War changes people and the mane six are no exceptions. In their finest hours they lost friends, family, and even themselves. Now they live their lives dealing with the stress of loss and how each of them deals with it varies from one to the other. The only thing for certain is that they've changed, they've all changed.

After reading the description I am going to recommend you track down an editor.

Loss

"War, war never changes."

But War will change you.

Wow... I find myself saying that a lot in My Little Pony fanfics.

Damn, that's harsh for Rarity...

This story is a good read.

7364842 If I could ever find an editor that sticks around I would, but really I was just tired last night. Thanks for pointing that stuff out.

7365574 you are welcome sir.

Also I recomend checking here.

7365305 More is coming soon, everyone in the main six gets a chapter, I can't say the chapter will get harsher, but it will be about the same overall in tone.

War... War never changes...

And now I feel depressed! Poor AJ....

If your dreams become reality by the dead of others, it's better that they stay as dreams.

Holy.... I don't know what to say after reading this, is too tragic!

Only one left. . .

Maybe two, since Glimmer seems to be in the story as well.

Fluttershy took a big one herself!

Now, I bet there will be two more: Twilight's one and a final one where all the Mane six (and Starlight maybe?) get together.

Aaaaannnnnnd I knew it! Too simple just making chapters only about the mane six singularly, so here comes the magical number seven!

This chapter, though, wasn't good like the others. While the previous ones were focused on how the girls feel after the war and their problems, this one was less focused on Twilight's aftermath and more on preparation for the next chapter.

7427042 Yeah, I had that same feeling. I might need to do a redo on Twilight because the morning after I posted I remembered there was a bunch of stuff I was going to add. Since it's still early I might do that first before the next chapter.

Ehhh, the final part was really demotivating. The rest of the chapter, where Twilight gets to put the team together was good, but this ending really blows. Sorry for this.

7485376 That's fine.

7485405

No! Not like this!!! Rainbow!!!!

7487143 She's fine, unless you read the original ending from this morning.

7487165

I read the original. Don't scare me like that!

7487205 Sorry about that, I finished that last night and when I left for work in the morning I had a "This would be better moment" luckily I had to leave work early, so I was able to change the ending. Whether or not it's better is up to opinion, depending on how many read the original ending.

I personally like the revised ending better.

I'm glad I forgot to take the tracker off after the original ending, or I would have missed the revision

7488990 I didn't know the tracker showed when edits appear or did I re-post the chapter? I had a house closing that day, so I can't recall.

Neither. I was just checking back to make sure the story was really over, and I saw in the comments that the chapter was modified.

7490254 I see, getting back on track, is it save to assume you liked the revised ending more? I'm trying to get a feel of what works better for future stories.

Well, it's best if you have a rough idea on what tone your ending will be. If you're going to have an ending like the one you had originally, you should tag it as a Tragedy. As it says in the tag information.

The literary term “Tragedy” shouldn’t be confused with how the expression of something being “tragic” is used. A sad story is not necessarily a tragedy when in writing. Tragedy involves the downfall or failure of the main character. This again, does not mean that they die—the tragedy can lie in the failure to achieve something they have worked for through the whole story. The build-up to such a thing and the eventual failure is what the tragedy is.

As for future stories, you can pretty much do whatever you want. Not everyone is going to like your story or it's subject matter. But what's important is that you enjoy writing it.

7490317 All true, though I'm bit embarrassed to admit this, but the first ending wasn't actually supposed to be the ending. I forgot the ending and was in a "I want to get this done mood" so I went with the first thing that come to mind and in the morning after going to work I came up with a better one.

Usually I have the endings worked out before hand, but the final chapter wasn't planned, so I had to scramble a bit.

Either way, I'm glad to get feed back, it helps improve.
