In one of the alternate realities created by Star Swirl the Bearded's time travel spell, Nightmare Moon rules Equestria, Celestia is banished to the moon, the Night Guard and Nox Legion enforce their Princess's reign, the Elements of Harmony have been scattered and the ponies of Equestria live dependent on Nightmare Moon's magic to survive. However, all is not lost, for Twilight Sparkle, an orphaned unicorn, is the key to restoring Equestria to its former glory. With unlikely allies, she must find the Elements of Harmony, as well as brave all kinds of dangers, including Nightmare Moon herself, and her greatest warrior:

Rainbow Dash.

This looks promising.

7605726 Thank you. How do you like Rainbow Dash in this fic so far?

She's interesting, but honestly, I despise Rainbow. Period. She's an annoying character and it's hard for me to like her, but version's of her like this make me want to see what she will do.

Not much I can say except excellent job on the emotional content, exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in this story. I particularly liked your spins on Rainbow and Rarity (I can definitely understand why Rarity would be so upset). The brief scene with Sweetie Drops was also well done. Also, considering what Nightmare did to her parents (and, probably, big brother too), let's just say that THIS timeline's Twi is MUCH more justified in her hatred of Nightmare Moon than Batman was of Superman in "Dawn of Justice". Ooops (sheepish grin). Got off on a tangent there. My apologies.

At any rate, I will definitely be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

7607615 Thank you. What do you like about Rainbow Dash so far?

7607797 Well, despite the fact she serves Nightmare Moon, she still isn't completely devoid of honor or a conscience. Which makes it look like she is more "loyal to the wrong side" than actually evil.

At least that's the way *I* saw it. I could be wrong.

7607847 That's one way to put it. Of course, she's also conflicted with her duty to Equestria.

This looks really promising. I have to say, it's annoying that ponies would so easily hate Celestial especially one as loyal as Rainbow. Dragons rarely showed up in Equestrian except for the Dragontown, and the Dragon Migration, so it is idiotic that ponies would be able to turn on the mare that kept them safe without demanding tribute (taxes didn't count as those are needed to run the government). Still, this is really well written.

7608082 Nightmare Moon has a way with words. Besides, it's mostly Rainbow Dash she's convinced Celestia was a tyrant.

Ahhh, that does explain a lot. I wonder how Twilight will grow now. I do have to say again I always figured the dragon egg was a test for her alone, because otherwise all graduates would have dragons and we'd see more dragons and Spike would know more about his own kind.

Sorry I took a while to get around to reviewing this. Nothing to blame except self-admitted laziness. Anyway, excellent job on the action, exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. I particularly liked Twi's "Jedi mind trick" scene with the guards , the bit with the resistance group's own similar break-in coinciding with Twilight's and the scenes with both Applejack vouching for Twilight and Rainbow getting extra determined to nail Twilight . And, well, I have to say if I did NOT know any better (and, thankfully, I do), I would ALMOST swear that Zephyr messed up his team ON PURPOSE at least partially due to his (seriously one-sided) crush on Moonie's guard captain .

And, anyway, I know the next chapter will probably take a while, but I also know it will be WELL WORTH the wait.

A rather classic example of the "self-serving coward that got a bit too full of himself". I have to admit I got a certain amount of satisfaction from Rainbow putting him in his place with a few words.

Great work on this chapter.
