There were a lot of grammar and punctuation errors, but aside from that the story was pretty nice.
It's an interesting concept but fails in delivery . the main catyclism for twilight and the others to get their cutie marks and ultimately get to know each other is rainbow dash doing a rainboom, and spike plays no part in that . Regardless if the egg had not hatch , twilight would have still lost control of her powers and celestia seeing her powers would have still asked her to become celestia's protege , pinkie would have learned how to have fun , and so forth . Also someone else would have gotten spikes assistant job .since celestia would have seen twilights potential anyways . As much as I like the lil guy . He is probably the only character that you can replace with someone else and things would still have turned out the same .
The Writters should put a story like this in the show but I doubt they will but anyway good story pal

A most heartwarming story. Everything was well paced as we learned just how much a difference having Spike around really makes in the world of Equestria.

Of course, I'm a little confused. Surely Pinkie, Dashie, Fluttershy, A.J., and Rarity had been friends long before they met Twilight. There earlier attitudes wouldn't have changed... if not for this even bigger problem:
Shouldn't this alternate reality have Equestria under the reign of Nightmare Moon? Without Spike, Twilight would probably have grown more bitter; without the Twilight we know in love, there would be no Elements of Harmony; and without the Elements, Nightmare Moon would've won.
Also... What about the Crystal Empire? What would've happened in a world without "Spike the Brave and Glorious?"
I really like this concept, although I do feel that Spike's Reason for not wanting to be born was a bit too over-reactionary.
