Arctofire

An autistic teen who goes to a mental school.

E

Set in season two canon.

Nearly everyone knows that Spike has a crush on Rarity. Even if they haven't been told directly, the evidence isn't exactly hard to interpret.

But what happens when that crush goes to far.....?

A collaboration with Jarvy Jared.

Chapters (10)

Nice story, I just hope it will not get to much creepy in the next chapters.

:ajbemused: better you than me

:rainbowlaugh: I knew it ! Ha ha ha ha

:fluttercry: Their so cute together

:pinkiegasp: You two? NO way really?

 I got a book for that ! Crushes for Dummies . A first edition

:duck: What's a mare to do?

:moustache: Anything for the lady

:derpytongue2: I just don't know what went wrong!

:trollestia: He's Royalty :raritystarry::twilightoops:

:raritycry: MINE! He sure beats Blueblood (he cooks cleans waits on me hoof and claw)

Holy cow, the stories in the Similar feed are all revolving around Sparity! :rainbowlaugh: Oh, the irony...

Why is this story not a success? Both of us tried SO hard on it.

Success comes to those who dedicate everything to their passion in life. To be successful, it is also very important to be humble and never let fame or money travel to your head.

1) This story was put out recently.

2) The first three chapters were put out on the same day, so the aspect of trepidation and eagerness was lessened in effect.

What defines success? Is it the amount of likes to dislikes? Because, in all honesty, the upvote/downvote system is complete bullcrap, and should not be what solely defines a story.

A story is successful, yes, when it is popular, but that is not all. A story is successful when it improves the author. It is not the likes and dislikes, it's the criticism, the self-loathing of the story, the desire to improve and do better. These are binding factors that have birthed the greatest stories of all time. A story is a success when both sides feel that there's more to it than meets the eye. A story is a success when it makes a person think, consider, or evaluate differently, whether on a preconceived notion or something new entirely.

A story is successful when the authors are proud of it, and still willing to bash on it. It matters not if you tried your best on it; the best is never perfect, and there is no perfection. If you are happy with the end result, and are still willing to improve it, then the story is a success. Not because of some universal opinion, but because the definition of a successful story is so subjective that objectivity has no room here.

Take what you can get, and always keep trying to improve.

Well... looks like the last part is up next, and we get to see exactly how bad this is going to go, and probably how terrible Spike actually is or isn't.

I wonder if Sweetie has a crush on Spike.

She's still stringing him along.

Sweetie Belle giving a lecture on Spike?

:twilightblush: So how was the date?

:duck: Spikey chickened out with just a flutter of my eye lashes

:twilightoops: You scared him?

:raritywink: Now it's all on the other hoof

 So you're OK?

:raritystarry: Now I'm stalking him !

:rainbowhuh::pinkiegasp::flutterrage::applejackconfused:

:moustache: Some pony help me!

Keep at it till it's done, Success is not votes or popularity , Some will down vote just because it's not their 'head canon' or the 'rarijak' bunch.

just motor on. . .:trollestia:

Rarity needs to stop this now, otherwise it will only end badly for both of them.

Wow. I like this so far. I'll read it until the very end if you keep writing.

If anyone's wondering, Storm's little speech was inspired by this song. His last lines are taken directly from the song.

:moustache: If you have a change of heart I'll always be near.

:raritystarry: How mature..........

:trollestia: Spikes egg was sitting in the Royal pantry for years before he was hatched

:moustache: Even today I'm still scared of Denver Omelets

:duck: sitting for years?

:moustache: Ask me anything about cooking or Royal gossip :raritystarry::facehoof:

It was bound to happen get used to it.

That's a lot less angry than I expected Rarity to be. I expected at least a little of the attitude that Spike was disgusting or scaring her in her outburst to him. Something less reasonable than "I just don't like you like that."

I mean... she's expressed thoughts like that before, so I thought we'd see some here.

Aww, it's going to take some time for both of them to heal. I'm really happy with how Spike reacted, I was worried you would make him act maturely instead of like a child. Great climax.

She'ed hate her now? He'ed?

6191101 Thanks for pointing that out. I'm fixing it now.

But who's to say there's someone who longs for Spike?

This story isn't over.

6193694 It very much is. I don't want to make this one of those stories where it should have ended chapters ago but the author keeps on going.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though. And you can promise some more stories from me in the future.

6193701 I'm saying is you forgot to change it to 'Complete'
Any open story requests?

6193713 Okay, I guess I'll change it to complete. I am going to do a BTS chapter with both me and JJ talking about the production of this, so that's why I initially left it as incomplete. But the story is finished, so you're probably right. What I'm going to do next is just an extra.

This sure was a good Slice of Life fanfic. If only the show could make an episode like this...

6193729 I thought you didn't like it?

6193713 I don't see why not. Have you got any ideas for a story?

6193733 What if the Mane 6 and Spike came together and talk about how did they get their pets?

6193731 I like it. It has his flaws, but with the last chapters you got a lot of good points. It's a very mature story which threats with respect the idea of how much love can be beautiful but it must be something that both people feel.

6193747 Sounds really boring. I'm not going to be doing that.

6193752 Jarvy Jared saved this story from being a complete and utter disaster. He doesn't admit it, but I keep on assuring him that it's true.

6193756 You're way to much harsh on this story. I like it despite it has some flaws, but it also has a lot of good stuff.

This belongs either in a blog post or an Author's Note.

But it was interesting.

Hopefully you all have enjoyed this little story Arcto and I put together. It was certainly a pleasure working on this!

I have an idea for a spin-off of this story that I will be writing sometime in the near future. I won't reveal much, but it involves to characters introduced in one of the previous chapters—and they are not the main cast. Do with that information what you will.

6196336 I liked this story, not for nothing is among my favorites. :raritywink:

It isn't shipping if it's cannon, A good story needs conflict, characters that readers can relate to and a nice plot , Don't worry about down votes just have fun in the process,

I don't know what others are saying but I've enjoyed reading it (though Spike was a tad too creepy but hey that was the huge what if for this story right?) and it gets an upvote from me :) Great job and more power to you both! :)

I'm a huge Sparity guy but it was a good read I'll admit. +1 4 u

As someone who once had feelings very similar to Spike's, I understand the adoration and the frustration that comes with these one-sided relationships. It's not an easy thing to deal with and the outcome can often be worse than what happened here. Glad to see things turned out better with Spike and Rarity that it did with me and her. Nicely done.
