applejack deal with problems of their own: they could slowly be getting an attraction to each other. Will Applejack's life make sense once more, and solve the threat? Or will more conflict rise up that will force her life-changing decision upon her?
Okay, I'm actually curious to see where this goes. Maybe all six of the girls being alicorn princesses will work out. I'll just have to see.

And I love how descriptive you got when Spike went over how he each felt about the girls. Love the song choice here, it works well with the story and it's one of my favorites. 
Hope you get better, I haven't been feeling so good either along with other people I know, what is it with winter being the worst time to get sick? And yay, Flashlight will be next in Stories of True Love! All and all this was a very sweet chapter!

Also I hope they'll have a heart-to-heart talk about this big decision she has to make with Spike giving his reasons and AJ considering his words. The ship has gotten stronger. At the same time, Spike's decision to have AJ accompany them totally feels natural and believable.
As great as it was for Ember to ask for Spike's help, at the same time I feel you could've used the map to call on Spike, Twilight, and Applejack making it more easier for the three of them to go but then I guess we wouldn't have that cute exchange between our favorite dragon and country pony. While they were staring at each other I couldn't help but think of the others' reactions afterwards.
I can't wait for what happens next!

I loved it! I was confused of what song you were using at first and it took me awhile to figure out it was from the Island Princess, this is why I tell my readers ahead of time of what song I'm using in the chapter so they have a chance to find it and hear it so they don't get confused in the middle of the story and that it's much more enjoyable to read. That's my only problem with the chapter, but everything else about it was so sweet! I love how Applejack and Spike are conflicted with their feelings and I really hope they realize how much how deep their feelings go! And thank you for updating this story even though I'm sorry to hear about your tablet troubles and hope that it gets fixed eventually. But I really needed this after the latest episode, since it feels the writers are trying to push for Spirarity even though the end of the episode was just further proof on how bad a couple they would be!
Sorry, but it just bugs me that try as Spike might, Rarity just never gives him anything in return and that's not healthy in any relationship, no one should have to all the loving and all the work themselves. I wish they would finally address that and have Rarity come clean on where Spike stands in her life. Or at least have Spike realize that there are better options when it comes to finding that special someone. Again sorry for the rant, I just wanted to get that off my chest, all the more reason why I love how you write for AppleSpike because you get the potential on how they can truly be a couple and possibly true loves. As for the next couple in Stories of True Love I want SoarinDash but I have a feeling that CheesePie is going to win, which is okay with me but my top vote is SoarinDash mainly because I really want to see what their Romeo and Juliet scenario will be like. Thanks! And no need to worry. I never was one for Spirarity either, even in the beginning when I first started watching My Little Pony. Maybe soon, the writers might come clean. All we can do is hope.

Even if AppleSpike doesn't become cannon I just want Spike to move on from Rarity because it's a bad lesson to kids thinking they can get their crush when that rarely happens and from Spirarity's dynamic I can tell it's a path to an unhealthy relationship and if kids follow their example then they'll end up becoming depress from the lack of love and respect their spouse gives them in the future.
