I had two choices for cover art, and this one was the more cleanly drawn of the two. Unfortunately, I was unable to crop Rarity out of the picture. I suppose I could have used GIMP, but hindsight is 20/20.
As for the reactions, I might do that in a sequel. It was kind of the point that nobody knew, though.

I immediately read it right afterwards. And it was awesome! I'm kind of interested in the story behind Diamond Tiara's now though, or a crack involving Button's inevitable harem.
And Applebloom is forever alone.
As for RD's first kiss, I'm gonna guess either Fluttershy or Gilda since she probably did it when she was a filly.
Plus, I'm not sure how you're supposed to kiss a freaking beak ?

How would she even hear about the craze if she didn't have some sort of crush to begin with? Surely Diamond being able to pick any colt she wanted must of felt something? Even girls who pick others for their looks tend to feel something. Their young and it's supposed to be a big deal. Ha, she could even have just made it a big deal because she liked Rumble but maybe he didn't want a filly and wanted to slow things down and hurt DT's feelings? Maybe even going so far as to create the first kiss thing to hide the fact that she was let down by Rumble who just didn't feel or know what to feel at DT expressing her feelings all a sudden to him.
DT is pretty prideful. If ponies knew she got dumped they'd be talking about it for ages. But if she took control of the situation and talked about how SHE felt about the first kiss and hype it up, drop a thing about the two maybe taking time apart or felt they were rushing a bit (who knows) then she saves face and Rumble's indecisiveness just leaves DT feeling hurt inside despite the ruse.
Eh, DT just throwing away a kiss when they don't even let other foals near them just feels boring and lazy. All ponies deserve a good story, and I vote Button x Twist for first kiss.

I tend to pair off RumbleBloom whenever I write ScootaBelle, but in this particular case, I'm not really sure. Avoiding my tendency to pair up Spoon and Tiara kind of messed things up.

Their ages are ambiguous, of course, but my thought process was that they were at the age when they'd start getting curious about romance. Diamond Tiara strikes me as the sort who stays on top by dictating what the trends are crazes are, so once the first crush situation entered the picture, Tiara made sure she was the first to have their first kiss. It was a little sloppy of me to not update on what happened to their relationship, but I think they end up like a celebrity couple. A big fuss is made about them, they're made more popular over it, and then they fall apart a year or so later (or maybe even less. They're young teens, after all.) I didn't give much thought to how much Tiara has matured in this timeline, but she probably breaks it off first, as you said.

P.S. The only thing you did wrong was using a greeting at the end, rather than something like "Sincerely", "Signed", etc. That's not really necessary in a comment, though. It's a bit informal.

Nothing wrong with that. I know people who've never dated anyone at all, at least as of our graduation from high school. I don't really think it's anything to worry over. And as I kind of expressed in the story, first kisses are really more of a milestone than anything. They tend to be awkward, because you have no idea what you're doing. (It may not be that bad, though, because if you're an adult, odds are that your date has dating experience, and that sort of helps things.)
