Chapter One: Our Story Begins

Luna smiled as she squared her shoulders. Taking a quick look up to the moon, she smiled at her handy work. Her mind drifting to how odd it had felt tonight, as if something had been different. Still, it was no matter. She spread her wings. Nodding to her royal guards who gave her a salute. The she leaped into the air as if to take flight, only to vanish.

"I've been here four years and that still freaks me out a little." one guard said.

The rush of air was exhilarating as she dove into the dreamscape. Colors became sounds, sounds became feelings, the rules of the regular were flipped upside down and then thrown out the window.

But it was all comforting to her. A familiar places she traveled night after night. Looking down she spotted what looked like a good dream to start at.

For some reason it seemed to call out to her, and as she approached she could tell it belonged to a teenage stallion. One who was on the cusp of adulthood. She loved the dreams of teens. They had such passion, yet to be dulled by years of wisdom.

Luna's hoofs lightly touched down. As she looked around she guessed the boy must be from Manehattan. A guess based on the fact she was on a roof of a tall apartment building.

Careful not to e seen, she ducked into the shadow of a rooftop water tower. She had to carefully observe before she could interfere. Dreams were tricky like that. She looked around to spot what trouble might have drawn her here and spotted, HERSELF?!

She smiled a bit as she looked from the shadow. Hoof covering her heart as she felt it warm. She sighed, happy to see her subjects thinking of her. But still....why had this one made her flank that big. It wasn't fat just....big.

"My princess!" called a very male voice. Luna's eyes going wide as out walked a earth stallion with a rose and bottle of liquor.

"At least someone appreciates the night," Luna mumbled in hushed tones. Giggling to herself like a school filly. "In facts, its rather flattering."

Luna watched on for a few moments.

"Aww, hes holding my hoof.....And he put a hoof around me......and...." The smile disappearing as she started to get louder. "Heyheyheyhey, you keep that hoof on the shoulder Mr!" her shock starting to rise.

"Don't you get fresh with the princess of the night! My royal inner thigh is off limits!" Her face running red as the stallion seemed unaware of her. "And no getting to second base on the first date!" She could feel patients gone. "A princess does not do such unlady like things. GET MY HOOF OFF HIS-" she had had enough and blasted the two of them with magic. The dream suddenly warping as an etiquette teacher popped in and began lecturing them.

"There, perhaps that young colt will learn the proper respect for me!" And with that she flew off. Her head doing a double take as she looked back, her mind puzzled as she thought she caught a glimpse of a shadow veiled figure. It was gone though once she passed from the dream. Luna deciding it had just been a fluke, instead flying onward. Her heart lowering as she passed by one of the longer dreams. It belonged to a coma patient at the hospital.

Because of the fact it was medical, she couldn't change it, but she still liked to look in just in case. She flew close, glimpsing into it.

Yup, there he was still. Dreaming he was some odd soft lumpy pink creature named Mike Nelson. She felt bad as she looked and left. He was still trapped in that movie theater in space. His only friends a gold robot and a red robot as they watched the worst movies ever made.

She sighed, maybe later she would help despite not knowing how to. Spotting a very plain looking dream, she became curious. Plain was quite rare in the land of fancy and flighty. With a quick whoosh she flew into it. Her hooves landing on wood floor and looked around, realizing she was in some ones dining room.

Luna's eyes didn't have to wander long before they fell on a very clumsy pony. The blonde wall eyed mare sitting at the round dining room table.

"Hi," she called out before pushing a large red button in front of her. A muffin popping into existence right in front of her. "Wanna muffin?" She asked as she pushed it toward the princess.

"Ummmm....no, though thank you. Are you in distress though?"

Derpy smiled back as she ate the muffin and pressed the button twice more. Two more muffins appearing. "Nope!" She replied as she put another one in her mouth.

"Oh," Luna replied as she looked about. "Well, Ill just take a break here then." Luna looked out a window, noticing the rain before turning back to Derpy. She seemed to have more blueberry muffins.

"You know, maybe I could help make this better,"Luna Said. Derpy cocking her head side ways as the princess horn began to glow. Suddenly, in a magic poof, the table filled with at least 30 new red buttons.

Luna smiled wide as Derpy leaped up excitedly. "Now I can get bunches of muffins at once!" as she slammed her hoof down on one. A cookie popping in front of her. "Wha...."

Luna giggled as she grabbed the cookie and started to eat it. "See, now you can get a ton of sweets, and each button is random. way better right?"

Derpy looked at the buttons, devastated. "B-but.....I don't like sweets..." she said as she pressed another button. Cake appearing this time. Her hooves started to swing in a panic as she pressed more buttons. "M-Muffin!?!" She cried.

Luna took a step back. "errr....uhm...just calm down." Her eyes drifted outside noticing the weather getting worse. thunder and wind joining in.

In a panic, Luna turned and let put a magic blast. It hot the table and the buttons all disappeared. Being replaced by the original one labeled muffin. Luna let put a relived sigh as Derpy smiled. The storm outside seemed to calm itself as she reached for the button.

"I'm sorry, I was just trying to help make things bett-"

"AHHHGAAAAHAAHGHHAGHG" Derpy cried as she was flailing at the button again. each press generating a non muffin baked good.

"WHAT!" Luna yelled as she glanced outside. The storm raging full force as a tornado could be seen approaching. Trilling string instruments letting her know that danger was increasing. She looked around in a panic.

Derpy looked at the pancake with syrup that had appeared before her. Her frown turning to a gasp as it was shot by a beam of magic, turning it into a cup cake. She reached down to pick it up when another beam shot it and it turned to a cup cake.

Luna looked around, trying to find the source of it. her eyes landing on a shadow pony. "You will pay princess of the night. You will pay for your crime."

Her eyes wide, Luna knew it was time to run. "Every pony abandon ship!" She yelled as her horn glowed and in a flash she was back in the dreamscape.

Luna sighed. "Well, that was unfortunate."

"I'll sure say it was, I liked my muffin button."

Luna's eyes went wide as she looked over and saw Derpy, floating with her in abstract void that was the dream world.

"Bu-but how? No pony has ever been able to follow me here. "

Derpy just shrugged. "You told everypony to abandon ship so I just hopped out after you."

"Great" Luna said as she went from upset to a soft smile. "Well, at least I can have some company tonight. It might be nice."

"You mean like a side kick?" Derpy asked, some how jumping in place with excitement in a featureless void with no ground.

"yeah, a side kick." she replied with a giggle.

Cool story! As far as I can see, there is only one noticeable flaw in your grammar:
patients
It should be patience. I am not a GN, but a TON of people will notice that.
Other than that, it is a good and funny story!

On my Read It Later List!

It sounds like a good story, but you might want to change the description.

It's the "advertisement" of the story, so to speak.

Most of your description makes it sound like a dramatic tragedy, so that's what most people will come to your story expecting.

Comedy lovers will probably be discouraged by the sound of the description.

But that's just a piece of advice.

Thank you very much. Sadly I'm not all that good with spelling. Almost flunked out of English twice in high school. I'll be sure to correct it as soon as its morning over here.

5570513 Yeah, I know that feeling. I suck at spelling too, but I do 95% of my work on a Kindle, so I have a very good auto-correct.

See, I get that. I'm just not really sure how else to describe it, especially since it kinda rides the line between the two. Like its got several funny moments but its also got adventure. And I'm not sure how to put it without scaring folks of either side off. When you read it, if you can come up with a better description I would love to hear it. Like I said, I'm more into comedy, and this is my first real foray into adventure so its kinda rocky.

Also, thanks for checking it out or at least putting it on the read it later list. ^_^ every time someone reads it, makes all the time typing it up worth while

See, there's a big difference between us two. I do mine on a cell phone with a bare bones word processor while waiting to start my shift again. You should see these stories when I load them onto Fimfiction. I copy paste them, then the built in spell checker on here highlights all the incorrect words. It looks like a Christmas tree coming on night before Santa.

Nice MST3K reference!:derpytongue2:

Thank you very much. I'm so glad someone actually got that. To be honest, I try to fit MST3K into everything I think I can get away with it in.
