I had planned to add a short, fun adventurey segment. And then the inspiration struck. The bitch. Good news, it came out much more epic than I had planned, and is well on par with "The Past" in epicness. Bad news, that adds a whole bunch of proofreading and editing and that takes time.
Also, as "The Past" came a full circle with the first segment of "Late Night Guest", "The Future" will come a full circle with "Upon the Stars".
Hm. This one was also really well written, with a lot of fantastic detail, especially on the moon. Wonderful idea with Penumbra in the timeloop and the actual reason for Eternal Night.
It just read like an entirely different story in a related universe that uses the same characters. A very good story... just not belonging in this one? Blueblood had no role leading up to this even though I can see his character doing it, Xaroth didn't... ah, I don't know, maybe he's just rather flat compared to your deeply fleshed out main cast. In another story he would be a nice villain, here he lacks detail compared to all your other major characters that are so incredibly well done.
But Luna suddenly doing something like this to her sister after how we got to know her in the past 80-90k words? That felt forced due to the need of a great showdown, yet this story needed none. *scratches head*
As I said, as a standalone with the dark tag, seriously great short story. Without the happy end though; that happened to fast after the horror and tragedy of Blueblood's sacrifice. And I love Nadir's constant suggestiveness... just not here. Again, too much carefree happy end. I know, it's tuned down a little by Celestia falling to her knees in front of Luna and all that, but I can't get myself to like it.
Entertaining read at the wrong place. On to the epilogue then.
lol foursome
oh god this is even more brilliant-er than ever.
DO go on
PS Naughty naughty zebbers :D
The last chapter may come out a bit delayed.
