Return of the Other Discord

Starlight's car stopped in front of the building. She lifted the black briefcase while the driver exited the car and went to Pinkie Pie's side. He carried her over his shoulder as he and Starlight looked at the front of the old factory. They approached the doors and slightly opened them. Once they were inside, they saw working conveyer belts with many employees working their jobs simultaneously.

From above, Tirek looked down from the railings. His eyes caught Starlight and Pinkie and he smiled. Starlight and the driver walked up the stairs toward their boss, but Starlight still couldn't help but notice the workers working in equal amount of work. Tirek welcomed his allies with open arms. Behind him stood a large, human-sized capsule hooked to half-sized machines.

"Ah." Tirek sighed. "I'm glad you made progress this soon, Ms. Glimmer. Uh, Raul, could you set Ms. Pie into the siphoning chamber?"

The driver nodded and carried her to the capsule resting against the wall. As he gently rested the sleepy party girl inside, Starlight stepped up.

"Siphoning chamber? Tirek, what is that?"

"Simply put, it will harvest the Equestrian magic that's been bestowed upon her since the Fall Formal. It's an invention of my own making."

"Your own making?" Starlight asked. "I thought you were a psychology professor. That's what you said."

"Getting into people's heads is... more of a hobby, really. I am also the anonymous CEO of Tartarus Industries, the most efficient company in the US. It's a tough place to work, but that's why I have the most focused, most cooperative worker drones. It takes a lot of work to get them to stay in sync."

"I see." Starlight said nervously. "So... Tirek, if you need Equestrian magic, why would you specifically ask me to capture Pinkie Pie? This whole town is swarming with that magic."

"May be," Tirek agreed, "But according to our purple, Equestrian visitor, the most powerful form of magic is the one shared by her friends. In order to truly accomplish my plans, I need all six of those friends. All that's left is Rarity, Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Sunset Shimmer."

"Well, why did you want me to capture Pinkie first?" Starlight asked as she saw the capsule close in on the pink girl. "Couldn't Fluttershy have been a safer first choice?"

"Because," Tirek explained expressively, "I'm taking them from most to least dangerous. Pinkie Pie has the mind, attitude, and luck of a 6-year old girl at a county fair. That makes her an unpredictable wildcard. Now, you just need to acquire Rainbow Dash next."

"Makes sense." Starlight said. "Her athleticism can pose a bigger problem now."

"Hey, Red Guy!" the Reflection shouted from inside of the briefcase. Starlight opened it up and presented the hand-mirror to Tirek. "What about me? You said..."

"I know, I know." Tirek said. "I promised I'd release you from your hand-held prison."

"You can do that?" Starlight asked.

"I can now." Tirek said approaching the capsule. "I have to test my siphoning chamber somehow. Just hold him up in the air."

Starlight did as he commanded and raised the mirror high above her head. She closed her eyes as to not look. As Tirek types on the control panel, a small antenna popped out from the top and the inside of the chamber begin to glow pink. The antenna glowed the same color. A blast of pink lightning zapped out of it and hit the reflective surface on the mirror. As the impact struck, the Reflection screamed loudly which lasted a few seconds before the machine powered down. Steam hovered above the capsule and the mirror. Starlight looked into the mirror and gasped when she saw only her reflection.

"What was that?" Starlight asked in a panic. "Where'd he go?"

Suddenly, a familiar laugh echoed through the whole room. The Reflection appeared on the window pane excited and giddy. He roamed through the room jumping from one reflective surface to another.

"At last! I am finally free! Now, I can have some real fun! HAHAHAHAHA!

"Universe

Guess who's back

Discord's reflection

HA! Take that

Oh, he thinks

He's tougher

Well, he'll regret

Making me suffer

Oh, he thinks he's perfect, but wait until he'll see

That I'm very free

Very free

When he threw me in the trash

In my tortured, scarring past

THAT MISTAKE WAS HIS LAAAAAAAAST

NOW, I'LL HAVE

WHAT I CLAIM

DISCORD PLAYING

THE RULES OF MY GAME

HE MAY THINK

HE GOT AWAY

BUT NOW I'M BACK

AND HE WILL PAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY"

Suddenly, he started to fade slightly and he was confused.

