I have always been partial to the idea found in the story "Where Your Heart is" by Cloudy Skies for explaing why Pinkie (eventually) can stay in the clouds without a spell.

You should if you like a PinkieDash classic (a shp fic through and thorugh but a very good one).
In case you don't but you want to know the very cool spoiler as to how Pinkie could walk on clouds after the spell stopped...
Pinkie can walk on clouds at the end because things that a pegasus claim can stay on clouds hence why they can have furniture in their homes not made of clouds. By the end of the story Pinkie was able to stay because as Dashie essentially said that Pinkie was hers.
I highly recommend the story if that sort of story appeals to you.

6684421 I let a friend write it. He's getting an introduction to the whole writing thing and I basically told him the direction the story was taking and let him post what he had, sort of an experiment for him consequence free.
Good news! I found the text file of my last chapter on my computer so I'm uploading the re-edited version now! I think this ones even better!
I feel like it should be bittersweet. There isn't really a way to save Rainbow Dash at this point, but Pinkie Pie has the rest of her life ahead of her. Maybe you could end the story with a memorial or something? It's your story, but those are my thoughts about it. ^^

I love happy endings but I am not sure if you can make a well done one considering where the story has gone. If that is not feasible I would take the bittersweet ending.

6720178 I think bittersweet would be good since a happy ending might a little hard to accomplish maybe you could have an epilogue where pinkie pie and rainbow dash meet in the after life. Through right now I'm on my phone and it doesn't say when the chapters came out so If you haven't already wrote the chapter, that's my input.

I want happy lol... I know it's late, but happy would be well.... happy. Plus you made a light indication earlier in the story that she might not have actually busted that blood vessel in her brain. You left a plant that she actually isn't brain dead. When you had Pinkie say “"Come back, Dashie” Rainbow’s ear twitched in the night.
You made a point to make that plant. But you could still make it bittersweet with Rainbow maybe actually realizing that giving up flying may actually be better than dying....and her having to deal with that. Also obviously no more rainbooms
Give me a happy ending, give me those tears of happiness damnit!!!!!!
