Where did Celestia disappear to, the night of the 1,000th summer sun celebration?

Why didn't Nightmare Moon simply kill the mane six?

What was The Nightmare willing to do in its hatred, and The Princess willing to do for her beloved little ponies?

This is that fateful night, but told from perspectives we haven't seen.

Thank god for a happy ending, I thought this was going to be a tragedy at the end of the first chapter.

Oh my, oh my.

A pity we didnt see much of Shining Armor and his thoughts during the events between NMM and Celestia. Maybe in the next chapter.

Lovely but like in the first chapter, Shining Armor is just a tool rather then a character in the story. Not even a useful tool really it seems heh.

Well, he served a purpose for Nightmare Moon; helping her realize the limits of her rule-bending. What greater purpose can you ask for than to be a tool in a malicious god-entity's hooves? :rainbowderp:

A large network of runes were inscribed into the stone platform in marble, obsidian, gold and silver, all embezzled with jewels of a wide range of kinds.

embezzled? Shouldn't this be something like embellished?

This is the BEST STORY EVER!!!!!!!:pinkiehappy::heart:

Celestia still faced her vanity. Her head was bowed again, her face hidden in her mane. A teardrop splashed against the wood in front of the mirror. Her voice only hinted at the cracks in her composure, “Within Nightmare Moon's grasp is my sister. You will not harm her with violence. I would sooner have you impale me than her.” her voice shook. “I was forced to slay her a thousand years ago, and her soul, as mine will when I die, went to her astral body. Only now will she finally regain the strength to return.”

slay her? Don't you mean banish her?

“I know.” Celestia's voice suddenly hardened with determination, and her wings flared. Her eyes became solid white, her mane turning to fire as her body shone like the sun, blinding her sister and guard. Her shroud and wreath had vanished. She didn't move her lips, yet her voice echoed off the mountains as rolling thunder, “REMEMBER.”

Little bit of daybreaker huh?

You been through so much
And i understand it
Its time the night not be hated

This is a very fascinating story! I love this version of Nightmare Moon. I dare say that NMM is Equestria's true queen. Why isn't there a NMM emoji?