"What?" the Reflection asked observing his clearer self. "What's going on?"

"Quick!" Tirek shouted. "Get back inside your mirror!"

Immediately, the Reflection vanished from the window and reappeared back in the handheld mirror. He breathed in and out heavily and loudly.

"What was that?" Starlight asked.

"It's just as I imagined." Tirek said. "I thought there might be some side effects of crossing friendship energy with the chaos energy Discord left you. You can only leave your mirror for a short amount of time before you have to return; otherwise, you'll disappear completely. Using up 1/6 of the girl's energy wasn't enough to break your seal permanently."

"1/6?" the Reflection asked. "Well, then, don't dial it down. Why don't you just give me a stronger dose?"

"No way. The human body can only take so much harvesting. If I use too much, she's going to dematerialize, and every element counts in this plan. I dialed it down to using 1/6 because we need all six girls."

"That still doesn't solve the Discord problem." Starlight added. "We need the Reflection to deal with him, but he can only be out of his mirror for a few minutes."

"That's all the time I need." the Reflection said. "Just continue luring in the girls. With each girl we've captured, my leave over my imprisonment will be even longer. And then, Discord will regret the day he threw me out."

That night, Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry just walked out of the café with two cups of coffee in their hands. They were conversing and comparing notes.

"So... about my pony princess counterpart..." Twilight said, "Did you, by any chance, get to know her?"

"A few minutes each time she visited." Flash answered. "We bumped into each other, shared a dance, gave hugs."

"Sounds wonderful." Twilight said. "So... if you ever want to get another cup..."

"Flashy, my man!" a familiar voice shouted. The two of them turned and saw Discord dashing toward them. Twilight rolled her eyes and Flash breathed heavily.

"Discord, hey." Flash said awkwardly. "This isn't really the best time."

"But I've been searching over town for you." Discord said. He held out a decorated card and passed it to Flash. "I'm in need of your services."

Flash held up the card to his face and read it aloud. "'Discord's Spring Break Introduction Extravaganza'?"

"Yep, the DSPIE." Discord asked. "Since my parents are negotiating a business deal in Denmark, that leaves my mansion free for a Spring party. It's tomorrow and I've got it all covered. Rarity can work on the decorations, Fluttershy is working on the Spring themes, and I've been trying to get ahold of Pinkie Pie, but for some reason, she's not answering. Anyhow, all I need now is a band to represent."

"And you need mine?" Flash asked.

"Well, I'm not asking you to operate my roller coaster." Discord answered.

"You have a roller coaster?" Twilight asked.

"I bet I have a lot of things you don't know about." Discord said. "So, Flash, what do you say?"

"Well... I don't see why not." Flash answered. He turned his head to Twilight and they smiled at each other. "Can I bring a Plus-One?"

"By all means." Discord said. "As long as you're not bring..." He saw the two of them looking at each other and sighed. "You are. Honestly, I can't believe what... I'm... seeing." He stopped paying attention when he saw the window on the other side of the street. On the reflective surface, it looked exactly like Discord placing his thumb on the tip of his nose and wiggled the rest of his fingers. The real Discord squinted with suspicion and walked past the couple.

"Discord?" Twilight asked. "Is something wrong?"

"Uh, no." Discord lied. "Just need to check something out. I'll see you at the party."

Before Flash could say anything else, Discord already left the area and inspected the mirror. All he saw from it was his actual, nonliving reflection. He scratched his scalp and couldn't help but be confused.

"What's going on?" Discord asked himself. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say I just saw... No, it couldn't be... couldn't it?"

Author's Note:

Hey, I didn't expect this chapter to be done this soon. I thought it would've been another couple days, but I'm getting through. Anywho, the song featured here is a parody of "The Skrawl Song" from the classic Nickelodeon show, ChalkZone.
