The Captain of the Lunar Battalion is being discharged from service, plagued with a problem Equestria has not seen since the Pax Equestria. But thanks to the rise of Equestria's enemies, both foreign and internal, he is the first pony to experience it since before Nightmare Moon's banishment. He'll learn what friendships can do to a pony, what they can take and destroy, and what they can repair, throughout his journey into Ponyville's community and himself.
Rated teen for some violent/gory scenes of war, along with swearing and adult themes.

You'd be really surprised how many fics there are out there that are absoulutely amazing, but don't get a lot of views. I always love it when i find one, cause it's such a nice surprise.

A good story overall, but the ending seems rushed. Feels like you got to the end and then just threw in the towel for the conclusion.
How in the heck hasen't this gotten like 200+ up votes yet? this story is epic mate! keep up the awesome work I can't wait to read more of your stuff
It's been a pretty good story I think. Definitely deserves more likes and reads! I'll try and send some feedback/constructive criticism when I can think of what to write, but for a first fanfic, NOT SO BAD! Good job!

I may be late for the party but I just want you to know that I really REALLY loved this story. Usually it's hard for me to get attached to others' original characters but this time I was really hooked up the whole time. I enjoyed the narration style, altought I usually write using the third person and I liked how you developped the 'earth pony magic-thing'; I'm not used to earth pony character, so that was unexpected^^.
I spotted a few typing errors along the way but my own english is poor, so I think I'll just shut up, haha.
I've started reading this right after 'Rarity and the devil', about two days ago.
Are you going to continue that story? I adore it so far :3
Back to 'Discharged', the story kept a very good pace 'till the last chapters, where I had the felling of being a little rushed. But it's only my humble opinion. I'd liked to read more Crimson-Twilight cuteness but you know what, it's fine this way.
Also, the deaths by the earthquake. Dunno, but they are not so necessary to me...you know, three mares are dead, then the sudden invasion, long live Crimson and everypony forget about them XD
I'm still blaming big mac though....
By the way, this is an amazing story and I wish I could have read this sooner.
