I'm a writer, artist, and animation buff. I'm hoping to make my mark in the world by doing what I love most. My favorite characters are Discord, Luna, and Twilight Sparkle.

The winter edition of my “Seasonal Plays” series and my Hearth’s Warming story. Spike takes the lead role in Trottingham’s play “Pony on the Hearth” as a dragon the size of a cricket. This is based off the Rankin-Bass adaptation of “Cricket on the Hearth”.

He had never gotten into acting much and like Fluttershy, he was a bit shy on stage.

Okay, I can understand not being into acting, but how is it possible for Flash to be shy on stage? The guy's human counterpart is the lead of a rock band and therefore, would have to be on stage frequently. I understand that, given the different environments the counterparts are exposed to, they will have some differences in personality, but I didn't think they'd be that different. :rainbowhuh:

Well, I don't know the author's intent, but I find this perfectly believable. EG Flash might have had to overcome his stage fright at the start of his rock band hobby in order to be willing to get up on stage. Maybe in the seventh or eighth grade there was a talent show and he was scared but he managed to overcome his fears because he really, really wanted to play guitar on stage, and once he did it, and found out he was good at it, the fear lessened, so he could make himself keep doing it. Pony Flash, not being a musician in the same way (for all we know he does play a pony instrument, but he probably gave it up when he joined the Royal Guard, or at least he only does it as a hobby), has no need to keep forcing himself to go on stage, so he hasn't learned how to do it without getting stage fright yet.

6700175 Well, I guess that makes sense. :ajbemused:

"Cricket on the Hearth"? I'm intrigued. Some Rankin-Bass specials deserve a lot more love.

On the first Hearth’s Warming…there was no winter snow

Umm, hmm, I know adapting lyrics can be a pain, but according to the show's canon, the first Hearth's Warming had PLENTY of snow, not to mention ice, a whole lotta ice. :applejackunsure:
