It is a good story, but it feels more like a first chapter than anything. If you want to keep the Cheerilee theme, I'd suggest continuing it on her side of the drama as she watches everything unfold.
But that's just me. What you write is up to you!

Seriously, this is the only chapter? This needs another one or two. Good story though for the most part, I do love SweetieBloom.
I thought this story turned out quite well. That being said, the main conflict in this story made me a little confused. AB acts like she doesn't know Sweetie very well, or at least like she doesn't know what kind of pony Sweetie is attracted to. The whole dilemma about poor penmanship felt very weak, though I know it stood for something more telling about AB's personal opinions about herself. Still, it seemed overly simple. And I guess that was the suppose to be the case? Still a nice little tale and wraps up very nicely in the end.
There are some stories that conclude perfectly after the first chapter. This is not one of those stories.
Don't misunderstand; I loved it. There is potential here and I, for one, would like to see this story fulfill that potential.
