a nice small story.i liked it

Ha.......sequel

it was a good story it could of had been a bit longer but it is good:trollestia:

sequel its so funny :heart::pinkiesmile::twilightsmile:

What, no mention that there all related to Sombra? That crazy uncle no one talks about?

Lemme get this straight...I'm Twilight's granddaughter, by passed down generations, and now it turns out, the soul stone I house in my body, containing Luna's soul, is ALSO my grandmother?! Not to mention the fact that Derpy of all ponies, my ghouly bff delivery mare, is ALSO FAMILY?!!?! *Hyperventilating*

6268648 Exactly. He's the crazy uncle no one talks about.

All I have to say is...
HOLY GUACAMOLE :pinkiegasp: Thanks a whole lot guys!
I came up with this story after reading several stories in which Twilight was Luna's daughter.
And I do not plan for a sequel... It would ruin the punch line.

6268288 Don't know why you had two thumbs downs. It's one of the nicest things I've read.
Thank you

“Still, I can’t believe you two remained so calm when you found out.” Celestia whispered.
Luna shifted in her seat, “It really wasn’t all that shocking.”

I find it an even less of a deal than they do. Even if I found out I was related to a king or something 1,000 years ago I wouldn't care. Because thousands or millions of others could be related as well. Heck, about 0.5% of humanity is directly related to Genghis Khan, and that was only 600 years ago. After another 400 years his genes will become even more diluted than it already is. So, 1,000 years related isn't a big deal at all. Most ethnicities have at least some relation in that type of time period.

"Than we'll never speak of that ever."
^ "Then". :3

i think i like this better than the mother luna fics for twilight. it doesn't require a hard or tricky explanation about how the hell twilight could be the child of somepony who hadn't been on equestria for over 970 years before her birth

This was pretty neat, though the characters did seem slightly out of character, I liked it.

Nice, yet another story dealing with genealogy.:pinkiehappy:

You misspelled Shining Armor's name. Four times.

Wait, so if Luna is Twilights grandma, and Cadance is Celestia's niece, then does that mean that Shining married . . . his cousin? :pinkiegasp:

6278762 One, two, three... Where's the- OH four. Fixed  Thanks for pointing it out.

Okay, just read this, aaaaand...

6279431

Oh sweet Celestia, you're right. :pinkiegasp:

6279431 it's fine, they're probably cousins 57 times removed by now.

So Celestia is related to Derpy? That explains the niceness. DERPY IS CUTER.

6268891

No. A thousand times no.

6279431

Royalty. Incest is common. Gotta keep it all in the family.

6292635 Besides it's never properly explained exactly how Cadence is related to Celestia and thinking of the ungodly number of generations even within the 1000 years of Luna's banishment their relation would be as 200th+ cousins however many times removed. Any country in the world agrees that past like 3rd cousins or 3 times removed any relation is negligible and it's not technically incest or whatever.

That last line.

Seriously? Far too many spoilers... :facehoof:

“Weird… Hopefully we won’t come across another alicorn.”

“If we do, I hope she’s black with neon stripes,” Luna giggled.

Celestia rolled her eyes, “With our luck it’ll turn out to be a red stallion with abandonment issues.”

“Oh Celestia No!” Twilight cried, “That’d be just as bad as finding out Chrysalis is related to us!”

The middle one seems to be a reference to "Merely a Mare", but I don't think I've read the other two stories being referenced here. Which are they?

6613406 That's... actually a joke based on common bad ocs. Alicorns with neon color schemes and black and red alicorns with tragic backstories. I've also seen some think Chrysalis is Celestia's and Luna's other sister.

Ah. I've had the good fortune to miss most of those; the only one I can recall offhand is a deliberate spoof (featuring a red-coated, black-maned female alicorn).

"Merely a Mare" has its flaws as a story, but is actually pretty good. The alicorn in question is half way between being an antagonist and a plot device, rather than being one of the primary viewpoint characters, and was reasonably handled. The story also has an interesting take on Celestia and Luna (mostly due to it having been written before most of show-canon was established).

Would like a sequel
