One night, Princess Celestia had a very surprising vision concerning the Mane 5. When she, Princess Luna, and Princess Twilight realize the meaning of it, the Mane 5 will have their world changed forever. They learn that their biggest and toughest choices they will soon make will require immense sacrifice of what they knew, dreamed, and worked for. Ultimately, what they choose will not only affect them, but the ponies they care most about and all of Equestria.
Luckily, they have each other to learn how to be strong and willing to choose whatever choice they make in the future. Will they stay the same, or will they have to eventually rise to the occasion, embrace their true destinies, and join together to form the Princesses of Harmony?
This is a prologue to the series "The Alicorn Trials".

A six part saga, uh? Then I guess this means you are going to make the girls alicorns after all. I will admit some of the songs seem unnecessary for the story other then Twilight's Failure Song, the other two undermined the seriousness of the girls having to make the choice of becoming alicorns or not. And if you're going to add in your ships, I can see how this would affect all of them relationship wise. Though Discord and Spike would actually benefit from this given their long lifespans, Discord would have the love of his life and Spike would have his love along with all his best friends. For the others however... yeah, you get the idea. Just what would be the consequences if they refused? Why couldn't they just live their normal lives? The show has shown us that them living their regular lives has no affect with them saving Equestria, yes, I know it's an alternate universe but I hope there's a really good reason as to why they have to make this choice. All and all, I look forward to how you move this concept forward.

And to CartoonNerd12, I can see what you mean. As for the consequences if they refused, it could be in regards to what they want, and not what others need from them.
